  • I love my country.

  • The Energy of the Immigrats made great this country and they keep making even more greater because en times of hardship still working hard for their families. God Bless America and the immigrants who work hard to make great to the United Staes of America..

  • What a classy video...America, America, what a word...Hope for a better life, for a chance to be or become what one is capable of...

I have come to this lovely country nigh 33 years ago, coming from a place where there was freedom indeed as well, yet as Neil said "never to look back. Thank you America...

  • Awesome video!!!!!! Great work

  • Very nice job, though, just to be fair, I think you should have included some images of slaves (I know they are not an offically allowed part of our mythology, but America would not be what it is without free slave labor).

  • This is a very impressive video. Are you a cinetographer?

  • @MPL029 thank you! No I am not professional, it is my hobby, but I dream to be filmmaker!

  • @mermaid22ua I totally expected this to be a dreadful video but was completely surprised at how well done it is. Im an actor and have done alot of film. you have talent..keep at it.

  • When I heard this song as I kid. I felt so proud and patriotic. Nowadays, I miss the old USA I grew up with. Lately, it's become... something else, over the years.

Personally, I think it's not up to the politicians in Washington D.C. to change things for the future. Remember that document our Founding Father's wrote? It's first line emphasized on who is in power in America... It's "WE THE PEOPLE". It's up to each and every one of us to change America for the better.

  • @PeoplesGeneral actually, the founding fathers didn't want everyday citizens to have too much influence over the US. They believed it would inevitably lead to the tyranny of the majority. That is why senators were originally elected by state legislature. Fun Fact...

  • @gloheart1 Yes, I agree. Sadly, that freedom that our forefathers knew and fought for, now appears to be waning more and more. I fear that before the end of 5 years the US as we now know it may not exist. That's another convo for a different time though. LOL

  • What's the building you keep showing? It is shown around 2:45.

  • @tall32guy it is building of Museum of immigration on the Ellis island

  • @mermaid22ua OK! Thank you for the info! And that you much for the video my dear. :):)

  • This was used at our city's yearly 4th of July fireworks many years back, as well as "God Bless America". I think 'God Bless the USA' was also used as well one year. It was amazing and almost gave me chills! I always did like this song!

  • I sometimes wonder where I would be today, if my ancestors had'nt came to America from Germany & Ireland & other countries everywhere around the world... Then I realize, I Would'nt Be! I Love Neil Diamond, Great video..***** Happy Thanksgiving

  • My elementary school teachers were great when it came to activities about patriotism and immigration, too. I know our country has its share of problems, but I miss the innocence we kids had when it came time to sing or put on a Thanksgiving play. My parents missed Ellis Island- they got here a few years after it stopped being a receiving point for new arrivals- but I love the museum and the way it's featured in this video for my favorite song about America.

  • Jesus bless america!!!!

  • I remember when i sang this song in 3rd grade with my whole class:)

  • mermaid22ua. thanks again. Neil Diamond owes you for what you added to his song

  • I almost cry every time I hear this song. It always gets me so nostalgic about my elementary school days. My fourth grade teacher was teaching us about pilgrims to America across its entire history, and she taught us this song to sing as part of a huge project involving acting like immigrants from different places and times.

This song will always be an important part of my memory :,)

    Love you forever Mrs. Forsythe!

  • What a lovely video! Someone said that you captured the essence of this song, and I must agree!

All of my grandparents came here in the early 1900's from 4 different countries. They had to learn English and work hard in order to thrive, and they had to start from the bottom and work their way up in this new country they found themselves in...now THEIR country.

You did a great job, and the video/song gave me goosebumps!

Thank you SO much for this wonderful video, mermaid22ua!!!

  • Very done miss. As for the guy who said "dude", perhaps he should have noticed your mermaid handle. But anyway, my compliments. You encapsulate what this song means to me and I am sure to many others. My guess is that those with the moxie and gumption to leave their homeland have helped make us what we are. and you illustrated it well.

  • @goodtogonow3 Thank you!

  • This song has a whole new meaning these days....

  • My ancesters helped build the New Orleans levy during the 1840's because it was cheaper to have an Irishmen just off the boat than to use an expensive slave. If the Mick died, no problem, as there was another one off of the next boat. They were starving to death in Ireland and getting here as fast as they could.

  • Just watched your video. Great Job....:-) I love it.

  • This song is a masterpiece. The American spirit which has now extended overseas & caused "freedom's light" to be "burning warm" in ever more former dictatorships is embodied in it. Fortunately, US type free enterprise is also spreading, allowing hundreds of millions of our fellow human beings to live in a "new & shiny place" in their own native lands. Myself & my fellow anti-hunger volunteers have worked 30 years to see this level of progress. Peace, Love, Bread & Justice to ALL.

