You should totally bitch to them again on Friday. It's actually really simple for the manager to go to their debit machine and cancel a transaction. They probably just needed the proof that they actually did charge you twice. However, the sales clerk that took your money was plenty enough proof to allow the manager to refund you, so i don't understand why they had to get you back there again with a statement.

@PrincessKahara i ended up just ditching the whole thing. A few times it was over a few dollars like in your case, so i was like screw this and went my way. But one time it was for like 15 bucks at some family restaurant. The lady was being a total bitch, i said i was never going to eat at their place again and was like, my friends won't either so suck it! (Minus the suck it part though). LOL
Forever 21 does that too they still owe me $40 they said they would mail it to me but.... :(
