We need a new constitution really. The old one still had enough provisions and law work-arounds to lead to this exact situation, which means it will do it again in the future.

If we keep the old one we have to ensure that education is clear on WHY it was made that way so we don't go against it... along with other provisions like the Posse Comotatus act. The (false) testimony about Afghanistan was obtained through torture. That was against Geneva conventions. He pardoned himself by rewriting the way America interprets the act and redefined torture.

i don't think they started torturing people ON 9-11. first they would have to find possible suspects, round them up and get trusted agents willing to torture and keep it a secret. that would likely take a few days. if the pardon were only to include torture related incidents, why not make the pardon go back to 9-12 or 9-13? i think there is a reason it goes all the way back to 9-11, and it's not an accident.
