  • 1:57 - i dont think my brain level will go as far as finding the end of a pipe

  • i thoght this was wekkkend progect after a wile

  • Stop hating the kid, it looked great, was cheap and he was kind enough to share it. Congrats man.

  • and then the ice melts :(

  • oh dear.. get a life

  • Is a PVC cap really *that* expensive?

  • dry ice and hot watter

  • help me i cant find the end of the pipe

  • Kipkay did this with dry ice and hot water!

  • Interesting. About how long does that amount of ice last?

  • what if i replaced the ice with dry ice? would it be better?

  • @MoneyMakinMel100 if youre gonna use dry ice you might as well use dry ice and water

  • @damastan00b fog machine puts out more

  • @djmarco450 i know, but he siad he wanted to use dry ice in the chiller, i think however dry ice would put the fog back into a liquid state, so if your going to buy dry ice you can just use dry ice and warm water,

  • @damastan00b ok i see

  • This is not a good examination of how fog chillers are supposed to work.

The idea is to condense the fog, so that it is heavier than the surrounding air and thus hugs the ground. This can be achieved either by cooling the temperature of the fog, with ice for instance, or as in this video, by running it through a condensing chamber.

  • that was really bad I'm afraid. you need a longer tube for the fog to flow through. Take some air conditioning duct and wind it through a big garbage bin then fill the bin with Ice

  • Great work!

  • cool

  • How to make fog: Buy a fog machine!

This video sucks balls big time

  • @intestineswallower sad you dont understand ther simple concept of a fog chiller

  • Difficult to watch a 12 year old try and tell me how to "make films". I've never seen special effects guys with a dinky 400 watt fog machine, fluid from the spirit store, and a pvc pipe and a handful of ice, smoking up a set.

  • @andythehammer i agree. but thats because it looks pathetic using pvc a tape. thats why people spend there life savings on crap they dont need

  • Perhaps drill a few draining holes in the pipe for when the ice begins to melt, on the off chance it'll go back to the fog machine that ownt be pretty(?)

  • thought u said 30$ so far its over 40-50 dollars i got a cheaper way buckets water and dry ice doesnt take much and its cool to watch

  • wipe off your lens!!!!!!!!

  • nice, but i have another tip for you, buy the amarican dj mr kool low laying fogmachine!:D

  • after watching numerous fog chiller videos, yours does seem to do the trick, however in certain scenerios it will not do the trick, in a closed enviroment, hardwood floor, you need to take that ice into consideration, for possibly leaking and damaging the floor and any other products, also noting, if you added a grocery or garbage bag to the end of that PVC pipe, your fog, would come out only on the ground, thus creating a bigger fog effect low to the ground, dont get me wrong yours works!

  • Is that Mclovin?

  • wtf? is the fog juice 20 or 2? what a fucking douche

  • Why is this fag on indymogul?

  • Lip Sync Much?

  • You sir are a douche.... FAG

  • @JiveKernel At least he was nice enough to share his tutorials. Your freaking gay, being mean to him.

  • @SnowMishka33 Nice grammar.

  • @JiveKernel Why the hell would I care about my grammar? Nerd...

  • @SnowMishka33 Eloquent, no wonder the world IQ is gradually becoming... retarded.

  • If you cap the pipe completely and cut some holes (or slots) in the side of the pipe, it will give a very wide "floor" of fog.

It's even cooler if you use a square or rectangular pipe, which is easy to light or hide somewhere. Use a fan or compressor to add pressure to the pipe and make the fog move even faster across the floor!

  • fog juice:20 dollars for the hole bottle

    fog machine:20 dollars

    you said under 30 dollars

    20+20=40

  • @dimitrizeman100 if you actually listened to him, he said; " 2$ for the fog juice we actually used here" and in all honesty, he used less then a buck on that, if even 50Cents. He made a decent video, so stop being dicks and just move along if you dont like it. You obviously needed to come here to learn somethingin the forst place. Or are you just trolling. Eitherway, you probably should be studying for you addition and subtraction test tomorrow. Its right before recess,

  • @nokmuay1970 I felt that burn way over here.... :O

  • Comment removed

  • why dont you just get heavy duty fog

  • the hardest part was finding an edge

  • i bought fog machine for £5! thats like $8 woooot

  • @ned316 nice but i bought one for 2 pounds and i hacked it and it works so good my frieds thought it was real the fog #LOL Edinbrough

  • buy dry ice put it in cooler with a built in fan and you have a way better fog machine

  • lame r suppoed to show show to make fog making machine!!

or for $1 u can buy a pound of dry ice and put in hot water hot same effect!!!

  • wow that explains why my fog did that

  • Yes that smoke looks realy realy realystic!!! It looks like your big fat ass!!

  • Thanks for the tip. Will try it on halloween.

  • Decent fog machines already have a compartment to filter ice through.

  • how to make fog: buy a fog machine and fog machine juice.