  • to the one who put this together. WONDERFUL WONDERFUL!!!!!!!!!

  • Im a Swedish guy but in my hole life i have wanted to visit America some day i will that ps. I love this song ;)

  • @Level10Review - Swing by Minnesota - I've never been to Sweden, but they say the Swedes and Norwegians settle here because the climate was so similar...:)

  • Legal immigration!!! The way it should be!!!!

  • Great video...and the song of course from the best...

  • To this day and always, we contnue to be a brave and strong country. God Bless The USA!!

  • Wonderful Wonderful. My geat grandfather arrived in New Orleans from Ireland and helped build the levys and then went to Cincinatti to be a fireman. This was befor the civil war. It was cheaper to hire an Irishmen right off of the boat than it was to risk a slave to build the levys as so many of them died.

  • very well done dude

  • @ervin920 thanks, I am not dude, I am chick :)

  • @mermaid22ua oh lol. still very nicely done

  • Well done! To say the least!!!

  • 26 people got deported....and aren't coming to America. lol

  • i'm glad I found this one. saw it few days ago and spent the last hour trying to find again.

  • What a beautiful and stirring song~ and your video totally captured the feeling of it all!

EXCELLENT job, and thank you so much for sharing it with the rest of us!!!

  • Before Lee Greenwood and "God Bless the USA"; before Toby Keith and "Courtesy of the Red, White, and Blue"; and well before 9/11, was Neil Diamond, and "America"! As a military member who has lived overseas, this song holds so true to this day as ever! To anyone from any country "where do you want to go to live?" They will say, "America!"

  • GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!

  • Wow. This is great work00I love the combination of old & new, also the symbolism is very rich throughout the video & what an eye for detail you have with the tiny flag sticker on the truck, etc....I am showing this to my adult ESL students tomorrow during our immigration unit! Thank you!

  • I've always found it most interesting and thought-provoking that the people who have the best things to say about America are never native-born Americans, but immigrants. They have the perspective, they know what it's like to be denied freedoms, and as such, freedom is so much dearer to them. While I am against illegal immigration, I absolutely love legal immigration, regardless of a person's race, ethnicity, religion, any of that.

  • Well done...Happy Independence day!

  • Hey....who are the 25 illegal immigrants that disliked this song??

  • Happy 4th of July! Thank you for posting this beautiful video you did an awesome job. I was not have born in this here but becoming an US Citizen has been on one of the proudest moments in my life. God bless American!

  • My family's Persian. I was born in US. My family & I disagree about many things. 1 of the things we do agree on is [in their own words] after visiting family in Iran, coming back home to US, they wanna kiss the good dirt of the USA. Now, nothing against other nations. I just desire democracy & a free Iran man. My dad once told my uncle, "Americans are 'a' mighty & free people!" Iranians are mighty but not free.

    Let's show Iranians we care.

Please thumbs up for Free & Friendly Iran. Happy 4th!

  • @TheShahradselahvarzi I really hope America and Iran can be friends again!

  • @TheShahradselahvarzi

you were born in THE US

coming back home to THE US.

    .

    THE is very important. =)

  • Happy 4th of July!!!!!!

  • Thanks and happy fourth of July!!!!!!!! This makes me feel proud to be an American!

  • Great Job, you captured the essence of the song. God Bless this Beautiful Country. I am proud to be an American, I am proud of our history and I hope with new leadership I will be proud of our future. Happy 4th!!!!!!!!

  • @drefunk48 Thank you and happy Independence Day to everyone in this country!

  • Nice job, mermaid! Thank you!!

  • Proud to be an American....for the life of me a fireworks show on the 4th wouldn't be one without this song....

  • america is a good country I love it

  • As we start to celebrate the 4th of July weekend, I found your video with America by Neil Diamond to be very moving. Thank you.

  • I get goosebumps when I hear this song. You value the freedoms we enjoy in this country. GOD BLESS AMERICA: Sweet Land of Liberty! Hang on to a dream!

  • very good thanks

  • as far decendants of itilian father welcome to america!

  • My great-great aunt, whose descendents live in New Jersey, probably saw all this when she arrived in the early 1900s. Greetings from Ireland

  • As a kid, my mom and I used to dance to this song in the living room. I don't know why, but it was very special to me. Still a great song!

  • I think you did a great job, this is one of my favorite songs!!

