  • is this kalia's birth or nakai's birth ?

  • I love how excited the trainers got :) for all of you idiots who are saying "set them free" think again, most of the orcas at SW were born there and wouldn't last a week out in the wild, leave the captive orcas where they are and leave the wild orcas where they are.

  • Omg the baby was so cute...but why are they both captivated...isn't there a law against that.....it's not fair!!

  • Boa, wie das Kleine schon an der Scheibe vorbeischwimmt und nicht an sie stoßt! Danke für dieses Video! Ich freu mich über jedes geborene Orcatier! Ich liebe diese soooooooooo sehr!

  • if a captive orca is set free, it will die because it has been in captivity for it's whole life. Setting them free is like putting a human in the woods.

  • now then... AWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW :3

  • as much as I do believe captivity is wrong, I have this to say. It is nearly IMPOSSIBLE to set an Orca or any other sea mamal free after keeping them captive for so long. This is because a lot of times they will be rejected from pods that do not know them, and they do not know how to hunt if they can never be propperly taught. It sucks that this stuff happens but it does. that doesnt make it right but theres nothing that can really be done after such a long period of inprisonment.

  • @FanFickChick1992 so don't imprison them in the first place? lol

  • Freedom is the law, this should never happened

  • set them free!

  • Ocean´s world and that sort of places, like zoos should be forbidden !!

  • @Emendil Many of these places actively rehabilitate animals and return them to the wild. The Vancouver Aquarium, as well as the aquarium in California, are just two of these places. Some creatures, however, are much to damaged to return to the wild or they are captively bred meaning they would not survive in the wild.

  • what if someone broke into your house, took you and your family, put you on the street and said, "Go! Run! You're free now, go!" I'd get mad. At zoos, animals have everything they need and then some. They have ample space, they don't have to search for food (which makes up the majority of their time in the wild), and they have medical treatment, which I hear is hard to come by in the wild. There's bad zoos, of course, but the majority are pretty good :)

  • @TheBroneill I understand where you're coming from... but I personally believe that we as human beings have no right to control the lives of other species. Putting these animals in these spaces that are nothing like the open ocean, with fresh ocean breeze. That can have absolutely no fair comparison to an animal cramped up in a tank, no matter how large the tank or good the zoo. I don't think zoos should be legal, because these animals never experience life on their own terms.

  • aw so adorible

  • Let them free

  • your right he will live a wonderful life with his mother and other orcas who will take care of her and amazing trainers who will take AMAZING care of her! o and i cry when dogs with owners give birth :( they will never be free o and when cats give birth i lock myself in my room because im so depressed and when pet gives birtsh i just feel so bad they will never experience what its like to be free :'( wow -_-

  • @Scubagal2917 how long do these whales live in captivity? Compare that to their life expectancy in their habitat. Whales are social creatures just like humans and they can live in pods up to 30 whales. Compare that to 3-4 whales in their tank..thousands of miles of oceans vs several hundred feet of pool. Sure they will get proper care and food in captivity, but if they were given a choice would they EVER choose that? My opinion changed after looking at a whale up close in mexico. Its very sad

  • @Thelosttraveller1 First of all there are much more than 3-4 whales and most of the animals were born there so it is there home and they love it there and the other whales cant live on there own Sea World is a GREAT place and if ur just gonna b a hater y r u searching it up on youtube!

  • @Scubagal2917 sure but is that home the home they deserve? Give a human a palace to live in where he cannot escape and give him all leisure but will that make him happy? No matter how much you argue, you know it yourself that they deserve better. Let nature decide the home, why should we?

  • @Thelosttraveller1 They wouldnt survive in the ocean seaworld is there home and like i said earlier stop hating on peoples videos just go post ur own and leave SEAWORLD videos alone and get over yourself would you IM DONE with haters like you HATERS GONNA HATE! and this was a beautiful video @antonio63ster so great job! sorry you have people hatin on your video it was a joyous moment and deserves to be shared! and i know im right so im not even gonna to try to explain myself to stubborn ppl*

  • yay! which orca was that?