    THANKS YOU FUCKIN IDIOT

  • @stoopidgirl789987

he said realistic fog. Guess your screen name is appropriate. :D

  • I'd Rather Waste my money on drugs.............

    fagget

  • TYVM.

  • Is that a young Eric Beck?

  • that was a really good tip

    thx man

  • just sayin dry ice is cheaper and less messy! use dry ice!

  • @lukethegreat29 If you can find it. There is literally NO places to get dry ice in my area. Plus you have to transport it, and you'd have to pretty much use it right away. And what happens when your takes don't turn out, and you have to re-shoot tomorrow? its BACK to the store, for more dry ice. Thus you've wasted even MORE money and more time. With this, you can reuse it over and over, till you run out of juice, which if you buy one of that size, its going to be a LONG time before you run out

  • Thanks a lot, great technique.

  • Or... Dry ice for about $1 a pound at most super walmarts... Just have to be over 18...

  • that is cool

  • use dry ice. works better.

  • I would of just add water to the mix.

  • thats a good idea, i might use this in my next film, keep up the good work, 5/5

  • Hmm...I can't help but wonder how much of a danger melting ice would be around the fog machine: something tells me there's an electrical hazard in this design.

  • @Toolsquatch I agree man! But the guys has a great video!

  • @Toolsquatch perhaps, I didn't think about that, BUT there are lots of other designs online for fog chillers, that keep the ice contained in a separate box, so if that's a concern, just go for one of those type!

  • I fucking hait chu.

  • wats with all the fricken toyota malibu ads?!??

  • that backround looks disgusting

  • @ChrisnCristal looks like your moms vagina

  • video is qualty is like crap

  • or you can put the fog jucie in the frige

  • the fog was flying away bc if you look at the box it says for indoor use. at least it says it on mine

  • Dry Ice Works Better I Think

  • Have you (the filmmaker) tried to change the ice inside the PVC-pipe to "dry ice"?

Well, I haven't but it could be possible, that there should come more frequent fog.

  • Fog Machine $20

    Fog Juice $20

    PCB Pipe $5

    Wood $.75

    Drill $20-50

    extension cord $4-10

  • using high qualty fog juice gives the same efect but a lot cheaper

  • I got a fog machine at target for 19.99

  • first of all about this vid, everything needs to be redone. the ice tube one needs a safe drain for the melted ice, so that way it dosent shorten out your fog machine for being so close and getting it wey, and 2, DO NOT put the hose over the nozzle, it needs to be about an inch away so the vapor can FULLY react with the oxygen and create fog. please redo this tutorial if you can keeping these in mind.

  • I got one today for 40$ and it cools it so that it dose not do that :)

  • so u gotta fill the thing up with ice every 25 mins ?

  • no every 2 mins

  • Thanks for putting this on.

  • :( fog machine are not 20 bcks there 50

  • depends where ya get them

  • where did u get urs do u have one?

  • yep ebay for £15

but thats slightly more in dollars

    probably about $20

  • A good 250-300Watt machine would cost about that much. Most others are more expensive. I have a 1000Watt machine, got it for $85

  • nice ediditng :)

  • when doing the slient hill movie i heard they used about 50 fog machines at once in some shots

  • also water your lawn before and it sticks longer too

  • we do this on halloween. it works really well

  • Your right it costs under 30 bucks, actually no it doesnt, because there is no way in hell you can buy that low amount of fog juice for just 10 seconds of fog, and you said earlier the container was 20, thats 43 bucks then

  • 3:05 thankx

  • 1:30 SNOZZLE!

  • haha

  • Fog machine's_nozzle

The previous word's s carrys over a little making it sound like snozzle.

    Just saying...

  • I'm pretty sure he says snozzle...

  • You could also take out the background noise of the fog machine with Audacity's "noise removal" effect. Instantly removes machinery, static, or other unwanted patterened noises. Just give it a selection of your noise, and Bam! Clean sound!

    Plus, it's FREE!

  • Definately agree, I use it so much, its an unbelievably useful tool.

  • I got a great shock off of a fog machine once working in a theatre. Its an electric object, so be very careful once your ice melts- perhaps raise your fog machine an incho or so so any melted ice runs away from the cables. :)

  • Awesome tip man!

  • Gotta say, I was kinda chuckling at the beginning when you said "how to make fog, step 1 get a fog machine," but I was impressed with your end result :) It really does look great! But isn't dry ice cheaper (and quieter?) about $2/pound...

  • Dry ice is better for some situations, a fogger is better for others. You can't store dry ice, so you run the risk of either running out, or overshooting and wasting it. It can be dangerous, but if you're reasonably intelligent and can follow simple instructions, it's not a problem. You also need to keep your water hot for maximum effect.

On the other hand, it's the gold standard if you don't have electricity on hand. it's simple, quiet, compact and cold. It's ninja fog.

  • Thanks for the tip ill probabably do that instead

  • Pal, you just saved my upcoming film xD

  • Thanks! At My best buy there fog machine costs $40 bucks and is a mini fog machine!

