I too have worked with some of the so-called 'big names,' including Wong Shun Leung; I've BEEN to Leung Ting's school on Nathan Rd in HK. I also put up with Lo Man Kam's name-dropping Bruce Lee in his school on Chung Shan Rd in Taipei.
The important thing I point out here is what I have learned from Augustine Fong and which your idol Brian should consider.
I dont usually respond to such drivel but I have to make an exception in this case two quick points.
1) You talk of Ip Chun over charging and making money then in the same sentence say Leung Ting is a better instructor he may well be a great fighter / instructor but I assure you he (the self proclaiming God of Wing Chun) has earned a fair few quid from us westerners charging £100s for seminars.
Although, I confess, it does irk me somewhat that youtube is so full of armchair critics. Whatever happened to a bit of polite, constructive criticism? "Well done, but how about...?"
Anyway, that aside, can I ask how it is that a fan of Ip Man such as yourself can disregard the lineage of Ip Chun? How much more direct and pure a lineage could one wish for than the son of the late great master?
You were right about their lineage though, both have trained under Ip Chun.
Both need work on center principles.
This is messy; sporty, when it should show concentrated intention forward.
