  • shiver =)

  • that was awesome

  • What's with people bitching about this song being slow all the time? There are allowed to be different interpretations of it you know. SOunds fine to me.

  • Very good, but to slow!

  • Wonderful! Good job!

  • Needs to be just a tad up tempo. Otherwise, not too bad....

  • ding fries are done, ding fries are done

  • The girl in the front IS singing. She's an alto part so she's singing a part that requires very little mouth movements when they zoomed in the first time, and the second time she wasn't SUPPOSED to be singing because it's a soprano only part.

  • OMG THIS IS THE BEST VERSION OF THE SONG EVAR!!!!!!!!!!! P.S. Why the crud isin't the girl in the very front singing?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

  • phenomenal but the tempo is slower than usual

  • the older kids in my school sang this and i was the audience :D and they sounded just like the disk i absoloutly loved it xD and i love this too :]

  • This is amazing.

I'm singing it in SSA and I WISH the SAB chorus I was in last year sang this song.

We did Madrigal of the Bells xP.

But still very, very, very good.

  • the tenors were really good in this song. poor girls sitting in the front.

  • There's nothing like this song live

  • true

  • that was a great performance but what on earth were they thinking making the girls in front sit down! that cloapses their diafram making it harder to sing out. I dont think they're teacher knew what she was doing

  • This song is always played in USA and everywhere but not many know that it is an authentic Ukrainian song. I heard the best western versions of it and let me tell you, the Ukrainian national choir is still better. Soviet Union Music education is always better. Ask any musician. Half of them, in USA and elsewhere, are Russian or Ukrainian. Many Jews too:-)

    Regards!

  • Watch Movies like Carol of the Bells at W W W . TV-Video . us

  • I love this!!! Its my favorite christmas song too!!!!

  • this is the best one on youtube ive seen yet!

  • Great performance of my favorite Christmas song!!! I prefer when choir sing this song over seeing this at concerts; at concerts they can dress it up to much and then the beauty of the song is tarnished

  • this is really good

  • This Was Really ood... I Have To Do It For My Chorus Performane With My Chorus People

  • wow...that was really good! We're singing this at my school but we're not half as good :(

  • haha us too! maybe because they are older they kinda seem like professionals too.

  • I think the fast version is better. I enjoyed it though. Very good job.

  • Wow they're awesome! I always love the part in any version of this song when they sing "gaily" 'cause it's like really high and pretty lol. This is one of my favorite Christmas songs ^_^

  • why is this girl in the front not singing lol

  • @Tadoow05 im guessing different voice parts and her voice part wasn't singing then....... just saying.

  • @Tadoow05

I got it she just wanted to be part of it and take some of the credit....hehe

  • they may ont have enough men to sing or they sing tenor or bass in a women's choir

  • Why are some of the girls sing the tenor bass part?

  • because some girls have low voices, like me

  • They have an angelic voice..the blending is great for a Christmas song because its light to the ears..great job..i love it..:)..yes i agree that there is spirit when they sang the song.

  • best ( noninstrumental) version! but, the instrumental version will always be at the top of my list! : )

  • the opening is a little flat, but otherwise great song!

  • wow they are great!!!!!!!!!!!!! they have some serious tallent. awsome 5 stars!!!!!!!

  • i like the slow version wayyy better than fast.

  • oh my gosh! same!

  • I thought this is just great! I don't see a problem with the tempo! Why speed it up? Are we in a hurry?

  • video quality is terrible but the sound is easily best one on yutube well done if yur in this choir be proud of ya self making magic like this

  • best version on youtube indeed .. other are speeded up or such :) 5/5

  • I think this version is much better than all the super fast ones where you dont understand a word. Here you can feel the magic.

  • i had to do this in chorus last year except we did it super fast a girl next to me i thought was gonna cry it was so awesome i like this more though

  • the best version I've heard on youtube so far.

  • we sung this in december for our holiday concert we did it a lot faster than them!!!!

  • our school did this a lot faster. our school hand picked about 70 out of the 200 who tried out for our school's ensemble from the 5th and 6th grade. Im an alto

  • we had to sing this two years ago and we made like half the women in the audience cry...it was lovely.

we did it a little faster than this, and i actually like this one better. this is my favorite christmas carol to sing.

    FIVE STARSS!!!!!

  • we have to sing this song its much better slower

  • this is so much better than all of the groups that go way to fast.

  • SOOOOOOOOOOOO BEAUTY!!! :')

  • yeah I agree

  • This group is really good-words are enunciated clearly, they perform as a an ensemble and as a collection of voices equally well. The acoustics of the performance room are a trifle vibrant but that adds something as well.

  • These kids were fine. I actually like their slower tempo. Now select the vid of the Chicago kids. For the 58 seconds they are singing, their is NO comparison.

  • I dont like the Chicago kids tempo. the only reason I understood them is because i sung the song for choir last december.

  • damn that girl that you zoomed up to is ugly!!!jk shes kinda cute.i like this song.

  • this is way too slow.

  • best on youtube so far...

song it better than alot of people

    favorite xmas song

  • its okay.

    not fast enough.

