That's ok. Let the Democrats continue to ignore the will of WE THE PEOPLE. Depending on the particular poll, between 70% to 85% of the American people think that the government should immediately divest its ownership of GM and Chrysler. The PEOPLE know this is unconstitutional government meddling in the private sector. The PEOPLE are going to speak very clearly in the 2010 and 2012 elections.
Great idea. To over come the problem mentioned by the President of GM of making an orderly offering, the stock should be offered as Restricted Stock Units (RSU's). Businesses issue RSU's to employees all the time that cannot be sold, traded, or vested until a certain timeframe has passed.
Offering RSU's to taxpayers would help keep the taxpayers from selling off the stock too quickly causing GM to crash, but still give them the desired exposure to the company's success and voting shares.
Last month the Senate rejected this legislation 59-38. Only one Democrat voted for it.
Figures the leftist democRATs figure they can do better to hold it than the people who paid for it.
