I own all previous Chevelle albums and IMO, not digging this stuff too much. I was a die hard for Wonder What's Next, This Type of Thinking, and SiFi...this is kinda bland coming from Chevelle...IMO. Sounds like alot of stuff on the radio :(
@xjgseven im with ya on that one. I just listened to every song and if im being honest, I only liked 2 songs. Sci Fi Crimes and this album were just not edgy enough. They shouldve kept going with that drop tuned more aggressive sound that they achieved with This Type Of Thinking and Vena Sera.
@thefallingdream I did go ahead and buy it after Arise and Revenge caught my ear and overall I like the album. Was tired of listening to Sci-Fi crimes over and over,...heheh
the red was the song that inspired me to teach myself drums. as far as my skills got is pretty fucking impressive and i think their drummer needs to come up with some new shit
@mewzikluvr101 Really? I thought this type of thinking and wonder whats next were best and Sci Fi crimes was good. Hats off to the Bull is awesome but Vena Sera... That is one album I never liked no matter how many times I listened to it.
@Benchimusprime OH well I just really liked Vena Sera but I like this type of thinking and wonder what's next is after vena sera in terms of favorites. :P
I know many will disagree, but I dont feel this is a worthy single to be released. I think 'Revenge' would be the best next single from the album. thats just me though.
@wonderwall135 ... please tell me you bought the album... If not, you are forbidden from listening to Chevelle on youtube until you do. I do not approve sir. "fellow chevelle nerd" indeed...
@Superdrummerboy92 TOOL? I thought I read in a magazine after they released their debut, "Wonder What's Next" that Helmet was their main inspiration. Huh. I'll say this: Any band that writes three-to-four-minute songs should NOT say that they are inspired by Tool. Just Sayin'.
@LMCMInterloper that makes no sense dude.. Chevelle sounds very similar to Tool in many different ways. They don't have to write a 10 min song to consider themselves inspired by TooL.. Chevelle is also controlled by their label while TooL is not, hence only 11 songs per album
They are considering this song for their 2nd single...but quite frankly the other two considerations would be much better, ( The Meddler and Hats off to the Bull) but thats just my opinion :)
yall are givin unfair judgements too early... i didnt like face to the floor when i first heard it now i cant go a day without listening to it. Their songs take some time to get to like because of how different each song is from one another. Wait til the album comes out and youve listened to the cd in its entirety 4 or 5 times before you make biased opinions..
@RoyalWaste C'MON, the chorus is the best part of this song!!! ;-D
LOL, anyway, This album is their worst offering yet, even worse than "This Type Of Thinking Could Do Us In", IMO. Like I said in the description, this is the only song I could get into, apart from maybe "Face To The Floor". But the other songs I just could not get into.
@PatPatrick01 Really? Dude, I love this album so far. Although, I have not heard any of the other songs besides "Face to The Floor" and "Same old Trip". What are the others like?
@RoyalWaste The rest wasn't as "Catchy", so to speak, as past albums were. I judge good albums on how catchy the songs are, how melodic the choruses are. And "Hats Off To The Bull" just didn't have that melodic touch that made their past albums at the very least halfway listenable to me. Hope that clears that up.
@PatPatrick01 This Type of Thinking Could Do Us In wasn't a bad album. Their worst was Sci Fi Crimes. This one isn't looking too good either. Didn't like this song or Face to the Floor.
@dlhouse18 Really? I would hardly call songs like "Jars", "Letter From A Thief", "Highland's Apparition", and "Shameful Metaphors" 'their worst offering'. My personal favorite Chevelle album is a tie between their debut, "Wonder What's Next" (Can't beat "The Red", BY FAR their greatest song EVER) and "Vena Sera" ("Sleep Walking Elite" and "Delivery", the bonus tracks off that album, should have been on the album to begin with).
Shameful Metaphors and Jars happen to be one of my favorite songs from them. Other than that, the album has a different style from them that I don't enjoy. Wonder What's Next is BY FAR their greatest album Chevelle has ever produced. And the funny thing is I don't like Send the Pain Below the most successful single released from it. Songs like "Vitamin R", "Get Some", "Tug of War", "Panic Prone", and "The Clincher" are all some of their best work.
@dlhouse18 This Type of Thinking and Wonder What's Next were superb albums imo. Just listen to To Return, which is a hugely underrated song. Come to think of it, the album is full of them
@dlhouse18 i think their best album is by far wonder whats next, then this typ of thinking. point #1, vena sera then scifi crimes. this one is in last haha
Love these guys, specially the bands with only 3 members which seem to put out the best sound!