  • it almost looks like that baby whale slams into the wall of the tank after its born.

  • I was feeling down, but the video made me smile. Until I realised the first thing the poor baby orca did was bang its head due to the limited space of being born in captivity :(

  • "check this out, i got something sticking out of me" haha!

kalia's so cute! kasatka was sticking by so close to the trainers :)

  • how sad born into a life of captivity

  • Wow everyone calm down.

  • just cause YOU think thier treated badly doesnt mean they are your probley a non meat eater who doesnt shave and iam informed on them i did a project on them when i was in school and what makes you so informed on them? are you around those animals 24/7? didnt think so @Drusilla76

  • these animals are not treated bad heck they have better treatment then most humans do in senior citizens homes there loved they have medical treatment and food in the wild THEIR DYING AND BEING HUNTED SO GO SEA WORLD FOR GIVING THESE ANIMALS SAFE HOMES AND SAVING THEIR SPECIES

  • @tennesseegirl881108

theyre actually not being hunted anymore for the most part and are not dying lol

bottle nosed dolphins on the other hand are dying

  • @tennesseegirl881108 i see you are verry good informd.... NOT

  • @tennesseegirl881108 Seaworld helps fund the dolphin hunts in Japan. A majority of their female bottlenosed dolphins are herded by Taiji fishermen, then sold to trainers who select them according to their breed and sex. That alone makes the "conservation" work at Seaworld nearly pointless. What's the point of talking about conservation when your small cetaceans are selected from a group whose majority will be slaughtered for human consumption?

  • @wannabedesi Not a single whale or dolphin has been shipped into the USA from Japan. In fact it is very difficult for an aquarium to get a permit to have any marine mammals imported form other countries for the exact reason that it is imposable to ascertain where the animal was acquired among other health concerns. I would be very surprised if any of the Taiji dolphins end up anywhere but in Japan. Sea world has been advocating against the whaling practices in japan for nearly 30 years.

  • @tennesseegirl881108 Thats so ignorant

  • @tennesseegirl881108 now i know your from tennessee, your opinions reflect it. Your lack of research and accuracy only prove my point further. Thank god not everyone is from tennessee

  • he's not a bloody slave they are way more safe in there then in the wild bloody hell

  • Would all of you calm down! Yes they may be in captivity but you make it sound like their being tortured! Their being fed and taken care of! And besides, their safer there than they would be out at sea, between predators and whale hunters. Just cool it ok?

  • Killer whales ARE predators, and if there were an all out ban on whaling we wouldn't have to put them where they don't belong. Think about it this way: You're safer indoors right? You don't stand a chance of being in a car accident or robed at home. But you take the risk because being inside you don't get the stimulation or social aspect you need to survive. What makes you think that a whale is any different? Sure they're safe, but they're not stimulated or given the social contact they need.

  • I started tearing up while watching this video...the baby orca will never experience what it's like to be FREE:'(

  • @MsOzzy20 There's always a good side luv, at least he/she won't be in our vitamins bottle :)

  • @MsOzzy20 I must disagree. The orcas held in captivity are actually switched out. After a few months in captivity they will be set free in the ocean and another orca will be in its place.

  • @MsOzzy20 but the thing is the baby orca dosent even know a "wild" exist. It dosent have a clue whats out there. Whats beyond the concreate baren walls is beyond its imaginataion it has absolutly no idea whats outh there. And the baby never will. Although i do know what your saying.

  • @MsOzzy20 eventually they will set it free unless it expiriences vital injuries... Sea World always lets their animals be free when their injuries have healed and if the animal has too bad of an injury Sea World will keep it and help it regain its strength...and this is for everybody that thinks all of the animals should be released...90% of all the animals that Sea World has in captivity, they all have been injured out in the wild and have rescued them, the other 10% have been born in captivity

  • They should actually let them go!!!

