  • Rebuild the Lieberal Party??? Good Luck LOL

  • This is what I call a leader. I'm fed up with crooked fatcats like Harper and his Reform Party cronies. It's a strength of Ignatieff's that he has spent so much time abroad - in other countries -- you know - learning? Writing books, becoming internationally respected as a thinker?

Harper by comparison is a Cabbage Patch doll.

  • When are you going to explain why I should support a guy who spent 30 years NOT trying to build a better Canada? Natty-F, you seem to love the US but do you think they'd ever support a leader that spent 30 years outside of it? No, they wouldn't - so why do you think Canadians should?

  • The McCain tactics "he's lived outside Canada" and "he's written weird books" pitch fork witch hunting tactics are NOT going to fly here!

You Cons should focus on substance - oops - none there - never has.

  • LOL. I'm definitely not a Tory - just someone that cares about his country and thinks its leader should show evidence of working to improve it (rather than staying out of it for 30 years). I prefer the Liberal party - or at least - I did. Harper's a douche-bag but at least he was ELECTED as leader of his own party. If you apply for a job and have shown 30 years of little or NO interest in the industry - you shouldn't get the job. Simple.

  • Michael went where his intellectual needs were met. In turn, he brings back a great deal of intellect, intelligence, depth, and knowledge.

We should be lucky to have him. He impresses a great deal of people.

The majority did not vote for Harper - and that was with Dion at the Liberal helm. Now with Ignatieff, there is a huge shift back to the Liberals.

Harper and his dirty conniving backstabbing dictatorial destructive ways must end. Canadians don't want him.

  • Are you more concerned with beating Harper or with democratic principles? I loathe Harper as I'm a firm believer in our Charter, but I'm also a firm believer in democracy and the ELECTION of party leaders.

Speaking of intellectual depth, you can dislike Harper and Ignatieff and not be NDP or Green. Shocking concept but likely one the Liberal party better get used to.

  • I can understand the point of having a problem with a leader that people didn't directly vote for. But at the same time, you're also voting for a party, not just a person, and the majority of people did not vote for the Conservative party.

A coalition means that the majority of people see their voices heard in a combination of parties. That combination then gets a head, a leader, that represents the majority of voters.

  • Michael has been involved in the Liberal Party for over forty years, starting out by knocking on doors for Lester B. Pearson in 1965 and serving as a delegate and National Youth Coordinator for Pierre Trudeau in 1968.

yeah your right union this guy dosent give a shit about canada

  • "National Youth Coordinator"? And Governor of Alaska!? lol. And "knocking on doors" is not, as you might think, the same as a "community organizer". The Libs never assumed Canadians were that stupid - why are you starting now?

He's intelligent and accomplished and would make an incredible Deputy PM but his support of the Bush doctrine and the 30 years he did not care about this country suggest that he really isn't the right guy for the job.

  • "yeah your right union this guy dosent give a shit about canada " Oh and nice try with that. Thankfully I wasn't asleep the day we covered 'Debating techniques' in nursery school. I'm sure he that NOW he 'gives a shit'.

  • Get rid of Dion lol that would be a start
