Great! And what´s this, almost a battle field here?
Each one has opinions.
Mine is that it´s very good. I´m learning this song right now (yet second page xD), i´m thinking hard to read, and just for this, i´re looking for videos, and i found this one.
Good.
Just as the friend talked about, your posture should be improved. =)
It is a great piece, but even though it may seem sad all over, but you must always see it from all the angles, and I think it´s not depression sad, it´s just like sad towards depression. It just feels right for me, it´s always subjetive, since we are artists, friends, not scientists.
I don´t even know what an ATCL is! I´m 13 years old, in fifth year of piano studies, 8th grade at school, and finished studying the piece about a month after starting it, because of the other pieces I was studying along with this one.
Forgot to say, this IS a fifth year of piano studies piece. It may be dificult on the left hand, but once you get it, you just do the same thing for the rest of the piece, with some diferences, but the rest is almost the same. You just need to know how to study, some tricks here, some there, and you got your left hand.
@TheYellowHalo First of all, don´t call noob people who are making SERIOUS comments, second of all, I play this song too, and I´m not making a bad critic of it, she´s just giving her honest and humild opinion of how she think this could sound even better. If YOU knew something about romanticism you would know that it is something normal to make a ritardando at the start, for it to be more emotional. Seriously, you could know that from Art History, and I´m not talking about music history.
Really, i´m confused. i have heard this piece a thousand times over and over from diferent people, but this seems like a different vertion. i´m learning to play it, and it´s hard, but i dont think that it is tha hardest ever (without trying to ofend). in my opinion you should try making a bit more rit. at the start. it could be helpful to making it mendelssohn style. a bit more romantic. my way of seing it is like a bit less sad.
If your such a low level noob as you are right now , PLEASE don't give advice like this. You know nothing and that comment just totally changed my view of you.
ugh, i play this song as well, and am doing it for a ribbon festival. it's the hardest piece i've ever played. besides, beethoven is quite easy when you drill certain places. i think she did very well playing the piece, and being fluent.
body language.. a total turn off.. sorry.. regardless of how you do it cleanly.. I wasnt drawn.. especially I know this piece by heart and have competed in few competitions with this piece...
pretentious comments like these piss me off. piano players that think they're the shit can kiss my foot. i am starting one of the song without words for the first time, never even touched mendelssohn b4, so im excited. but noone cares if you've memorized it and competed. just tell her she should improve posture, thats the polite way to do it. no need to be an asshole, buddy, and besides where's your recording of this peice, huhuh???
