I got one of these warthogs on halo three and gave all 3 marines in the back a rocket launcher, it was hard keeping them all together though

You could grab a plasma pistol and disable the other warthog that gets blowen to peices. keep disabling it until u get to the driver seat then just get in side and drive to the left near the water until it says checkpoint done. then drive back to the action, for more fun get the rocket launcher and give it to a marine then get him to ride in ur warthog for more BOOM

You can do this on any difficulty... I did this before i seen it on youtube. I was messin around and i knew the wraiths would go to that spot so i targeted there and as soon as they rolled in they died and the hog was on fire. I di it on normal though. It was just on fire.

You dont need to do anything special to get this. Bungie meant for it to be destroyed by the 2 wraith that spawn right beside it, but you simply got lucky and it wasn't destroyed.

@dapenguin2 No that's the one on fire, the other one, which you can only get with 3 or more players. If you noticed it wasn't on fire, and there were no marines near it.

@dapenguin2 Actually it has a kill timer so it automatically blows up after 30 seconds or so. That one is on fire. The one he had is an easter egg that spawns if you do what he did; it was brand new.

You can just do this map on Easy and snipe the driver out of it as he drives by sideways. Takes a few tries, but it works. By the way... Seraph? I gotta check that out...

As this is the final Halo game made by Bungie, they put in a lot of easter eggs including a bunch of fan-requested one, like this transport worthog. As a joke they actually made a golden "warthog" in Reach, its just the Unidentified Flatbed Truck you found in the first mission. You can also fly pelican, phantom, seraph and a bunch of civilian vehicles (forklifts, carts, trucks, etc.) all without mods.

Its also possible they put in Scarab Gun at the level Tip of the Spear Im not sure.