  • Goodness that girl who they zoom in on, is JUST sitting there

  • i love this song

  • Me too! It's like the ultimate Christmas song.

  • lmfao, i love how they kept zooming in on the girl who wasn't singing. xD

  • finally i find a video where they arent trying to quickly finish the song! good

  • We had to sing this song for chorus on the 9th... Well, altos kinda over-powered the sapranos, and we didn't have guys, so it was only girls singing... But it was for select chorus only, so I think we did pretty good. The tempo is kinda slow... I wouldn't be able to match it... But you guys did pretty well! ^_^

  • were singing this too for choir, you guys are better though, coz were juss 6th graders.lol

  • We sang this last year...lol

  • Yeah I have to sing this song next Tuesday at are Christmas program :]

  • We have to play this song for our Christmas concert at school. The band is playing it but it sounds a bit different

  • REALLY GOOD!!!

  • "Carol of the Bells" (also known as the "Ukrainian Bell Carol") is a Christmas song originally composed by Mykola Dmytrovych Leontovych based on a Ukrainian New Years chant known as "Shchedryk" and adapted into English by Peter Wilhousky. The song is based on a traditional folk chant whose language was thought to have magical properties and to be of prehistoric origins and was associated with the coming New Year in Ukraine before the introduction of Christianity

  • The choir at my school is singing this song...

  • they did really good...but fer hte ding dong ding dong part they should have sung on the consanant...thats how we did it...it sounded cool!!!

  • they did so good on this song

  • we are doing this song in our highschool acapella choir.I am a tenor and i think the song is easy(at least the guy part).

  • wOw!!! amazing its abit hard to sing...while sitting..!!hhaaa..

  • right on tune but a too bit slow

  • My chorus is singing this song this year in south mountain!!

  • very good. too slow though

  • beautiful... but just for some constructive chritisism.. add more dynamics, and make the "dings" sound like "dnng".... don't say the "e" vowel. also, use taller vowels, and make the song have a faster tempo.

  • My choir is singing this in our concert this year.

  • What school?

  • I don't go to school, I'm 31! I sing at my church.

  • sorry!

  • I wish it would have gone faster, but regardless of that. it's great!

  • YO DAT JUS PLAIN GUD EVERY OTHA VERSION SUcKS

  • Excellent tempo!! Beautifully done!!!

  • I LOVE THIS VERSION, the tempo it's just PERFECT everyone elses' is way too fast. LOVE IT and the bass' and sopranos are AMAZING!!!

  • it's actually supposed to go fast.

but you're right it does sound amazing.

  • it needed to be way faster

  • I also wish that you could hear the bases properly. i'm a tenor 1 but I sang this song as a base because I can hit that sweet g2 that the bases sing. needs to have more power behind teh bases

  • wow my choir sang it alot faster and it sounds a lot better and you could hardly hear the tenors and bases

  • This is a giant choir..holy shit.

  • Yup. When I graduated, Ben Davis had a 4100-strong student body. I've heard it's the biggest suburban school in the country.

  • the song is supposed to be sang at this tempo. those sped up versions sound terrible and are wrong.

  • yeah im in the vocal ensemble of my group and i sing tenor. Ours gos alot faster...

  • this song is ment to be sung that slow

  • oh my god why are they singing it so slow? And pitch is a bit off.

  • Awesome! I graduated from Ben Davis! (And the singing is very good, too.)

  • My show choir is singing it faster...this group sounds amazing though!

  • yea in my choir were singing it a lot faster, but besides that it sounds great!

  • it's... so.... slow.... why... so.... slow....

  • mii chorus is singin this song along with Ding-a Ding-a Ding too

  • you have a HUGE chorus. how many people are there? (mine is about 15 people, and half of them are bass. its depressing...)

  • i'm a suprano- however its spelled

  • soprano. just thought you might wanna know

  • thanks

  • Im singing this with my chorale

    great job =)

  • nice but why is the tempo pulled back so much

  • thEY DID OK BUT IN THE CHIOR IN MY SCHOOL WE SING IT SO MUCH FASTER!

  • godd job on the video im a alto men

  • I'm singing this in chorus class also.

  • were singing this in my chorus class.

i really hope we do good.

    im an alto.

  • Very nice!!

  • Learning it now...hard tenor part

  • i remember doing this song in 8th grade....great times!

  • they all sound really young

  • this is a ukrainian christmas song and is meant to be sung fiercely not soft and sweet

  • I LOVE THIS SONG

  • Shit yo... this song is so perfect from a choir... my choir seems like a weakling compared to the sound of this one... i need to learn that one high part... how can i call myself a soprano if i can't hit that one note?

  • ahh its SONG of good cheer!!!!

  • real good! good job

  • We Our Going To Sing This On

    Dec.11 Can't Wait!

  • Me too! Only it's on Dec. 14 for me.

  • lol everyone has winter concerts. mines 16 days away i think. which yes the smae day as you .small world

  • Wow, that sounds so good,I love this song! We have to sing this for our upcoming Christmas concert.

  • This is the best one I've heard!

  • i love it at this pace, it allows you to be able to appreciate the beauty of this song

  • this was sooo slow. but the sound is great. This songs more funn to sing it faster.