  • Aww Kasatka is such a good momma. That baby is Kalia. Happy birthday baby Kalia-12-21-2004.

  • I cryed. The baby hit the pool pane in the final rush. It's sad. This anumal should't be caged. Just for human fun. Humans should't be there and watch this from a glass... SAD.

  • SO SAD NOW THEY HAVE ANOTHER ANIMAL TO TRAIN 24/7. IN THE WILD HE WOULD BE ABLE TO BE WITH HIS MOM FOREVER AND NOW THEY WILL PROBABLY GET SEPERATED. HOW SAD! AND THE PEOPLE WERE LAUGHING! I SWEAR IF IM EVER PREGNANT AND MY FRIENDS LAUGH WHEN IM GIVIN BIRTH IMMA SHOOT THEM!

  • @SweetGurl42010

Sorry but we do not train our whales 24/7 we do train them but when they are so young we don't they mostly just hang out with her parents (mostly mom) and sometimes other babies! We also do NOT force them to preform or train we can't force them to do anything at any moment they could just say no I don't want to I'm tired or No I don't want to cause I'm not in the mood they chose we don't sometimes we have to cancel the shows cause they do not want to participate.

  • HOW SAD FOR THE BABY HE IS GONNA BE A SLAVE FOR SOME CLOWNS ND ENTERTAIMENT INSTEAD OF BEING IN THE WHILE WITH HIS MOMMY ND POD FUCK HUMANS

  • Many times do you have to watch Free Willy before you actually free the fucking whale?

If I was giving birth and all you's were standing screaming and taking pictures...I would eat you's.

    Free them retards

  • Oh look, a new captive.

They shouldn't be in a cage.

  • cute

  • poor sweet thing. she deserves to give birth in the privacy of the ocean, not in a cramped aquarium.. i hate when any animal is kept in captivity, they belong IN THE WILD! stupid humans, think they own everything..

  • @chickenfiesta15 I absolutely agree!

  • She have stop to swim!

  • LET THEM FREE!

  • Before marine parks flaunt captive breeding and conservation programmes, the issue

must be objectively examined in its proper context. In order to achieve an honest

evaluation, it is necessary to begin a programme of radical reform. But to date, the

industry is not contributing to conservation through captive breeding; but simply

manipulating its own internal supply of animals for a self-serving agenda.-Jerye Mooney

  • They allow people to watch this and cheer and make noise? Jeez, if it isn't stressful enough for these orca to give birth in captivity, let alone with people yelling alongside

  • @Rozski They're the trainers celebrating after waiting for 17 months of pregnancy. I think I'd be excited too. After this moment, they try to stay as quiet as possible for the first couple weeks.

  • LOL.. he is so happy to be out.

  • Seaworld?

  • another whale being brought to eath woohoo

  • i wanna pet a baby orca!

  • Awesome!!!

  • Its bad enough capturing orcas and making them live in a tank, nevermind birthing them and forcing them to live and grow up in a tank

  • is that kasatka giving birth to kalia?? how awesme!

  • FREE THE WHALES no animal should be locked up in a cage!

  • Was this from Seaworld?

  • wow a very rae moment

  • awww the whale is so small compared to the big one its TOO CUTE!

  • Good job sweetie...another baby for the SeaWorld family to love and care for.

  • how do the babies know to come to the edge to breathe when they're in the water. they never try to breathe underwater?

  • SeaWorld rescues the animals they dont capture them!. Most people believe that we force them to do tricks and won't feed them unless they beg. That's not true. The animals have a daily diet and if they're not up to learning tricks, they're not forced upon to do so. Trainers will spend years bonding with these whales before they ever get in the water with them. And if the whales never liked it, they wouldn't be doing it in the first place. We care and love about our animals 24/7.

  • I can't imagine how hard it must have been for this beautiful creature to try to birth her baby with the roar of a crowd in the background, not enough room to move around and no privacy to birth her baby in peace and with dignity.

