@CorpRobledo Sure thing. This is part of the soundtrack for the 90's TV Show Twin Peaks that ran from 1990-1991. It has gained a large cult following since. The main plot of the show is the investigation of the murder of the popular teenager Laura Palmer. It spins off into many subplots though. It is in no way based on a real story. I think you owe yourself to watch it, it's amazing television. A little warning: There's a chance you might get "hooked". :)
The murder isn't so much the plot as a plot device. As Lynch intended it, the investigation existed just to thread the series along, with the focus being the characters' interaction. But once he left the show, the meddling twats who ran things went and solved it...Humbug.

I already know who the killer is (via basic reasoning skills) but the show's awesome even without that mystery. I like the crispness of this version better than the original actually. Particularly in the piano section starting at 1.00. Covers a greater range. Great show.
@michaelvanderkley1 No, this particular rendition is by a keyboardist named Ed Starink. You can find this piece on one of his "Synthesizer Greatest" albums that were produced back in the early 90's I believe. He has done covers of many pieces by keyboardists such as Vangelis and Giorgio Moroder.
This is, hands down, absolutely my favorite piece of music in creation. I'm a fan of lots of different kinds of music, but I am for the most part, a metal head. I'd say 85% of what I listen to is metal and hard rock, but this song just moves me in a way that I fail to express with words. It is perfection, it is melancholy, it is moving and tragic, yet hopeful and it achieves this without words or context. Then when you add the context of Laura Palmer's story, it becomes all the more powerful.
I will never in my life forget this face. The scene, when Lauras father got informated about her death at the telephone and goes on his knees was so absolutely epic...

I was named Laura after Laura Palmer, the series came out right before I was born. I recently watched the first and half of the second season and I loved it.

Brings tears to my eyes. Twin Peaks was based on a true story. When I turned 16 (1987) my parents moved to Seattle. It was here I met a girl named Laura, we fell in love, she was my first and will always be my true love. We went camping at Cedar River. I woke in the middle of the night to find Laura missing. I searched everywhere for her but couldn't find her. Three days later the police found her downstream in the Cedar. The police officer in charge exclaimed, "She's dead, wrapped in plastic"

I like the crispness of this version better than the original actually. Particularly in the piano section starting at 1.00. Covers a greater range. Great show.

@michaelvanderkley1 No, this particular rendition is by a keyboardist named Ed Starink. You can find this piece on one of his "Synthesizer Greatest" albums that were produced back in the early 90's I believe. He has done covers of many pieces by keyboardists such as Vangelis and Giorgio Moroder.

This is, hands down, absolutely my favorite piece of music in creation. I'm a fan of lots of different kinds of music, but I am for the most part, a metal head. I'd say 85% of what I listen to is metal and hard rock, but this song just moves me in a way that I fail to express with words. It is perfection, it is melancholy, it is moving and tragic, yet hopeful and it achieves this without words or context. Then when you add the context of Laura Palmer's story, it becomes all the more powerful.
