When I went to Detroit warehouse parties in the late 90s ("when I was your age") - This, Theo Parrish and Roy Davis Jr. were the core of Deep House...

It's changed so much. I like almost all genres of electronic dance music (NO TRANCE!) - but this stuff is special.

Now that's REAL roots! Anyone who loves this should check out the incredible Nicholas Brother's, who are in this video. Hollywood was very segregated in the 1940's and it prevented these two from having speaking roles, but they STILL left their mark with dance, and set the bar impossibly high. See their INSANE "Stormy Weather" number on Youtube. Just saw Moodymann and Rick Wilhite last week here in NY and they were amazing! Love and respect to Detroit!!! True house.
