  • I enjoyed this fictionalized story of Cleopatra. The story is not true of course, but it supposedly did show that Cleopatra already had strength of character when she was a teenager already. Very, very sanitized, but not bad IMHO.

  • I am appalled at how horribly inaccurate this is. I realize it needs to be g rated for kids but they could have at least kept factual accuracies such as when she met Cesar or Antony etc.

  • I loved the book it was awesome

  • 50percent of the time...what on earth is this?? The Romans/Egyptians didn't have any zeros or use the arabic umerals, so how could thay have percentages?

  • @ryanhhcheung you know, neither did they speak English.

  • @ryanhhcheung I believe the concept of being right or wrong half of the time still exists.

  • cleopatra is sooo haughty...

  • Whatever you want to say about her,Cleopatra was one smart cookie!

  • @Elizabeththegreatest Yes and no. Smart yes but picking Antony rather than Octavian turned out to be the wrong chose didn't it. Of course I guess there was no way to see into the future.

  • It's a well-known fact that Cleopatra was of Greek descent (specifically Macedonian). She wasn't African. Why is this so hard for people to understand?

  • @ThatKarmaGirl Your right, her family went far back as Macedonian rulers of Egypt. They just so happened to adopt the Egyptian ways. She was also the first one to speak the language of her people.

  • this acting is terrible

  • Hold down the spacebar . sounds cool/weird (x

  • Queen Kleopatra was of Greek Macedonian descent. She was NOT black. Look at the coins from her time. :)

  • cleopatra was one of histories greatest stateswomen of her time!

  • Woah that ceaser guy was the only hot guy there! Mac and puzo WERE supposed to be hot too but noooooo they had to shit all over my book! >:(

  • Marc antony is sooooo fucking ugly!! D: this series just shitted all over my favorite books of all time! >:( arrow a fucking kitten! Come on!

CLEOPATRA mother was a pure AFRICAN ... so that will mean she will look more like T.I., OBAMA or Alicia Keys

    HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

  • @dogons2k12 But the actress here looks half African!!! so what r u on about?!!!!!!!!!!

  • @kimokamal5 Have you seen how OBAMA, Kimora Lee or Tiger Woods look like ...

My point is that they should have chosen somebody that we could easily recognize as half African.

If I saw this woman on the streets in Africa I would think she is from Iraq!!!!

they should have casted either Halle Berry or Mariah Carey

  • @dogons2k12 And if I saw this woman on the streets in London I would think she is from Africa. and tiger woods and obama, Halle berry and Mariah Carey look like they r from Iraq or Egypt.

  • @kimokamal5 And if I was in the streets of Iraq I will easily tell the difference between Halle Berry, Obama and the Actress above.

C'mon stop being ignorant. You know damn well that she looks nothing like an African (or mixed African).

I date a half African girl ... and she looks nothing like this FAKE ASS cleopatra:)

  • @dogons2k12 well Cleopatra was Greek Macedonian so of course she won't look African >>;

  • @dogons2k12 She was of GREEK DESCENDENT , DUMBASS .

  • @lalaineelize543 where are your sources?!?! Elizabeth Taylor?!?!

  • @yougavable

If you studied Kleopatra and the time in which she lived you would find that in the Greek world her name would have been spelled as Kleopatra. Kleopatra as I have already stated was of Makedonian Greek descent and the whole Hellenistic world would have known her as Kleopatra.

Cleopatra is her Latinised name and this is how the Romans would have spelled her name. Check out coins issued by her in her own lifetime and you will see the name Kleopatra written on them.

  • The actress who plays Kleopatra looks more Japanese than Makedonian Greek!

Kleopatra was NOT black- she was of Makedonian Greek descent with just a touch of Persian blood.

Oh, and where is the proof that Kleopatra was black??

  • The actress that plays Cleopatra is really convincing. I know that Egyptians loved adornment and were known for their extravagant wigs and makeup, but at 3:13 she kinda overdid it on the hair jewelry

  • @HistoryGirl345 She did commit adultry. Ceaser was married when they had a kid.

  • you wish it were not true but you know that it is

    ooooooooooooohhhhhh BURN

  • 5:06 Marc Antony is really...cute there.

  • Whoops! I meant stabbed, not satdded...

  • Antony and Cleopatra are just like Romeo and Juliet: Antony heard Cleopatra was dead (even though she wasn't) so he satdded himself with his own sword. Then he was taken to her and died in her arms. She was so sad that she found a poisonous snake and forced it to bite her. Do you think that maybe Shakespere was basing Romeo and Juliet on them? I see a connection.

  • @sapphire2801 Shakespere's Romeo and Juliet was based off a book that was very popular in his time. There were no plagerism(is that how you spell it?) laws back then so Shakespere used the book and added some things to it so that it would be a five act play. Stories like Romeo and Juliet have been told many times. There is a story much like it in Greek(or it might have been Romen0 mythology that has a similar story.

