  • Love and holiness truth are virtues you are confusinf attributes with virtues.Knowledge, power are attributes.Nevertheless it was excellent representation of God and needed for God's people to be reminded of.

  • I would add wrathfulness.....

  • It makes Him absolutely free to do what He knows to be best. God is in control of everything that happens.

  • The husband is the symbol of Christ and the wife is the symbol of the church. As man and woman are married physically, so Christ is married to the church spiritually. God put the man in a position of authority over the female, because it is a symbol of Christ being in authority over us. Spiritually, Christ speaks and we are silent and listen. God (through Paul) also said husbands are to love their wives just like Christ loved the Church and gave Himself for it (died on the cross).

  • Next time, separate the "Natural" Attributes (who He is) from the "Moral" Attributes (what He does). The understanding of this will revolutionize your audience and change their lives and the world. Check your spelling on "omniscient" also. When you talk about "Unity" of God, this is where you can discuss the "Trinity." Try finding Gordon Olson's material for deeper revelation of Nature and Character of God stuff.

  • The Attributes Of God (who He is) ARE what govern His actions (what He does). God IS all of these twelve attributes eternally whether He ever 'Does' anything or not. However, what He does reveals this Eternal Character to us. God IS LOVE, and He was Love before He ever created anything. But this love was not expressed (what He does) until He created. His Nature is not dependent on His actions, but rather His actions reveal His Eternal Nature. When Moses asked Who are you, God said "I AM."

  • Can I get the scriptures on these attributes of God

  • @bmthurman Good for you. No one should just take the word of a man, but should search the scriptures themselves to make sure of what God says about it. I don't have these scriptures readily available, but I can get them for you if you are still interested. Let me know.

  • What happened to 'mercy'? In His own words, this is one, when He speaks to Moses in Exodus 34.

And 'longsuffering'-is this an attribute? He mentions it an awful lot about himself.

Just a thought-working on a lesson series on the attributes of God.

  • @ukulelemike Mercy is what He accomplished in His LOVE. Love is what moved God to have compassion on fallen man and become the sacrifice for our sins. This act of Love allowed Him to satisfy His justice and have mercy on us.

  • Isn't "triune" an attribute?

  • :o you're also doing Theology?
