  • i love this song,i always come back to this video,it still reminds me of georgory hines, tap dancing in his movies, also when i was doing my internship at the hospital, this use to play, plus visiting my moms job in nyc,and looking down at the city from her window on the 30th floor, while listening to this song, and the drive to north carolina, route 95 great memories.

  • Womanfriendly is gay...

  • Very nice song very inspirational 80's at its best very positive and can be a big light in someone's day and life lol love you MM and JI

  • yea baby! a classic, Michael mcdonald is wats up!!

  • If I have to hear "Yah Mo B There" one more time, I'm gonna "Yah Mo" burn this place to the ground.

  • The concept for this video has feature film written all over it. Paging Mr. Spielbergo

  • Here Here, It would be labeled to soft by today's standards although if economic deline continues on the path it's going and folks keep taking their own lives then I expect this video would serve a golden role as a lifesaver. Yah Mo B There, it's what we should all tell those close to us and at least one deserving stranger. Times are getting tight.

  • what the heck is wrong with Chan628637 put a sock in it dude

  • I think this and "Sweet Freedom" are two of the little lost gems of 80s music. There's something about Michael McDonald's voice that is so soulful and soothing, it just makes you feel good.

  • Holy shit! That was funny as hell. The concept for the video is totally crazy! Awesome!

  • Thanks to "The 40-year old virgin", i was able to remember this music.

  • Sooo great!

  • unfortunately today all you need is a mouth synthesiser, and you can count that off as a good voice. Most of todays artist's are studio created, they dare not sing as their records rarely match up to the live act.

Back in the day you had to earn the right to be called a singer.fantastic soulful vocals.

  • lmaoo im high as shit and typed this song in loool

  • great song from a time when music was actually worth a shit, now look at the "music" that is out today, what the hell happened

  • Absolutely. We are now living in a time where the standards of being a musician are much lower. Great songs like this one - you don't hear them these days

  • 2:42 Bill Clinton when anunced on TV news Obama is the next president...pathetic.

  • I wanna open an 80's mega center that has a movie theater that only plays 80's movies, a music store that only sells 80's music, an 80's arcade, and a restaurant that only serves canned food from the 80s. Maybe I should forget about the restaurant though...

  • hi monxcrib

  • Funny enough, this was a lesbian bar dance song in the early 80's.

  • dude from 40 Year Old Virgin gave this song a bad rap!

"Yah Mo burn this store down"

    LOL!!!!

  • aliccolo was just saying a part off a movie why yall got so offended

  • I would rather listen to Fran Drescher for eight hours than have to listen to Michael McDonald. Nothing against him, but if I hear "Yah Mo B There" one more time, I'll "yah mo" burn this place down.

  • that was funny in the 40 year old virgin LOL. Love Michael McDonald anyway.

  • Classic...♫

    *****‼

  • This is a great song from James Ingram and Michael McDonald. I don't care for the 'train track' effect in the song either.

  • Think about jamaican religeon

    jah will be there

  • it means god will be there

  • Listen to the chorus...Are they singing "AM A WEE MAN"?

  • They're saying "Ya 'Mo". It's slang for "Yeah, I'm gonna be there..."

    Ya, mo' b there...

(Yeah, I'm going to be there...)

This is a song with religious undercurrents.

  • LMAO 'ahm a wee man'

  • LOL!

  • Yah is the creator of you and the whole universe! +

  • Love the song. Hate the 'train track' effect. Whose bright idea was that??

  • It was nice that 20 years (1984 0r 85) after it's oringal release that in the smash hit movie '40 year old virgin' this great song by Ingram and McDonald was exposed to a new younger audience.

  • Great collabration between McDonald, Ingrim and the production of Quincy Jones!

  • Ooooh, I haven't heard this funky mix before. Lovin' it and I will always love you Mikey D! I hope he is still touring. Keep that classic music coming! and Thank you for the music! xxxxxxxx

  • yah mon B there. lol.

  • GEANT!! 2 voix magnifiques, merci...

  • I lov this song it reminds me of Manhattan and going to my mothers job,and lookin at the view of New York City from the office window, and Travling in the car going to North Corolina,And Greogry Hines who i was in a movie with,Ms.106&Park!