  • @KittGibson ask any woman... they don't have a private birth... welcome to the real world

  • @isolatedmynde I am a woman. And I know that its not often in the US that a woman is allowed to birth her baby in peace, but I also know that women have choices. We can choose to birth our babies at home or in birthing centers or even unassisted so that we can have privacy. This creature had no such choice.

It is a sad fact that women in America today often choose hospital births that are not private simply because they believe they don't have a choice.

  • @KittGibson i understand your statement ... but it's not only up to the woman ... the husband or man has an opinion... as well as the family and sometimes medically they have to ... i do feel bad for the whale ... but that's life ... there's nothing we can do about it. :(

  • @isolatedmynde Of course. But at the same time, you can choose to be alone or at least more private than a hospital where there are ten nurses and a doctor milling around you. I just mean that at home, you have more of a choice. Its mostly just sad that this poor orca had no choice at all.

  • @KittGibson oh and even at home ... it's not private you have your midwife... and husband... there are always people around.

  • @isolatedmynde I've tried replying to you, but it's giving me a hard time. Basically, I just said that 1, I am a woman. And two, I choose to birth my children at home with a midwife - private and safe. And many other women choose the same. At least we have choices where this beautiful creature did not.

  • And another slave is born. Never to be the hunter it was meant to be. Fed dead fish and made to beg for its food. Shame on you.

  • How wonderful!!! If they were all in the wild you would never get to witness that, and our children would never learn about them.

  • @sandman92660 Your children would never learn what the whales name was, how long it was, and how heavy it weighed? Oh but wait they can teach your kids it's okay to dominate wild animals and force them to do unnatural tricks? How about don't be lazy and take your kids to bc to actually be in the water with the whales. A million times better and more educational then seaworld. Stop being so selfish.

  • @Little123Fizz not everyone can afford to travel to BC... and without putting them in captivity there would be many things we would never have learned about them... yes it is sad.... but they do get fed and looked after... sometimes seaworld is the only way to see them.

  • @isolatedmynde "It's the only way to see them" Is a VERY bad reason to keep animals that use echolocation in a tiny concrete box. We haven't learned THAT much from orcas in captivity because they die to damn quickly and once in captivity, a totally unnatural place for the orca, they no longer can do things that are natural to them. So by putting them in these boxes corporations are brainwashing you into thinking it's good while making billions off the exploitation of these cetaceans...

  • That is so adorable. Orcas are my favorite whales :)

  • who's birth is this??

  • Amazing

  • WOW amazing!

  • I know it sounds strange, but..... I feel sad because for the orcas, the baby was born in jail...

  • absolutely amazing

  • beautiful...too bad the baby will never get to be in the wild.. IT'S REAL HOME..

  • thats too cute

  • wow..i cant believe as small as they are as babies they become HUGE! lol

  • it takes them lik 5 hours 2 give birth!!

  • that is the most amazing thing ever, i've always wanted to work with orcas and being able to experience that in real life would be amazing. that little whale is so badass too. it just come out swimming like nothing happened haha

  • it's unbelievable that the little thing comes out swimming like that!

  • All complex species have various forms of 'built in' instructions in their DNA.

  • Yeah it's really unbelievable that whales have evolved to where they don't just sink and drown immediately upon birth.

  • @ihateuutube Human babies have evolved to take a breath instantly, having not experienced air for nine months. Orcas can swim straight away but they're voluntary breathers and it takes them a while to get the hang of that - like we take a while to walk and talk.

  • aaw it was so beautiful :3

  • omg i love orcas..

  • Hey that's sea world!! Lol

  • no thats Loro parque

    i have seen that ;)

  • hahaha oh, looks just like it!

