  • @achaser123 what lense did you shoot the skiiers with that where going off the jump at night with the strobe light??????

  • Is it just me or does Chase, when uttering slang superlatives i.e. "sick, filthy, nasty, etc.", sound like he just recently started using those words- like when an english teacher trys so hard to be hip with his high school class

  • i love the sound of that strobe

  • Wish I'm in this crew:(

  • So, the athletes didn't get epileptic attacks after repeating this so many times? :D

  • Absolutely love the sound of that strobe. wow a sounds like a war in space lmao

  • Hey Chase, is it possible to get the same results with speedlights? I don't have the same budget as you do and don't have the needs for strobes other then for ski shooting. so it would be unnecessary to buy something and use it for a short period of time.

  • how do you set up the strobes? i dont get it? do i put my d90 with long exposure? Thanks

  • Wonder if a long exposure with a stroboscopic setting on canons 580EX2 can do something similar? Interesting application!

  • so why don't you use a continuous light?

anyway great work and thank you for sharing!

  • spectacular

  • You are my hero

  • I love the atmosphere of your shoots... just like how everyone's having a laugh while producing some great work... 'THIS IS GONNA BE SIIIICK!!!' lol

  • That is so great..! I especially love the last photo sequence with the yellow jacket (west I assume?) at dusk. The strobes really make it pop in that beautiful dark background. Beautiful. Plus, he looks pretty freakin' sweet in the air.!

  • pffff tu n'expliques rien du tout !! tu montres juste ton matos et je ne suis pas convaincu par le résultat ... A suivre ....

Délire ! je vérifie l'expo en regardant le rendu de ma photo sur l'écran .

    bref sans aucun interet .

  • Dude dont run that equipment on that Gen Set your CRAZY there is equipment to protect and clean the power

  • Dear Chase...

    You... are... God...

  • what was the f number and how do you focus on the moving object?? thank you for the video

  • The athletes must be epileptic by the end of this session

  • How do you guys make the single pictures you take into the one final one at the end???

  • I'm interested in metering of the camera. Is it matrix for the background only to be the sky normal and after that light the skier?

  • Whats this effect called or editing thats used to overlay all the pictures together?

  • Filthy, just sordid and filthy! Matrix cams have nothing on you guys!

  • thats insane , but any way what kind of flash do i need for sequences?

  • 1:13 better than an orgasm :D:D:D:D:D

  • in the end u still u use photoshop !!!!

  • very cool

  • BRONCOLOR = WIN!

  • How do I combine 8fps images into one! Like at the end..u see all the action! Thank you

  • @kprsx layering on photoshop

  • Sick!! What sort of focus system were you using?

  • Were you using the 12-24 for this?

  • What can I say that it hasn't been said already? Truly amazing man! Just keep those videos coming for our inspiration!! Thanks again.

  • Nice work. Gave me so many Ideals.

  • Thanks for the inspiration Chase .... More notice when you come to NZ next please :)

  • P.S: Thanks for sharing. Chase is a god, he got the energy, I love watching those videos. ...

    Peace.

  • This is a photographer, I wanna have same skills. I am already owning my 3rd Nikon body. d40, d90 and d300s: -) . Maybe one day, but I am a graphic designer and a programmer at the same time. Go and google for Moroz Any Image Converter - opens even NEF Raw!

  • what' with the beeping sound then??? i wonder how he set his AF.

  • big thing you left out and secret or important question was what was the Fstop shutter speed and flash duration made little compared to fstop.

  • Chase you're a monster!!!!!

  • The last set of pictures showing the entire sequence blew my mind. Fantastic!

Being in physics, I truly appreciate such beautiful showcasing of projectile motion.

  • sorry this for noob question. anyone knows how to achieve that effect at 4:43. THANKS! :D

  • Keep the camera steady on a tripod. Shoot strobes like seen in the video. Then in photoshop or gimp combine all the images and Bingo!

  • when they tests if the broncolor can keep up with the frame rate.... why dos the strob seem to not have an even flash like it looks like half is lite and than only abit ????

