  • Thank you so much!!!! :) I thought it would take me weeks to learn how to blow the SHOFAR! Thanks to this video!!!! it took me less than a day :)))

  • Does the size of the circumference of the mouthpiece matter? I think the size on my shofar is too small.

  • @LouieG7777 Yes, it can matter. Some are too small and too sharp

  • THank brother.. I love your spirit as well. God Bless you.

  • Hi karel,

Thanks so much ,i learned to blow the shofar from the side of my mouth .isn't the shofar supposed to be blown at the direction of the Lord(Adonai) or is it also just a musical instrument? i have both the rams horn and the yemenite one is to call an assembly one a call to repentance am i mistaken or taught wrong?

    Thanks in advance

    WDM

  • people love to make special laws but to be honest...these are laws made by man not by God. Ask Him how to blow. A shofar isn't a magic stick. It is not a Harry Potter tool. It isn't because you follow some man-made rules that it will be powerfull. A shofar can be made from various horns such as a horn from a ram or an antelope. There is no difference in function.

  • Hi,

The Shofar is an instrument composed of flesh, blood and bone just as we are As a weapon of warfare, the Shofar was used to bring down the walls of Jericho (Joshua 6)

The Shofar was also used to confuse and defeat the Midianites.

They referred to their Shofars as a sword for the Lord(Judges 7:19-22) Rev 4:1 and Rev 1:10 likens God's voice to the sound of the Shofar.for worship (Psalms 98:6 Psalm 150:3 ) an assembly joel 2;17

Must be more to it Karel then just blow don't you think?

  • It is made out of keratin (same as hair and nails)not of flesh, bones and blood. The blowing made Jericho fall and win the battle with Midian but not because someone just decided to blow on a shofar.God gave instruction, power and authority to the blowing-if not the shofar itself is just a horn that makes a cool and powerful sound. That is why I say it isn't a HP tool.Don't just eat the words of religious people and shofarsellers that love your money.

Ask Him when and how to blow.

  • Excellent point. God's Spirit will direct the who's, when's, where's, why's, and how's regarding blowing the shofar. Blessings.

  • I love the really small Shofarot. I dont know why I just love the sound

  • a shofar doesn't smell as good as it sounds

  • Mine do actually :-)

  • LOL!

  • I have a number of shfars, you can also play them from the side of your mouth.

This was the original way to play.

Its another idea and is easier.

It worked very well for me!

  • I could be the original way, but not exactly the best or easiest way (for most people).

I have more control if I blow in the middle.

And hey :-) I am a saxplayer as well!

  • I was wondering, Which is more appropriate, the Rams horn, or the yemenite horn?

    Does it even matter?

  • Blow the horn that suits you best - that's the most appropriate :-)

I prefer yemenite. A good yemenite sounds way better that a ramshorn

  • now I have received my shofar and with your teach It's ok I DO IT hèhè i love it (my family not as me :-) I m in belgium too, could you tell me how to remove the odor (for the moment i put fresh romarin inside and it works but i am waiting your expertise

    bless you

  • "Tooooot!" or "Phhhbbbt!" Many thanks to you, I no longer sound like a wounded moose!

My shofar looks similar to yours, and has a deep tone. I also want to bring the tone/pitch higher and will look out for your expert advice.

    Blessings :)

  • I have a question. I heard that in the ancient days that rabbis would blow these at horns, varying in notes. I heard they would play each one to spell out a sound, and they make "AAAAAAA" "ooooooo" "IIIII." Sounding out Adonai. Is this true, have you heard anyting about this? Thanks.

  • Most people blow the tekiah, teruah,etc...

Personally, with all respect, I don't care that much what rabbis did, because a lot of them were excellent inventors of new rules, only to serve themselves, not Adonai...

  • Yea...lol...that's the same thing people do when they put their lips on their babies tummy to make them laugh - haha. Now how do you get different tones with the shofar?

  • Those different tones are a bit more difficult to explain. I am still thinking how I can make it easy to understand

  • You are welcome :-)

  • Wow excellent tips! thanks for these videos! :-)