  • Thanks from Australia for your efforts. It brings back pleasant memories of a tour through there last year. I look forward to more of your productions.

    Cheers

  • yep, my grammar terrible :) so what?

and another thing is that I am not going to approve liberal "sob" comments.

  • Great Video!! :)

  • Great vid bro! Gotta love the land of the free!

  • Thank you for the video. My ancestors came through Ellis Island. Saw their names on the wall.

  • yo no soy gringo, pero esta cancion me llena de jubilo, gracias por neil, saludos!!!

I am not a gringo, but this song fills me with joy, thanks for neil, Greetings!

  • great audio of all the similar uploads...thanks

  • Thank you for posting this video! :)

    Very nice video!

I knew people who came through Ellis Island; the conditions in Europe were so bad for the common man and woman that many were willing to risk everything to come here.

America; the last best hope of government for mankind!

"God Bless America; Land That I Love!

(God) Stand beside her and guide her..."

    Amen!

  • Thanks for this awesome video. Bin laden is dead God bless america.

  • @palmyrarocks God bless america indeed! No matter how bad the outcome seems we Americans will never fall! USA!

  • @HairyDONG69 we've already fallen so so far. I guess a better way to say it would be, "we may be down but we'll never be out" Even though I have a hard time believing that one. AMERICA USED TO BE GREAT. Now we suck, big time.

  • @G1formation With that sort of attitude, sure. But, man, consider what you're saying. Sure our economy is in a rough spot, but hell, I don't see people starving in the streets everywhere I turn. People are unemployed, yeah, but they got help from friends, family, and the government. We have our problems, sure, but, damn, we are still blessed.

  • ''this should be the national anthem !!!!!!

  • Gave me chills. My Great Grandparents came over on the "boat" and it made me think of them.

  • Oh my gosh, this is so awesome. A video visit to Ellis Island is so appropriate. I saw this and tears welled up from my heart. Bless you! Great tribute! This is also the best audio quality of the song I've found yet! Bless you again!

  • this video is amazing! would it be possible to get a copy of this in full size to use at our middle schools spring chorus concert? the kids are singing this song and we would love to show this video along side it.

  • i remeber singing this in fourth grade and asked why we needed to come to america if were already here

  • love this song

i've been travelling to the states since i was five years old & i remember my family would all sing along to this in the car from the airport to our villa

this song sticks with you for life, i've found myself singing it when i'm booking holidays to the states now as an adult

  • This video is so touching. I think about my great-grandmother and grandfather who came to this country from Eastern Europe and I am so very thankful to be an American. Thanks for the video. Well done!

  • God bless the WORLD and EVERYONE on it (including America)!

  • Magnificent job! Very well done and appreciated. God Bless the USA.:)

  • mermaid22ua-You are AWESOME!!! Very well done and thank you for sharing! God Bless!!!!

  • Truely a beautiful song but you did really made it touch my heart with the video, I started shedding tears of what a proud America we are and mostly of what we used to be, I love what you did the pics are wonderful..... Thank-you! God Bless America

  • Great video

  • Great Song & Great Photo-Video montage! If you alter/speed up the music in certain areas, Sony will leave you in peace. Check out an Example by Keyword Searching Lucille Ball, Mame! to see what I'm talking about. Aside from that, People should keep their eyes on Libya because things are getting scary; Gadaffi was never punished for Lockerbie Scotland Bombings +28yrs + now he is Threatening America & Europe with Chemical Weapons if US helps against Genocide in his Tribal Ego-Maniac Craziness..

  • the best neighbours Canada could ever hope for god bless north America

  • god bless to USA.

    freedom forever...

    fucking terrorism... ..

  • An awesome video to go with a more awesome song.

  • The colours of Old Glory will always be my three favourite colours of all time!!!

  • I like the ending part when the American flag is flying really shows a sign of both pride & joy for the American nation :)

U-S-A... U-S-A freedom for all in the land of Liberity.

  • eh despite all the hardship and retarded government, this song has a spirit about me that flips the patriotic side up and love my home.<3

  • eh not bad omg! am i crying?! hahahaha! i always do ths wen dsa song reaches 2 my heart! :D

  • Billboard's #62 song of '81. Neil hit #1 AC, #8 pop, in Billboard. Shalom, Neil!

  • sung this in the fourth grade... ive bene whistling the ending of this song for years without realizing it until a few nights ago.... i love the keyboard and i love the guitair at the begging... masterpiece of legacy and art

  • New York and Ellis island are very educational. The diversity of people you meet when you are there is amazing. With exception to the americanindians, we are all outsiders. born here or not, you are from foreign decent. Everyone should try a visit to this great city and the wonders it has to offer. Excelent video. excelent people and a truly amazing place.