  • @HistoryGirl345

yes but I think that her marriage with ptolemy was symbolic. She had no choice because it was the will of her father. If she wanted to be a queen, she had to marry her brother. We ca say ' " adultry" if we talk about caesar or marc antony because ptolemy died a few time after the meeting btween caesar and cleopatra.

sorry for my english!I'm not a native speaker.:s

  • Huh? They gloss over adultery and suicide but not incest?

  • @TranslatorCarminum I don't think they actually committed incest. The marriage was purely business so they could be co-rulers of egypt.

  • The people who play Caesar and Cleopatra are very good...even if the history is a little covered up.

  • I think the word is frenemy.

  • i see so much of liz taylor in her!

  • @HistoryGirl345 well marc antony was married so was ceaser so u were right the first time

  • @HistoryGirl345 well marc antony was married so was ceaser so u were right the first time

  • @HistoryGirl345 well marc antony was married so was ceaser

  • well this isn't historically accurate at all.

  • Im writting a report on her right now. these diarys are a big help. Clepatra VII is AMAXING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @HistoryGirl345

    She acually did both.

  • Cicero wrote in one of his letters that he didn't like cleopatra at all, being that she was a foreigner and a woman of great power.

  • Im dressing like cleopatra for halloween

  • cleo is so pretty

  • God her head must be HEAVY with all those beads and ornaments!!!!!! But DAMN this girl acts much more the princess than I thought!!!!!!!

  • Wth! they need to make it longer!!! It is not fair!!! I was looking forwardto a longer Royal diaries.... :(

  • @HistoryGirl345 Or that she killed herself...

  • @HistoryGirl345

and the fact that she killed herself after Mark Antony died

  • lol she dies of a snake bite.

yeah she committed suicide by a snake bite. its okay we all leave out little details :L

  • If we're gonna talk about historical accuracy, let's talk about all these white people running around Egypt wearing modern trendy makeup. I'm over here rolling.... :D

  • @bunnyboo107. What a horrible and stupid thing to say, where did they come up with your name, sorry we can't all have boring english names like Tom or Mary.

  • Okay. sorry it's so long, but this is continuing my other comment. Anyway, after marrying her younger brother, she had her perhaps adorable younger sister Arisone sent to Rome and imprisoned. Then had her killed. Her brother Ptolemy XIII drowned in the Nile, Tryphaena (Where did they come up with these names?) was strangled, and Arrow was a LEOPARD, not a house cat. And they also failed to mention their ages. THATt is how it should have been. Duh. BTW, not a very good movie.

  • @bunnyboo107 shut the fck up. no one wants to hear u talk. if u dont like this dont watch this.

  • Okay, I have read the book of this story about 30 times. Well, maybe not 30, but enough to remember the story. And, this is not it. During Cloepatra's reign, she became queen at age 18 and did marry Julius Ceasar. But Neva and Puzo married on a voyage down the Nile, because her father had not allowed it. And the retard Berenice was executed, not beheaded. And Antony killed himself after thinking his wife Cleopatra was dead. And it is still unknown how Cleopatra died.

  • @bunnyboo107 Historians now theorize that Octavian killed Cleopatra and I read a article on the Discovery Channel that she may've used poison, given her knowledge of them, its a possible idea.

  • Yeah, they messed up a bunch. Died from a snake bite? Come on.. at least tell the kids what really happened if you're gonna leave out 3/4 of the book.

P.S. The book rocked, the 'movie', not so much.

  • @HistoryGirl345 ...or that she committed suicide, or that she had her other sister Arsinoe murdered. I agree with you, it's laughable. It's one thing to clean up something for children to watch, but, to completely rewrite history... that isn't so funny.

  • @avallonmist I hate it when people do that

  • @chocolatefountain95 I actually made a mistake; I was thinking that she'd never gone to Rome before she met Caesar and that this was done for drama...I was wrong. She did meet Marc Antony when she was a young girl. That's what happens when you don't double check your sources before mouthing off. I apologize.

  • ....she didn't meet him in the book. i read that book when i was younger. that totally never happend.

  • I like the fact that they didn't mention the fact it was suicide

  • Ya that's not what really happened during her reign, but I get it. it's a kid's show. Still..

  • Neva was right, Egypt did become a Roman province after Cleopatra's death, of course it is not like that now, but then it was.

  • ok really i think not saying how she died at all is better then giving false info.....i mean some kids in school will..might pat attention to this video and think they know what they are talking about but they dont..

  • @HistoryGirl345 lol it's true! the book was violent in the end but they can't say suicide on the show

  • I read this book LOL thanks for uploading!
