I used to always be astounded by how much power Wakka had in his arm. For example wen u were on the airship fighting that flying fiend and Wakka somehow managed to throw that WHOLE BALL and landed a direct hit PLUS damage AND STILL get the ball back. @BoobooCpopwocker his attack is about 8 times stronger than omni slash, and about 4 times stronger than lionheart, if all have optimum condition. it is also about 2 times stronger than a boosted zell dincht duel limit break when he is optimized luck strenght maxed and a 12 sec time for using his two quick commands.

The arena custom made enemies were ridiculously powerful, this one is probably immune to magic meaning you have to go through it's immensely tough physical armour.

Note it's also got an MP destroying attack.

Gods below, to be honest, the only thing in this game that's duller than farming the monsters needed to unlock Nemesis, have to be the incredible amount of blitzball games needed to get the Jupiter Sigil.

I mean, I liked Blitzball at the start, but after the first 25 games or so I kinda lost interest, and started just doing one goal and then putting on character with the ball in my own goal area, so the time would just run out.

Tip: Don´t use tidus in Blitzball. he is overpowered indeed xD I keep blitzball interesting with playing 2 seasons with one team (withou tidus) and then release them all to get a new one. Becomes very hat after a few seasons cause the other teams buy your high-level players ^^

actually tidus is an above average player but not great, he ends up with a mere 78 shot, wakka ends up having a better shot with 80 and larbeight beasts him with a shot of 96, i reccomend keeping tidus (as he's free) until you get to sin as by then you should have enough money to keep players for a long time. just a tip for anyone who wants a good blitzball team stay away from luca goers players as they end up with the worst stats in the game.

@hardware440 by pure statistics, you are right that larbeight is better. Tidus's ability to do jecht shots are what makes him keep the edge, even as other players get better shots than him- taking two defenders off for nothing is a real boon, making him arguably the best player. If we are looking purely at shooting, the Keepa is best with 99 shot, but obviously that statement is kinda absurd :)

@ehud12sc I'd agree, getting players out the way without having to take a tackle is great thing to have. That being said blitzball is an easy game and you should have players who can take those hits or at least dodge them with tackle slip. In the end it all comes down to preference, Tidus' techs keep him up with the elite and make him the best player to start with providing you get the Jecht shot, but there are far more interesting players to use and train for example I like Argai Ronso :)

Nice job!!! I play blitzball a lot but the prizes aren't the overdrives nor the jupiter sigil. How can you switch the prizes in the matches and get the overdrives?

to start with you can ONLY get the sigil after getting the random reels

to  actually GET the reels you need to have the following amount of fight (against monsters NOT blitzball)

attack reels =150 fights

stasus = 300 fights

random = 450 fight

after 150 fights the attack reels will turn up as a prize wiin that that have another 300 fights for status win that have another 450 fights for random

now for the sigil if it is not a prize soft reset and reload until it pops up

Well, "best" depends on which enemy you're fighting and how leveled up you are. But by the time you can hit for 99,999 HP, Attack Reels is not only Wakka's most powerful attack, it's the most powerful attack your entire party has (at least in the North American version - in the PAL/Int. version there are a few aeons that have attacks more powerful than that.)

I'd really like to know, how you can know how many battles Wakka has battled. Status Reels needs 250 battles and Aurochs Reels 450 battles. Also I want to obtain Jupiter Sigil. I haven't trained Wakka as much as Yuna, Tidus or Auron, but I'd like to obtain his ultimate weapon.

Unfortunately you can't know how much battles the characters have been in. You can try a rough estimate by seeing how much damage Tonberry's attack does, it's the number of enemies that charactr has killed times 10, 100 or 1000, depending on which Tonberry you're fighting).

It's because Wakka is using the "Solo" (or "Loner", I'm not sure) Overdrive Mode. It boosts when your character is playing alone. Also, he's using his ultimate weapon, World Champion, which triples overdrive boost.

You can get the different overdrives by playing Blitzball. They are tournament/league prizes.

You can get loner mode by playing alone in battle (make the other two characters escape or KO them). Wakka will get loner mode after playing 110 turns by himself, but the number of turns varies from character to character.

Wakka's overdrives are available as Blitzball prizes. Attack and Auroch Reels are tournament prize and Status is a League prize.

To get World Champion: you must have access to the airship, have played at least 5 blitzball matches and have the celestial mirror in your inventory. To boost it, you can find the Jupiter Crest in a locker in the Auroch's locker room in Luca and you can find the Jupiter Sigil as a blitzball league prize after you've won all four of Wakka's overdrives.

First, make sure Wakka has fought at least 450 battles. Then, you must get all of Wakka's overdrives, which are Attack Reels (Blitzball tournament prize), Status Reels (league prize) and Aurochs Reels (tournament prize). After those prerequisites are completed, the Jupiter sigil will start showing up as a random league prize.

The fastest you can do this is 24-26 games (depending on whether or not your team is seeded during tournament).

Yes, you can skip a turn and get an overdrive boost. There are several OD modes that allow it. In the clip above, I use "solo". It means the overdrive increases when Wakka has a turn and is alone on the field (I also have a Triple Overdrive weapon equipped). The modes Ally, Daredevil and Victim also allow it, with the proper conditions met.

Wakka's Attack reels + high defense is the way to go. Yeah, the stone punch is annoying. If it helps any, he won't do it if you only have one player alive.

But Shinryu's pretty though. If you're at low levels, I recommend bribing Malboros or getting getting your Wings to Discovery at the Remiem temple. During the chocobo race, if you open 3 chests and don't touch any poles, you'll get 30 Wings to Discovery.

To unlock Shinryu, you must capture 2 Splashers, 2 Achelous, and 2 Maelspikes from Gagazet (specifically, in the waterway in the cavern).