  • Other than perhaps the Native American Indians, we are all immigrants to this country. We should really be thankful to the natives that were here long before us and be very grateful and humble for finding a land that was much more peaceful than other countries were at the time of mass exodus to this great nation. Now, if we could all learn to be ethically and morally connected to each other in a good way and find the true values in life. Great video, great song!!! Mark

  • come to AMERICA , work pay your taxes behave youself

  • I think it's time for you to get that entrepreunerial spirit back and create some magic. You did once before, you can do it again. Forget the "Left Thinkers" their gonna die. Right brainers awake and innovate pleeeeez

  • This video is such a beautiful accompaniment to one of my favorite songs about America. I've just come back from NYC- my hometown- and visited the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island. The museum is such an interesting place with restored areas, descriptions of the customs process, and all sorts of treasures the immigrants brought from their homelands. Watching this video brings on some great memories.

  • I read somewhere that about 80 to 90 percent of Americans can trace their ancestry to people who came through Ellis Island. My ancestors came from germany and Scotland on both sides of my family. I do get teared up at the end when the flag is flying. The image of the flag just invokes a feeling of awe and reverence in me. It should be a symbol of hope but for some around the world it is a symbol of greed and hate.

  • Wow, awesome job with this video! It reminds me of my grandparents that came to this great country in the early 1900s to find a better life for themselves.

  • I told you man, when you had only 500 views, I said this was so beautiful and I'm so happy thousands of people have found it. This is the most touching video ever, I only wish it had 22 million views peace

  • I am going to new york for the first time next may so that video just wanted me to go more. thanks a million for the video.

  • For yrs. I have longed to respond or comment about this video, It is simply a extraordinary piece of genius by Neil , as always. What he sings/writes in his songs is not rocket science. It is about life past, present and I hope our future, This video can trace the roots of America in the early 1900's . It simply about how all ethnic people from all countries came and continue to come to the USA, THE\ MELTING POT. A magnificent song from the Jazz Singer.

  • my teacher played this song when we where in class today so I looking it up....very good song! WELL DONE MR. DIMOND!

  • Nice job.

  • Very nicely done! Good job, very inspirational.

  • Thank you! It is great that some of us do remember that we are all immigrants to America!

  • hey dudes, for those who considers himselfd as a "patriot", that video is not about illegals. If you are so mad to the whole world go to other place to pour out your anger. I will never publish durty comments below my video. Sorry for my grammar mistakes. I'm even not an immigrant yet.

  • @mermaid22ua

You are welcome here, come on and get here as soon as you can.

  • @mermaid22ua good call little mermaid.

  • @mermaid22ua

YOU DID PERFECTLY WELL --- GRAMMAR WISE & ENGLISH WISE, BUT MOST IMPORTANTLY MESSAGE-WISE. NO MATTER WHERE WE ARE BORN (AND/OR RAISED) IT'S THE PERSON INSIDE WHO COUNTS. OR AM I COMPLETELY OFF BASE? PEOPLE ARE USUALLY DECENT IF GIVEN THE CHANCE DESPITE ORIGIN OR DATE OF BIRTH. LET'S SIMPLY BE KIND TO ONE ANOTHER. LIFE'S TOO SHORT AND TOO CRUEL TO DO OTHERWISE. THNX FOR POSTING, MERMAID22UA; YOU ARE LOVED.. GUESS I'M HAMMERED....LOVE, Jt

  • @mermaid22ua wise words!

  • @mermaid22ua You have my respect. It took my parents 7 years to become citizens, after leaving Ukraine. Your grammar is just fine. (Hey, I understand you). Mno Haiya Lita! =Stefan=

  • To all all those who's forefathers -or who themselves- came to the United States in search of better opportunities.

  • TODAY!!!!

  • Great video, however please post the correct song title. The song is called"America",In the song he says "They're coming to America"."They coming to America" is poor grammarand he never sings that in this song"They're" which means "they are" not to be confused with the word "they".

  • My family came her ethrough Ellis They fought for our country in wartime and some they died and now we are called mafioso. They kissed the ground when they arrived and made all their children learn english so that there would be no boundries. My family gave so much through sweat and blood and respect for the red, white and blue...because we are Americans in heart and soul. Our ideal are written in ink, our freedom in blood. God Bless America

  • @ninanwk69

  • For anyone who took Thompson Flights to the States in the 80's and 90's

  • Bravo!

