Thanks for this. It brought back many memories. I left Merton Park in 1958 (am now in Cheshire) and was at the primary school - which we often called St Mary's - from 1948-53. I was baptised at the church. So much - under the snow at least! - hasn't changed. Dr Seaton- Winton had the house on the corner of Church Lane and Kingston Road; and Dorset Road hadn't heard of trams (they were up in Wimbledon, waiting to be replaced by trolley buses...).