  • I think its beautiful to see a killer whale giving birth killer whales are very beautiful very smart and they own the ocean

I Hope to see one to someday

Cause i never looked at a killer whale so close they are magnifecent

  • How sad, beautiful but sad. Sad that the first thing it hears is a muffled roar of the crowd and a sudden bang on the head from the limited space that he/she can swim.

  • @myscongeniality yes its very sad to see the baby and his mother cant live in the real world and have to live in a small space

  • @myscongeniality hey guess what you heard when you were born? the cheer of the people in the delivery room. how selfish to be so unexcited about a new life being born. just goes to show what some people are like..

  • @orcalvr1216 I think this was intended for me and if not, I apologize. There was a cheer in the waiting room when I was born, but from what I understand the delivery was peaceful and serene. I am very excited whenever a new life joins us, but there is still a level of serenity that must be respected as the birthing mother's right. Even if she isn't human.

  • @myscongeniality and its not the crowd, its the trainers that work there, the public is not allowed to watch usually!

  • @myscongeniality Too true!

  • @myscongeniality But atleast he/she won't have the japanese coming after them!

  • smokeystreetRace- the poll for the killer whales are plenty big and they live a wonderful life i bet

  • They would have a better life in the ocean. It's not like some other animals in zoos that get protected from other species. Killer whales dominate the sea more than any animal dominates the land. They can do whatever they want and nothing can do crap to them. And she would live in a big pod for her life.

  • pssh... I never seen a two tailed whale before!

  • It is very beautiful to watch her give birth, I just wish she was in the ocean and if not in the ocean was at least given some privacy. I am sure she didn't want all these spectaters looking at her =( but its such a beautiful moment!

  • that is awesome a baby just born and it and swim like crazy too bad it got stuck in that small tank, maybe for the rest of it life

  • Kasatka giving birth to Kalia <3 2004

  • They need to start coming up with new names for these whales. So many named Kalia.

  • @ihateuutube lol theres only one Kalia, theres also a Malia in Seaworld Orlando

  • aww

  • ♥ it SO CUTE!!!!♥

  • wow.... just..... AMAZING. there was like 2 tails sticking out.

  • The miracle of birth, it is always beautiful. ♥

  • except in humans

  • LOL its so true!! And human babies are ugly little things until after a while (some of them)

  • wow amazing! the baby is soo adorable(and small)

  • @whalelover1231 its about the size of a dolphin

  • yea i know but it sure is small compared to the mom! :D

  • Nature at it's finest!! What I didn't see coming was that the baby was going to close to the glass wall and then...(I don't know what happened?)

  • :O SHAMU?!?!?!? Shamu giving birth.....wow the baby looks like its mother :3

  • Wow! Great capture.

  • Nature at its best

  • @ladyanime100 how is this at all natural?

  • Comment removed

  • @caterluna223 Birth, a newborn. Its only natural to give birth in both animals and humans. Nature is a beautiful thing

  • @ladyanime100 Yes its good to celebrate but now when theyre born in a tank

  • @caterluna223 Sorry, yes its bad that they're not free but at least they're not dying in the wild because of the human impact in the ocean.

  • @ladyanime100 No they are just being worked to death and not even living a 1/3 of their natural lifespan that they could potentially live too without the stress of captivity.

Oh and then when those ones die between the ages of 5-10 then we just go get more from the wild and kill more wild populations. Then when we finally wipe them all out, we'll just have a couple left in glass boxes to remind us of how amazing our world used to be.

  • @Little123Fizz Sea World no longer takes orcas from the wild

  • @snizzlefrazzy

yeah, they're inbreeding their slaves now.

  • @ladyanime100 captivity at its finest.

  • that was amazing! :)

    ♥

  • As for birth rates, after more than 45 years in which at least 193

orcas have been held in captivity, with 83 known pregnancies,

only 40 viable calves (surviving past one year) have been pro-

    duced (a 51.8 percent mortality rate) Naomi A. Rose-PhD-2009

  • too cute

  • all of the animals at sea world, if not born there, were rescued! So don't go around saying that it's criminal. They get to have fun and play everyday! (: sea world saved them!