  • God bless this country!!

  • My family came to American from Italia and they were so proud new Americans. They comntributed by building businesses and giving back to the community and country who had given them so much.....like no other country in the world. My grandfather died serving in the US Navy and although my family was sad of the loss, they were so proud because the American flag is worth dying for. I love yiou Papa

  • @GiovannaNYC Well said!

  • Wow! You have no idea how famous this song was back in exactly 1980. When I got out of airport, my father played this song in the car. I didn't understand a word of English, But I know this song is welcoming me. I was born in USA and raised in Taiwan until I was 9 BTW. Not some illegal Mexican.

  • great song

  • Ok To Sony Music and Neil Diamond

This video ,I think, is a wonderful tribute to a wonderful song that embodies a lot that is right with America. One could not ask for better PR. As to the point of making money. As with other songs I have found on Youtube (Glee) I have purchased the CD. So yes I recently purchased the Jazz Singer Soundtrack and this video reminded me how much I love the songs from this album. Sony should see this as FREE advertising not competition.

  • @griffob THANK YOU!!!!

  • @griffob Yes^ I agree. :]

  • @griffob I paid my money to see the movie at the theater.

  • @griffob

I love this argument about "free advertising" Sony holds the copyright, so they have the legal right to administer they're copyright as they see fit.

  • if i applied for us citizenship and went to the interview wat questions would they ask me all i know is the flag has 13 stripres for luck

the name george washington and they use dollars $

ooh and theres a bill of rights and that its an awesome country

  • GREAT JOB!

  • The name of the song is America, not they coming to America. It should be titled They come into America.

  • @hawk8414 yes I know that, but I leave it like I did before, it is one of the centence of the song. Thanks!

  • @hawk8414 You are correct cause I had the album, but does it matter what it's called? I was born in the USA ,my parents came from Puerto Rico and Cuba my grandmother was Italian. Nothing matters, cause we live in a great country. We stand together as a great nation and we are patriotic. Today we are made up of many countries and different people. That's what makes us who we are. No other country can live up to this, we accept everyone cause we as humans are all equal. God Bless Us All.

  • @hawk8414 ACTUALLY, the sentence is "THEY'RE coming TO America." Look it up.

  • I have loved this song and the Neil Diamond version of the movie "The Jazz Singer" since I was a child. Your interpretation is beautiful. Your artistic expression is sincere, creative, elegant, and obviously made with great respect and taste. Kudos and thanks for your work.

  • I have loved this song and the Neil Diamond version of the movie "The Jazz Singer" since I was a child. Your interpretation is beautiful. I'd love to keep your video in my playlist. Selfishly, I hope Sony doesn't go "all legal" on you! I don't understand copyright laws, but your artistic expression is sincere, creative, elegant, and obviously made with great respect and taste. Kudos and thanks for your work.

  • usa is awesome!

  • I was always in awe at the courage of my grandparents making a new life in the USA. God Bless America.

  • @jimb50 just like my German grandpa and Irish grandma

but on the only side of my family that came here in the 1700's

  • This is so awesome and so well done. It is also the most perfect song for this. Thank you for all the work you did on this video.

  • TODAY!

  • i would love to live in america but immigration laws and visa etc its too hard to get in and then i wait for ages in england (my country) to be recognised as an american citizen 8(

lucky americans being part of america i might do a niko bellic and sneak on a boat thats how much i want to be american i cant wait a few months and the immigration laws are too complicated for me im only 16 8(

  • LONG LIVE THE USA

  • This is a fantastic video! It brought a tear to my eye!

EXCELLENT! You need to go into filmmaking !

  • as I see now, as soon my video become popura on Youtube - Sony Music Entertainment starts complaning about content, the have copyright on Neil Diamond song. But how can I use other song if I want to make video illustration exactly for that famous song? How can I buy copyrhight or what ever? I did not get no one cnts for my video never. All my video just for my own fun.

Hey Sony Music Entertainment!! Please, do not mute or remove that video PLEASE! do not be soo particular, read comments!

  • @mermaid22ua no no all you have to do is in the description part where you have " this video is for illustration for" you HAVE to put in there "this song is copywrighted by sony music entertainment, i am using this song to represent the freedom of speech, as this song expresses my feelings toward the country and the people in it" and after you put that in on the description, legally, they cant do anything to you, and they cant remove it. thanks for putting this up, songs rad

  • We are 224 years old. And still the best nation in the world. We are not perfect but we are damn good!!!!

Our Group wants to just ACCEPT OTHERS as who they are!