  • nice project

  • there are actually fog machines that have a built in compartment for ice these are called "Ground Foggers" mines cost 50 bucks and work great

  • i did the same thing except with dry ice it works great!

  • Since when is correct spelling for nerds ?

  • you look like a nerd too... and there are are such things as typos....

  • Yes i know but i like typing shit like you to piss people off.

  • your still just a dumbass nerd

  • Says the guy commenting for times on a video that he thinks is gay.

  • if he's a nerd then you take cocks in your ass. die in a fire sampfag

  • this doesnt concern you so shut the fuck up!

  • you shut up

  • Those are really good tips... nice demo

Well done. This information comes just in time for a project I'm currently working on.

Keep innovating, it saves time for the rest of us.

    FIVE STARS

  • to make it come out faster and thicker pull the tube about 1/4 of a foot away from the fog machine

  • Whats with your lips dude

  • dude u sound like a faggott and ur a fucking nerd...

  • 20 and 20 and more does not make 30 buks

  • ikr he is such a dumbass

  • thats really awsome did u try it with dry ice instead of real ice?

  • be careful with the water coming from the ice, it can short circuit your fog machine... use dry ice instead

  • were did you buy yours?

  • can u use something else than a pvc pipe?

  • 1:32

  • he looks like a foggot when he dropped the ice into the bowl. =]

  • And you look like an idiot when you can't spell correctly. :)

  • @iguanian amen to that in general...Tso...delicious.

  • Comment removed

  • nice

  • that is really good, the only thing is, is that the heat from the original fog would melt the ice faster than usual so you'd have to keep topping it up with ice. 5 stars tho, great vid.

  • Comment removed

  • it's not the fog machine that dictates the density it's the density of glycol in the fog juice

  • Wow, really smart. How did you ever think of that..?

  • SMART!!!!!!!!!!

    Totally using this!!

  • hey dude, it's a old trick. in stage shows we use this for a long time. We make floormist with CO2..called dryice. put a litle in a glass of water..see what happens..Be carefull for burns. it will burn youre skin. Great to see you how you fiks this wth just a pipe, ice and tape...smart dude :)

  • nice thanks man im so doing this haha

  • dump ass editing

  • Your problem with the thin fog is the fogger. Don't buy a cheap party store fogger, if you just get a professional Chauvet, American DJ, or Martin fogger your problem will be solved.

(not the problem with it rising.. the unrealistic think fog)

  • The whole idea is to get it cheap. No one wants to buy an expensive fog machine, when for a couple bucks, you can make your original one better.

  • Well you don't even have to get a professional one, walmart foggers are the best. They're $15 and create a whole lot denser fog than that one.

  • thats a good one...nice

  • i have that same one lol

  • home depot, lowes or any hardware store

  • or break a pipe in your home and use that!

  • lool the person that gave u one negative has no sense of humour

dnt worry i gave u a positive, ur back to ZERO! like any other loser ;)

  • dont do that i bought a cheaper beter machine with really thik fog that runs on just air fo 3 quid on a reptile website

  • Wow your a smart one

    dumb ass

  • cool

  • I prefer dry ice and water. a lot cheaper and much denser fog.

  • That is brilliant dude. We're definately using this next we make a movie. :D

  • you have to be carefull with how much ice, over do it and the fog wont get out of the machine properly, posibly and break it

  • This wouldn't be a problem. The PVC pipe doesn't make a tight seal. There is plenty of room for excess pressure to vent out the sides.

  • A honyecomb pattern on the end will make a steadier stream, it will iron out the turbulence cause by the smoke.

  • that tape won't hold for long when the water starts melting. try using better tape or maybe drill holes in the bottom of the pipe to allow the water to get out withour hitting the tape. but nice design

  • 1. thats a CHEAP fog machine its more "smokie"

I bought one for about lets say 70 bucks very low noise great fog and its small :)

  • The fog density has little to do with the machine it self, It has to do with the ratio of Glynal/water. Wile the heating element the hotter it gets handles the ratios diffrently ultimately the liquid effects the fog. As for the sound of the machine, that machine was fairly quite. the hissing sound is standard for all fog machines includeing 600 buck industrial machines, and fixed with a nossle silencer. However the noise complaints you hear about cheap machines is from the pump not the hissing.

  • omfg awsome!!!!!

  • interesting :D

  • i should do this for halloween

  • Great Tutorial!

  • if you want to direct your fog and have some freedome with this thing, just do exacley the same thing but instead of a log tube use a sewage hose from an rv store or any kind of bendable hose fore an easer shot.

  • Poke some holes in the tubing and completely clog the end of the tubing up ALL the way. fog should only leak slightly from the mouth, otherwise, all of the fog should ONLY come through the holes. It traps the fog, cools it, and makes it more dense. So it will stick to the ground, and skim under light wind.

  • oh and in the list of expenses you forgot to mention the pvc pipe jackass
