  • I followed your video step by step and my clutch is still slipping.. i adjusted the nut at the bottom of the clutch lever cable and tried adjusting the screw on the other clutch lever adjuster and still slipping.. anything else i should do or look for????

  • @MrDaren6969 worn plates? thick oil additive like STP?

How much "free play" is in your lever?, you should have about 15mm at the tip from resting position to where you get resistance in the cable.

If you have non this could be your problem

  • @sniper152 I bought the kit.. came with the fiber plates, which i soaked in oil for over 24hrs, the steel plates and the springs.. installed them and there was no tension in the lever, so i adjusted til the tension felt right.. i took it on the highway but really didnt get on it and it felt alright, then my buddy got on it a little and started slipping again.. im gonna check the mm resistance your talking about.. if thats alright, what should i do next???

  • @MrDaren6969 did you use brand new springs? did the fiber plates have straight grooves or where they at an angle? angled grooves need to installed in a certain direction (angled right or left). What kit did you use? I believe the last plate is also installed 1 groove over from the rest. other than everything I mentioned I can't say for sure

  • @sniper152 yEs brand new everything. The kit i bought was a Barnett clutch kit. Dont remember any angles on the plates. they were pretty basic like the originals. and yes i rotated the last one as you showed in the video.. gotta be something in the clutch adjustments.

  • @MrDaren6969 OK, take all your adjustments in so you have maximum play in the lever, start at the bottom, adjust out till you have about 1 inch of play in the end of the lever then fine adjust at the lever adjuster. You need 15mm play at the END of the lever. not enough free play will cause the clutch to drag and slip.

Barnett springs are very stiff so I doubt the problem is there, maybe take it apart and retrace your path.

  • @sniper152 k ill try that and get back to you, thanks

  • I think the first plate you put was steel...

  • it just looks that way because of the editing, if you pause it just as the steel goes on you can see the fiber plates drive tab sticking up.

    thanks though, good eye.
