crsmith, the filming of this season has been long done already. It skipped a week most likely because it was 4th of July weekend and a lot of people would have been out of town, which means low episode ratings, which matters a lot to the series of True Blood because it matters a lot to HBO.
thats because it didnt air last sunday, lol, this one took another week to air, unfortunately.
according to my biffle whos also addicted to TB, said it was just a rerun, i guess in the moment of it all, we didnt read the time it was suppose to premiere lol.
sucks to wait another week.
but reading the books beforehand, make it only better. (:

Damn Eric is so friggin sexy! I read an interview with Nelsan Ellis (lafayette) and he says that some sort friendship will develop between Eric and Lafayette. He also let it slip that there will be a season 3. I think Eric likes Lafayette's sass and hi hunger for money and power.
If they keep strictly to the books there are no surprises, and what works for the book doesn't necessarily work for TV. We'd never have Tara or Lafayette if they stuck with the books. :(
Her role isn't as big in the books, the TV show fleshed her out a bit more and gave her more of a purpose. She's nowhere in the first novel but she's all over season 1, so I'm grateful to Alan Ball. lol.
Yes, but if AB stayed true to Eric's character (let's face it he's all I care about) then the world would know how fun, sexy, and flirty he is. Everyone would know how thoughtful he is of Sookie, and how hot their connection was from the beginning. They are much cuter in the books.

See, I totally disagree. I tried to read the books and just found them so badly written that I couldn't get through it. I'm pleased as hell that Alan Ball is changing it up, because I trust his vision completely. Man is a genius.

I'm a fan of the books and the series and without Charlaine's books there would be no True Blood. I like the tweaks and changes he has made however he got his base ideas from already developed characters. There have been some tweaks AB has done that I felt should have been left alone. For example Sam can picture an animal in his mind and shift. For example in From Dead to Worse he shifts into a lion. Another example is the vamps help heal Sooke by licking her wounds because their saliva heals.
We'll have to agree to disagree, proposals. I have read the books since they were first published. I waited 2 years for the show to come on the air, heck I knew why the show was going to be called True Blood in the first place. We are coming from different places. I know what Sookie and the gang are SUPPOSED to do VS. what happens on the show. So when favorite scenes are skipped I get pissed. I have to keep reminding myself that the show and the novels are two different things.
Thats why..honestly.. In my opinion. EITHER watch the shows OR read the books, but don't do both at the same time or you will end up pissed off like me. You think you know whats coming and then wham.. something else. If it WAS like the books Bill and Sookie would break up and she'd get with Eric and yadda yadda.. No one REALLY wants that, we just kind of want to see Eric get at that. :P
This show is addicting. Two weeks.. thats just hogshit. I agree, Jessica and Hoyt should get together i think he'd be good for her. My suspicion is that Daphne is a werewolf. When they scratch you you become one so i'm thinking she became one when one scratched her(hense the scar). Anyone else think this?
lafayette aint a vampire. he wouldnt wanna let his uncle fix his leg if he was one. so he isnt a vampire. but eric wants somethin from him. we'll see what it is.

I don't know if it was my imagination, but in the end of the episode Daphne is taking her clothes off and we see the scratchers, right? Well, I thought I saw her eyes all devil-like, like the ones of the poeple in the party. But it was dark, and maybe I just imagined it.

And all this Lafayette goodness is making me nervous. Like almost everyone else, I adore him, and I was hoping he would have a more important role this season. Apparently, he does. The guy is so badass.

It was just a really bad job at photoshop . Normally they would take an actual photo of the actress and then edit that face on to the "stand in" in the shot. The person who was editing it did a really bad job and made her look almost look zombie-ish.

Well, could be, but that scar is from the same creature that scrachted Sookie's back, and that wasn't a werewolf. So I don't know.
And, god, I hope Lafayette will become a vampire. It would be very interesting, especially him being ERIC's vampire. Priceless.