  • I am 1st soprano. its fun cause im in the highest part and we get to sing all the good parts.

  • more like the easy part

  • or melody.....aka BORING!!!! pretty.....but boring and a lot easier! alto II baby!!! lol

  • yes first sopranos always have the advantage of melody for the most part. at least in traditional 4 part choirs. however I dont really prefer the melody. about 50 50 because depending on the song certain

  • Yeah. I am a soprano 1. which in our school it is the highest. I have a 4 and a half octive range. I don't know if thats good or not.. lol.

  • I'm a Bass 2, and love this song.

  • I'm an alto, so I don't get to sing the fun part, but I ADORE singing this song.

Sad thing is, I can sing the Soprano part better than most of the sopranos, haha.

  • Yeah... I'm a tenor and I can, too. xD

  • i know exactly what you mean.....the sopranos in my choir right now are really pitchy.......aw man i sound full of myself! :( im not tryin 2 be...

  • i am in choir but the concert is in decenbrie 2 aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa cant wait i can sing this song soooo fast

  • how was this split up? like i asume the sapranos sang the high part, but did u guys have 1st and second altos? like it was 1st saprano and 2nd saprano together then, 1st alto with the sapranos then 2nd altos with the guys?

  • I have to say this is the best version of this song I have heard on here!!! You guys are fantastic!!!!

  • were singing the exzact way in my chorus

  • we have o sing it wicked fast its gay

  • lol same we sing dat n our chorus teacher makes us sing it fast

but she keeps getting mad cause i sing soprano for my alto part

  • fucking amazing =]

  • this is cool i like this song other ones are too fast it sounds cooler slower lol@ the girl that didnt sing at all i took chior once just so i get outta school for a lil and i never sang i just lip singed xD

  • really slow...

  • good but needs to be faster

  • i must say there altos and sapranos are out standing but the baritons could be a little...shell i say power? towards the end of the song my schools chorus is the best

  • I agree with all the comments, it's much better for a choir to sing this in a moderate tempo than fast. So often choir directors want to showcase their choir's ability to sing fast and it ends up a big garbled mess because no one can understand the text. By all means, if you've got a choir than has GREAT intonation, articulation and enunciation then you might be able to pull off a faster tempo.

  • this was reallyyy slow

    i like it slow actually

  • lol, i love how they kept zooming in on the chick who wasnt singing. xD

  • she was saying ding dong

  • ben davis in indiana???

  • Great !!

  • awesome.

  • Bravo to the choir director for having the musicianship and courage to conduct this old Ukrainian carol in three rather than in one ! So many other conductors mistakenly think a fast tempo is more exciting, but that only results in a mad and sloppy scramble....

  • i hated doing it in one.

    three is much better.

  • Absolutely right! Only at a slower three, can all inner parts express everything they have to say. Too many choir conductors try to mimic frantically fast symphonic arrangements. Big problem is the misleading English translation; the original has nothing whatsoever to do with "bells" and was certainly not meant to be a musical representation of cascading, reverberating bells. For anyone still in doubt as to tempo, listen to good Ukrainian groups singing this. And use good musicianship!

  • You've been slapped by mah penis

  • ok this song was done with all the choirs which were alot! including the choir groups who sucked a** and couldnt keep a tone if it sat in their lap and called them mama!!! so if it sounds bad thats why....!!

  • you need to work on making sure that you are singing the same words at the same time, if you dont the effect of the song is very blury and sloppy. Otherise i thought it was very good

  • They are going very very slow.

At my chorus concert the high school sang this song and they went way faster and sounded really cool.

  • sopranos are non tonal on the high g for "gayly". it really bothers me.

  • ((...this place looks like my school! lol))

really really affective, in a choir, but most choir's are better live

  • were do you go to school...because it also looks like my school

  • worle media arts collage

  • omg it gave me goosebumps!! SOOOOO AWESOME!! WONDERFUL JOB RIGHT THERE!!!...

  • yeah....it was better than the time my choir sang it!!!at the last part were they say on on they send on without end there joyfull tone to every home....my freinds were supposed to say that and you could barely hear it

  • That was nice, thanks. I enjoyed that. It must have been great to be at the live performance.

I don't suppose you had a blonde haired daughter singing in this performance did you? ;-)

  • You've a good eye ;)

  • GREAT job! I like it slower.

  • well yeah it is very good slow

  • very good but too slow

  • very good we sing this at school in our chorus i love this christmas song!!

  • really good :)...but I've been looking all over youtube for this...has anyone ever thought of the concept of having the orchestra play with the choir singing? I mean the song is an instrumental too :D

  • Sopranos need improved vowels. They sound very childish and imature throughout the song. Sitting doesn't help breath support...

  • so right!! what kind of instructor says for the singers to fcking sit!! she must be retarded! and es you are they dont have good tones

  • thats true.

  • WA!! BEST DANKIEEE

  • very beautiful. Best one on youtube.

  • i think it was slow as it might have been a school choir, and there are a lot of people. This is a difficult piece, and can be sung in so many different ways.

  • Its giving me goosebumps, its the best one i