  • the flashes arent perfectly synced with the video. the video is recorded at 24 or 30frames per second, and the flashes are sometimes happening between frame, or half in the frame.

  • Because it's not in sync with the video camera that's shooting it. You can get the same effect on your own slr if you set your shutter speed too high or beyond the max sync speed of the camera.

  • because hes filming with a cheap camera and the sensor cant take in that much light, that fast and all at once, so you get the bar that you see. also happens to cameras with rolling shutters.

  • Nice vid! impressive..

  • sweeeeetttt images at the end!

  • what lens was he using?

  • I guess it was 14-24. But I may be wrong because I'm using a canon gear.

  • Nikon 14-24

  • who cares about the technology - I WANT those assistants that are turning the flash heads, haha =)

great shoot, great vid, just great. thx a lot.

  • Chase, First off great job on the skiing video, but i want to know, How did you get the skier to do the repeating images, like where i saw 10-20 skiers all in a line? I thought that was cool, i have a Nikon D50, with a SB -800 flash. How can i get pics to do that? Thanks

  • about 100x more power and equipment worth 10000$.

    Photography isn't cheap..

  • Yeah, I found the money part wasn't cheap. But thanks for the comment anyway

  • try renting for about $100 !

  • D50 doesn't have a high enough FPS to do that.

  • @tim66214 learn how to edit! i have made a few videos explaination of how but when there is twenty it take a good while

  • Sweet. I like how you added I'm the stairs/railing at the end too.

  • I like how the sync cable come undone :) But yeah. amazing shooting. How many hours Scott is doing postwork on one that kind of image?

  • love the videos!

its nice when the pros show you how its done!

keep the good work up chase!

  • Hey bro thanks for the tutorial. It is always cool when people take the time to show setups and gear, look forward to seeing more. I M A Canon guy.

  • Fantastic video and shots....really great work as always!

Just a Q: The D3 max FPS in FX format is 9, and not 8 FPS as you say in the video. Are you tuning the FPS rate down for a reason? or is it 9 you mean? Don´t mean to be picky just curious.

Just got the ProFoto 8Air to use the same high speed technique in other types of shots.

    Anyway great woork!

  • nikon used to report 8fps for d3...somewhere along the lines they upped it to 9. so I guess 9 it is.

regarding the profoto. great pack for sure, but consider that the broncolor scoro is a 3200 w/s pack whereas the profoto is only 2400. as such you can get the same fps using both, but with 1/3 more power using the bronc. sidenote: the broncolor is also less expensive than the profoto.

  • @achaser123 did you tested side by side profoto 8a vs broncolor Scoro prior to select broncolor? thanks!

  • Comment removed

  • Fucking hell. Them packs and heads are amazing. I have to make do with my hotshoe strobes on 1/16th for flashed skateboarding seqs.

Too bad that's $15,000 in lighting gear, not including genny, camera, lenses etc. But hell, he's Chase Jarvis, he does what he wants!

  • brilliant!

  • Did Chase get that thing off from Bumble Bee's arm???

  • Wow... I am speechless...

  • this is insane... what camera did you use

  • nikon d3

  • COOOOOL

    I like your channel.

    I'm a photographer from Belgium

Your a role model for me=)

    Greeeets

    Thiago Struys

  • amazingly beautiful

  • YAY!!!!! AF-S 24-70 f/2.8!! :D

BEST 24-70 on the market!! ^^,

D3 was great D3S rules NOW LOL

  • d3s isnt much better than d 3 and d3x

  • @RobyllPhotos

The D3S is way better than the D3, the new sensor has made the images way less grainy/noisy compared to the D3 at the same ISO!

  • Zeiss is better ;)

  • He was using the 14-24 2.8.

  • Thank you so much Chase for sharing this with us ! I appreciate it man !

  • Omg, this is sick))

  • that was cool... (:

  • Pretty dang cool Chase!!!

  • I have so been looking foreward to this^^
