you people really don"t get it!!! there in constant free fall around the earth. there is gravity or how is the moon held in orbit but the astronauts just float?! they appear to float because there in side a free falling object that because of its speed and lack of friction in space is falling around not towards earth. in primary school your taught there's no gravity... a massive simplification

@hisssyffffit There is absolutely gravity in space. At the astronaut's height above the Earth there is about 90% the gravitational force on the surface of the Earth (there are mathematical calculations that can be done to prove this). If gravity didn't exist in space the Earth would not orbit the Sun and the Moon wouldn't orbit the Earth. Freefall is what causes the astronauts to feel weightless, not because there is no gravity.

Because even though the other comments on this video seem to think the astronauts float in the shuttle because of zero gravity are mistaken..... the kid in the video's explanation does not make it clear how and why the shuttle is falling around the earth. A simple metaphor would have easily demonstrated this.
