to have a whole platform that moves would be to hard and exspencive to make for a home system. At first I thought its gay because sure in a real car the seat doesnt move, but when your drifting in a corner full speed does your body move? Yes it does, and thats exacly what this simulates, it may not be exact G force, but its pretty damn close..I think if the seat moves to far then yeah it would be gay, but if it moves really fast and not so far just so simulate the g force, then i think its cool.

Actually, you are the retard ;). The simconmotion simulates Gforces on the DRIVER, which are partly relative to the car. When you accelerate in a real car for example, you are pulled back into the seat away from the steering wheel, same when you turn. This motion is much more realistic than moving the whole platform - I guarantee if you tried both you would prefer it this way.

They THROW you into the corners, not just 'push you slightly into the side'. I've been on countless motion platforms and also built my own, I am highly experienced in this field,SCN5 actuators ...

Absolutely incorrect.. This is much more effective than an FD 301 or 401 rig when correctly configured. I have used both. The FD systems are crowd drawers, this is a more serious simulator. Tell you what, go and spend $40k on an FD-301, play it for a while then try out one of these for 1/15th of the cost... and cry ;). FD's only offer heave in addition to this, and their actuators are only capable of 20hz due to the extreme scale of the platform they are moving. FD systems are 'toys' for arcade fun.. these SCN5 based rigs are serious racing training tools.

Oh, and I think that the mere fact many professional racing drivers actually train in these tri-axis rigs should put paid to your argument... If you want to simulate actual G force you need surge, sway and yaw. Cost of a system with those abilities? Around $150,000. Cost of this one? closer to £2500.

No, i havnt, but i can imagine that when you sit tight in a racingseat you dont get slightly pulled to the side like in this "sim". The steering wheel is static but the seat moves and that just a wrong simulation IMO.

the helmet enhances the effect (Gforce pull in turns). Your head will try to stay "upright" so the simulated pull from the seat´s motion will be more "heavy" and intense with the added weight of the helmet...

and the system cost less than a kick ass pc that most gamers have...the motion that is.