  • I swear if I hear Yah Mo B There on more time I will blow this place up! - 40 year-old virgin.

This song is simply the best!

  • It was a nice surprise to hear this song mentioned in the 40 Year Old Virgin. "If I hear Ya Mo Be There one more time, I'm gonna Ya Mo burn this place down...", lol.

  • I'm so glad I found this vid. I love it so much. Thanks for sharing!

  • "Yah Mo B There"

    fantastic!

    ああ・・日本人だす

  • rge, I think your little signature thing is messed up. It says "Aa...Nihonjin dasu," and I'm pretty sure you mean it to say "Aa...Nihonjin _desu_."

  • A classic!

    never will be forgotten.

  • This is for my friend reaggaedawn X

  • Thank you my very good friend Freshinit xxx

  • From the master producer quincy jones !! wicked song , and loving vocals by james and michael!! talent

  • Great song and singers (two amazing voices), it sounds like MMcDonald is black. I love his beard, wanna nuzzle my face on it !

  • Check out the Songfacts to see the religious meaning.

  • right... the original words were "Yahweh be there" but in lieu of offending anyone it changed to Yah mo...

  • too bad.............that is where we are headed...........oh, be careful, don't offend anyone. I always found this way of thinking to be ridiculous. One God made us all. If by chance we say it incorrectly, oops, Now I'm upset at you?

Love this song. I just don't care for all the hypersensitivity.

    Political correctness ruins everything.

  • 1983 album "It's Your Night"

Track 2: "Yah Mo B There"

    Look it up.

  • Good song.

  • Great song, but the video makes no sense

  • What kinda version of the song is this? This aint Yah Mo B There man?

  • What kind of version is this, you ask? The ORIGINAL version!

  • Theres been some phoney ass beat added to the original.

  • Can anyone please tell me why is it that nobody has brought back this music?

  • killer track!

  • looks like James Ingram has a J behind his ear at the beginning

  • Some call him Muhammad. Others call him Jehovah. A few call him Yah. The bottom line is God is Real.

  • The bottom line is this is already known.

  • But so many don't believe in the bottom line and that saddens me.

  • Word. Many choose to refer to him/her by whatever name is more convenient to their own beliefs and refuse to acknowledge that God/Allah/Etc didn't create this planet for only half the Earth.

  • nobody calls him muhmmad

  • beautiful song brought some nice memories back.

  • This is a great gospel song too!

  • Man, this one is timeless.

  • Okay at 0:51 that looks like Susan Sarandon LOL Well, I would have loved to have been in this vid. Love the song!

  • never get fed up of listening to this, just love it.

  • GREEEEEEEEAAAAAAATTTTTTTTT!!!!!!!!.GODDAM 80s........

  • trop bon

  • CLASSIC RECORD!!!! 85'

  • haha, it sounds like "Yeah I'ma Be There"

    Good stuff!

  • YAH will always be there!!! Keep on keepin' on people!

  • whats does yah mo b there mean?

  • According to Michael McDonald's greatest hits, the original title and chorus was "Yahweh be there," but they felt that the explicitly religious theme would affect its hit potential so they changed it to "Yah Mo" and let the listeners interpret the meaning for themselves.

  • it simply means 'Yah' (GOD) will be there!!!!!!!

  • Thanks mike,no wonder I love this song.

  • This song came on the Radio, I was scribbling for a pen to write it down and put it on my page. Love it..............today still has the sound

  • I heard this song in a store today and I remember I liked it alot a long time ago, glad I was able to find it.

  • super musique des années 80..Ils sont à la retraite?

  • I love the line "people gotta keep pushing on - no matter how many dreams slip away".

Kick ass song/video and thanks for sharing.

  • I never realized that was one of the lines, but you're right, powerful words! -Love this song!!

  • for some reason people cannot appreciate good music these days, if its not alot of swearing and cussing then its not music that's rerally sick. I think juames Ingram and Michael Mcdonald did a great job on this song

  • i was in love with song back then and still love it today

  • Smooth goddamn song. Ya mo watch some other yacht rock now.

  • One of my favorites
