It's just missing Luxo jr. which is considering the very limited computing power of that time simply a brilliant masterpiece. Using computers most people couldn't use to write a letter on to bring two lamps completely to life within 2 minutes. That's not programming. That's art...
I'm surprised this doesn't have more views; This is amazing! Great work! I agree that Pixar is the best animation studio ever. The imagination and stories their films convey have had a great effect on my life.
The amount of effort and time spent on this had to have been immense, notice how well everything went together. @Fishdarkshark, I don't think even a Dreamwork's fan could vote this down.
@delafun Read his bio... Of course all those people are as important as jobs, but without him there would be no pixar... So yeah, you have to thank him as well!
@delafun I think the "thank you Steve Jobs" is because, without Steve Jobs, Pixar would never have been able to do Toy Story and all these films, because it was the first to believe in Pixar and give the money to keep Pixar alive...
*not my account* this is truelly inspiring, i love pixar and u captured every emotion so perfectly.. its a dream of mine to one day be a part of the disneys pixar team, thank u for this. its rekindling a flame in me that i thought was lost... :)
I'm thinking of making a huge tribute to Disney animation, starting from the very beginning and going all the way to the most recent movie, should I include Pixar films, or should I stick to Walt Disney Studios Movies only?
personally i think u should do a seperate video with just disney animation, and also one with the combination of the two. id like to see where it goes... :D ur very talented.
@toon5town Thanks for the feedback, Oh, and I haven't uploaded anything yet, those playlists are all made up links to other people's videos, I was just trying to get thier videos to where they could be seen by a few more people.
Today we watched this in our Philosophy class and I fell in love with it. Everyone in our class felt identified with this movies. They have played such an important part in our childhood and our lives. We are now considering to graduate under the theme of Pixar or Up!
"Thanks for the adventure. Now go and have one of your own." ~Ellie (Up!)
I signed in just to say: I want Warner Bros Cartoon characters to come to this type of animation. Bugs Bunny, Daffy, Road Runner. Heck, make a Roger Rabbit sequel and don't forget Jessica Rabbit! Woody Woodpecker and even tex avery cartoons. This type of animation (like this new Rio movie) is the best. Sorry hand made ones. I love you too.
Pixar is great.... but there are still some subliminal messages in their movies, which really bugs me. I suspect this is because Disney owns them, and Disney loads all their movies up with subliminal messages. I hate Disney, love Pixar. I think everyone at Pixar should quit and form a new studio. After this, they could make great movies, without the sexual messages embed in them. Especially the one in Cars 2. Anyone else notice the strip club in Radiator Springs, with the "Bumper Feeler" sign?
@justinehler at least they don't actually show sexual references in front of the audiences faces, like Dreamworks Animation, look at their film Monsters vs. Aleins "Oh relax Cuthbert, its just like dancing, ill lead" What Was That
Everything is better in moderation. That's why Pixar is so great. It's perfected beauty that is never rushed. Just think, 25 years and only 11 movies. That's because they take their time with every single film.
the next time time somebody goes off on a rant about how pixar sucks because cgi is heartless and killed hand-drawn (for the record i prefer 2d but i still love pixar to death) and blah blah blah i will shove this in their face.
I've been trying to figure out how these animated movies dealing with cars, toys, bugs, robots, and monsters can have such a profound effect on me and other people, and it really hit me in the La Vie en Rose part: it doesn't matter how it's presented. What Pixar's movies revolve around is the relationships the characters have with one another, and it really brings out the human emotions that everyone can relate to, no matter who you are. These films are for everybody, because we're all human.
i can't imagine any anime companys beating pixar or doing anything as good. they can give similar feelings on certain stuff, but they can't make you almost cry (well some of them can)
I just love Pixar movies!! I wait year after year for the next best animation movie, the one make by Pixar, this year Cars 2 :) Anyway beautiful job making this videoI
