I saw Martin Grech at the Newcastle Uni union in 2003 along with about 30 other people. It was amazing, so raw and visceral. He is criminally underated, I hope he gets his shit put out there properly one day.

He received some bad criticism from Marillion fans. presumably for not playing "Open heart zoo"

I remember once seeing Grech (the third time I've seen him) and he coulden't quite hit that last note, he almost got there and then went "...shit". Shows just how incredible it is when he normally sings it I guess. Hopfully I'll get to see him again some time, in whatever musicical incarnation he is working with.

I just wish I had the whole thing. Presumeably, since it was filmed, the entire gig is available as a soundboard recording. Since YouTube videos are compressed, send me a message if you'd like high-quality audio of these two songs.

I only had the chance to see Mr. Grech once, in York in 2005. It was amazing, and I just wish I'd taken some good recording equipment with me then. There is precious little live material of his available. :(

There's a Marillion DVD set called Wish You Were Here which on one disc has a load of performances from support acts throughout the 2003 Marillion Weekend festivals. I took the videos from there.

Thanks for the feedback. Sadly those are the only Grech videos I have. If I come across anything decent in the future I'll definitely put it up, though.
