African culture was taken away from 'African Americans' when America became a nation and locked indentured servants into "perpetual servitude." From there blacks created the African Creole culture, which eventually died. Then the Black culture was created, based on the Black church. Thank you...I am not sure what you would call someone but I do believe that if have a certain percentage of African-American genes, and that is a very small percentage, than you are considered African-American.
