"These bloody things are everywhere, there in the left, in the larie in the bonwizard and all over the mulangaloolachuck" - lol what the hell are all those places?
the americans really do fail at putting on australian accents... it fascinates to me to see how hard it is for them to actually do it.. and for me (being an Australian) is just .. well normal..
@thesopranosrules you're a fucking moron and clearly you do NOT love the simpsons and you are too mentally unfit enough to pick up that the accent/flags are clearly JOKES.
What the hell is that flag supposed to be? I love how the Americans don't even know those things in Queensland are not frogs! Best bit- I'm from Oz and I couldn't hardly understand that accent attempt, they must do the worst ones but hey we all love the Simpsons. It's the viewers that are so stupid.
@llddau you're a fucking moron and clearly you do NOT love the simpsons and you are too mentally unfit enough to pick up that the accent/flags are clearly JOKES.
literally all of this is true ive been to australia many times they definetly say dollary doo and foster is most certainly australian for beer ( hahahahahaha)
My voice, along with the voices of a number of Australians have been sampled and reviewed by people from England, Sweden, and the United States. My voice in particular was mentioned to be "sexy" and smooth sounding. The Americans didn't know what region my accent was, but they did like it. It's just insulting that Americans would just base Australian accents on English speaking people from the Northern Hemisphere.
@migbee Sorry, I couldn't make out what you were saying through your drawling hillbilly accent and the sound of your sister who you married yelling "y'all" in the background. Do you want to get back to fucking your goat?
@migbee "Dude", I've been harassed over the internet, had my computer hacked in to by a bunch of wackos, and people have tried to commit fraud against me. Why wouldn't I take the internet seriously these days. As for you, I made a valid comment about a 30 second video clip, and you come along and say that I'm crying about it. Then you go on about your comments being funny? You're as funny as Adam Sandler. You probably think that's a compliment.
@migbee "Couldn't someone find anyone with remotely an Australian accent to do the voices? Sounds like they are stuck in England." Yeah, real 'tight-ass, lost cause' postings.... Can I give you some advice? When you have lost your argument, it's best that you shut up.
@WorldSacred Mate, it's a joke. I'm a proud Melbournian and this has to be one of the funniest Simpsons episodes. You should see the episode where they go to Africa, the entire time they are making fun of the fact that they get everything wrong.
@HFRAJK How on earth can you say that when they have blatant English accents? I had to re-watch the video again to review. The first guy to talk especially sounded English.
@WorldSacred He sounded the most Australian of the lot of them.
And the way these Australians speak, the writers have made them sound particularly outbackish, especially with the over the top slang.
The English people you've met must sounds completely retarded or something.
How about you go watch a TomSka or Eddsworld Cartoon, those animators are from England and have real English accents, and you can blatantly tell the difference between the English and the Aussie.
@HFRAJK Whilst you were responding, I was watching a snippet of the Australian show "The Chaser's War on Everything": /watch?v=GbFyErDExR8&feature=feedrec_grec_index_more
Compare these guy's accents with this Simpsons clip, and you'll see that you are wrong.
The Simpsons attempts at Australian accents were so English sounding, I thought those two were ready to order light beers.
@WorldSacred Your idea of what an English person sounds like must come from watching Sweeney Todd a few too many times. I could only compare the voice of a west end musical londoner to the australians in this video.
Plus that link you sent me? That was a subtle australian accent, as I was saying, the ones here are obviously stereotyped people from the outback or something.
They don't sound a bit English at all... in fact, you could even use my own youtube videos with my voice in as an example.
@HFRAJK Oh believe me, telling me that I have seen Sweeny Todd more than once is an insult. I don't recall getting through half the dvd before I gave up and returned it.
Does the musical "Oliver Twist" with Jack Wild's accent more closely resemble the voices in the Simpsons clip? There is no way that their accents are "outbackish". I live in a town of 80,000 people, so I live close enough to hear the occasion outback accent and the city accent.
@WorldSacred I would have to say that Oliver Twist is another good comparison.
But yes, I've heard australian people who do have accents like this, and I guess I'd just have to say we've both had different experiences of eachother's cultures and accents.
@HFRAJK Didn't see this until recently. Now I know that you are only kidding around. That was a blatant English accent. I checked out a link for it, and I thought it was very English. By the way, what's so subtle about the Australian accent in "The Chaser"? Sounds typical urban Australian to me.
@WorldSacred wait, what are you saying sounds really English there? My video?
oh and I thought those accents were subtle because they were easy to understand, usually when I hear a strong Australian accent, I usually have to ask for the person to repeat themselves a few times so I could understand what they were saying.
And I am not Scottish, I am English, I just live in Scotland.
@HFRAJK I've never had trouble understanding my countrymen unless they were really drunk or lousy speakers. My ex-gf's parents had strong northern English accents, and I couldn't understand much of what they said. If that's you in your videos, I can understand you fine. Unless I have the wrong video of Meet the Sniper (is that part of "Team Fortress" video game?), then I have to say that it is English.
Kind of like how the americans in their TV Shows all depict anyone from Britain with a really terrible cockney accent, and everyone has bad teeth.
Yet they never seem to mention that Scotland, Northern Ireland and Wales are also part of Britain, they just seem to think England and Britain are one and the same thing,
Yeah, that is team fortress.
and I am the long/dark haired tanned-ish english guy in the vid