  • Not all dolphins are whales elodee orcas got their other name when fishermen saw them killing other whales (killer whales get it) but its true i had to do a project on them a while ago

  • Yes, All dolphins are small toothed whales. But not all whales are dolphins, So technically an Orca is a dolphin, which is a whale. : )

  • That was so cute how at the end the baby swam by it was bigger than i thought it would be oh and btw orca females can live to be 90 years old and males around 60-75but the females do live alot longer

  • watching it made me smile.

and reminded me of free willy too

  • wow! that was amazimg i really enjoyed that but they shoulld free not captured and locked up and stuff

  • They are no longer captured, the only whales at sea world now are ones who are born through captivity. and they're not locked up really. Unless you're locking up your dog/cat in your house? Which is pretty much the same thing.

  • Animals live longer in captivity.

  • finally, Someone who realizes the truth! Seriously, People think they live to 70 in the wild? BS, They mean in captivity!

  • From looking at how people treat Earth nowadays, animals in captivity avoid being hunted from hunters and other predators. They are safe from the pollution and dangers of how most people treat this planet.

  • all living creatures should be freed from commercial greed. only real research and rescued animals exempted. never visit marine aquarium, zoos, sea world etc.

  • If they were freed they would die. They are used to growing up in captivity, being cared for, and being kept healthy, etc.

  • soooooooo cute :-)

  • that was pretty cool

but i think that'd suck .. him getting born into a large tank type thing .. thennn he's gonna be trained to do shows for people..

    pretty gay.

  • in some cases its good to have animals in captivity. i think in this one its good.

  • It swims so fast as soon as it was born! totaly amazing!

Orcas are wonderfull creatures, this is so nice to see.

  • Just watch and be thankful that nature can bless us with such a beautiful miracle.

    I agree v v v v v v v

  • I think everyone needs to shut the hell up and watch this miracle of birth that would probably NEVER BE SEEN IN THE WILD.

  • The reluctance of many marine parks - especially Sea World - to release accurate

information relating to orca deaths also extends to its employees. Many marine park

employees are unaware of what constitutes natural health and lifespan amongst wild

orcas and are led to believe that many of the captives which have died in their teens

and twenties were in any case nearing the end of their natural lifespan. "Dying to Entertain You" Whale and Dolphin Conservation Society.

  • Looks no bigger than a dolphin of course only when first born. Very cute.

  • coo

  • GOSH!!! It's so huge i am scared

    i wan faint~ X_X

  • The comments here are pretty vicious.

If you want to help animals you need to have compassion for people too. Flamewars won't save anyone or anything.

  • By the way, I don't support marine parks. I think it's cruel to keep any animal like that pinned up. I'm practically against the zoo as well. So don't call me a 'ticket taker' what ever that means. Okay? I haven't been to sea world since I was ten. I don't chose to go to sea world and see those precious animals preform like they do.

  • You don't chose to go to sea world and see them perform natural behaviors that they are not forced to do? And don't lie to yourself and say they're not natural :) They jump, breach, spy hop, dive, etc. So they're performing what they would naturally do in the wild.

  • I didn't know I had to be part of a conversation to leave a comment? And don't call me a brat because I'm anything but. I just like stating facts of what I know. Orcas are a very sensitive topic to me, and I HATE when people call them whales or killers.

  • You don't. Sweetprism00 is afraid of anyone who comments on his comments because he can't back up his BS statement with fact as you have done which is why he's so angry. I am still getting the F word constantly from that one and I've ended the conversation already. I don't even work at Sea World, I am a student in college working towards my Masters Degree in Environmental Engineering. He hasn't a clue!!

  • This video is not about animal activism, it's about celebrating a captive birth. You shouldn't be so negative sweetprism00. Captive birth means less animals taken from the wild. You may not like it, in fact, a lot of people don't like it, but you are never going to get corporate gi
