I rarely get angry. Very little can get me angry. One thing that does however, is walking into a debate not knowing a damn thing about you're opponent's stand. Had I been in the room when Cameron pulled out the picture of the crocoduck I'd have been escorted out in handcuffs. Nothing pisses me off more than that cocky little weasel. I am an Atheist, but that's actually not true. It doesn't matter whether somebody calls it an ad hominem, an argumentum ad hominem, an ad hominem attack, or a personal attack. These are all the same thing. Ad hominems are ALWAYS used to discredit character, and in doing so, a fallacy is committed. However, IMO, what's worse is that the truth is diminished. Personally, I avoid ad hominems at all cost because they detract from the end goal, which is identifying the truth.
