  • LR rocks!!!

  • Thanks.

  • Keith Hampshire from Toronto did a great run on this song. I think the ladies all of them, sing it best.

  • I like Rod Stewarts version the best!!!chacka69 Bless all 4 2012!!

  • so much better than over versions!!

  • Linda has covered scores of songs by the greats and owned almost all of them, but Cat Stevens still owns this one.

  • what a set of pipes

  • Has this ever been released on a cd or on vinyl even ???

  • Linda for the Hall !!! No doubt!

  • I like this version better.............isnt dat weird?

  • mwrobb, couldn't agree with you more. The untouchables of the HOF voting will bethe halls demise. Missing too many favorites because of thier arrogance for thier personal taste and what the HOF clowns think is quality. I will NEVER visit the joke again.

  • Linda Ronstadt, one of the finest white Country singers ever.

  • 2.24...WTF...profiles everywhere

  • wut a voice...waaaaaw :O

  • @mwrobb the R & R hall of fame is not exactly known for honoring worthy artists...no linda on this years nomination list but rap act eric b and rakim and the beastie boys are. go figure.

  • @purewaves1 Linda Ronstadt not being in the Hall of Fame is a joke.I guess it's implicit bigotry against half- Mexican artists who are super-talented and sold 75 million records. It's the same reason Jim Plunkett isn't in the Football Hall of Fame, and I'm a white old guy. You have to be cool in the eyes of the the Crosby, stills and Nash burned- out ,ponytailed music industry

    freaks

  • @mwrobb TOTALLY!

  • I agree about the RNRoll HOFame sentiments.. I saw her in '78 in Dallas. Had pretty good seats, about 30 feet away. Talk about subtley seductive. Her dress strap broke. She kept performing, and fiddling with the strap.. I was 16 years old and on a date with my high school sweetheart .. it was almost too much.. :)

  • Very few singers sound even better live. You heard it here folks. Amazing!

  • I love her amazing voice!

  • Canada has Linda we have Kylie. We also have AC/DC and CHISEL. Still... Aussie Linda would be good, we would even make her an honorary K1W1.

  • @357HFC Is Linda Canadian? I'm not sure about that, as far as I know she's American/half-Mexican and we're so proud of her. We can tell when someone is an extraordinary singer when they can sing Mariachi songs (kind of our folk music), and Linda does that effortless and wonderfully.

  • Linda has a Voice. Powerful, subtle, distinctive. And she's cute as a major button. Linda, my crush still burns.

  • Two words why Linda is not in the HoF: Jann Werner.

  • Her earily stuff is great & the stuff w/ the stone poneys Yes I agree she should be in the R&R Hall of Fame?

  • Better than today's artist

  • @mwrobb I just sent them an email telling them i wouldn't visit their museum or give them my money. How can a "museum" be taken seriously if their owner tries to RE-WRITE history b/c he had a feud with a particular artist? Let them know what you think... here's the link ---- staff@rockhall.org

  • how can this woman not be in the rock n roll hall of fame? I just sent them an email telling them i wouldn't visit their museum or give them my money. How can a "museum" be taken seriously if their owner tries to RE-WRITE history b/c he had a feud with a particular artist? Let them know what you think... here's the link ---- staff@rockhall.org

  • Linda, if you see this...Please go into the studio and record this song. We have been waiting for it!!! Thanks

  • Wow,what a voice.Wish she'd done a duet with Elvis in the 70s.

  • thankyou for posting.. Xxxx

  • she is amazing. how she has been overlooked into the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame is beyond me!

  • @kindanice101 you are exactly right, she is another wonderful influence for all women, world over, nevermind hall of fame? Sadly' Nowadays would prob promote the bubble gum lollipop crap thats mainstream these days, my grandfather loved Ronstadt n before he passed in 1996, he still listened to her a lot, loving her voice n as he said: "spunk: n Grace. but her voice' blue bayou' her version best, played it at his funeral n he was born 1923 loved johnson, holiday, joplin etc. he knew good music.

  • @kindanice101 he also played guitar n harmonica n was well respected, it is a shame that this hall of fame thing overlooks some of our most difinitive artists, they make a difference n we gew up with great music, n real rnb, may I remind rnb, is rhythm n blues, no rhythm or blues in in most so called music these days, no appreciation for real art n the artists, no matter what genres defined so much we still remember so well from growing up. I'd play Ronstadt, joplin, johnson, berry etc anyday b4

  • @kindanice101 Uhmmmmm, Maybe it's because she's a Country Artist.

  • @tonyrio ...no way! She has hit every genre of music...rock, country, jazz, big band, broadway, latin, adult contemporary...you name it. There is no question of her vocal beauty...its just a travesty that they have ignored this woman!

  • @kindanice101 O.K, so she's a Variety Artist, maybe that explains why she's not in the R&R HOF. Some of her music I love & some of it I don't, this is what happens when you try to be all things to all people. Some people see it as being super-talented and others may see it as a way for a music label to cash in on different genres of music. There needs to be a HOF for Variety Music (kidding). To me she was a cute Country singer that liked playing the field & I paid to see her twice in the 70's.

  • @tonyrio ...I just cant pinpoint why she hasn't. Its not ROCK music per se...I mean Is Brenda Lee considered rock, or Billie Holiday? For that matter, is Paul Simon or Michael Jackson? No...and the latter two have been inducted TWICE. Rock emcompasses all. I am certainly not taking anything away from any other inductee, but you can take a look for yourself and can ask..."THEY are inducted and Linda is NOT?!" She has 10 Grammys, 2 Country Music Awards, and an Emmy for heavens sake.

  • @kindanice101 I figured out why she's not in the R&RHOF! It's because she was screwing Governor Brown! I kid but it's just proves how hard it is to be in the Club. I'm half-way serious when I say it but she 'll probably die and then get in. Anyway, at the end of the day who really gives a care, if you love her and her music that's all that really matters to you and Linda. So get out your old LP's, dust them off and have a nice day, I really mean that. :)

  • @tonyrio. Thanks! ;) By the way, I saw her when she toured with "Canciones de me Padre." It was amazing.

  • @tonyrio Having read the requirements for induction to the R&R hall of fame i found there are different categories with different requirements , Linda meets or exceeds all requirements in EVERY category.

  • Queda algo x añadir?

  • After I heard Linda Ronstadt sing this, I kept thinking to myself, "Cheryl who?"

  • I love her. She did make a mistake on the lyrics, first verse, but that happens sometimes-I'm a musician/singer myself, and sometimes you just space. OR, maybe she just changed them because she was a woman singing a man's song. Either way, I thought the word change was awkward-but I LOVE her and her singing, and there are so many great older clips of her from the 70s!! Awesome stuff. Anyone who hasn't seen her 1973 ABC version of Love Has No Pride should be sure to check it out!!

  • happy Birthday Linda.. thank you for getting me through the seventies!!!!you share a birthday with my sister !!.. awesome!

  • happy birthday, linda! 65 years young! 7-15-11

  • Nice performance! The most amazing thing with Linda is that her voice has not changed through years...

    FIRST LADY OF ROCK!

  • her and that raspy voiced faggot rod stewart butchered this song. sheryl crow and cat stevens (yusuf islam) were way better.

  • Who the hell is Duffy???!!!!

  • HOW INSUTING TRYING COMPARE VOICES, SORRY BUT PUT A PISTOL IN YOU RIGHT EAR AND PULL IT, MAYBE WITH THIS WILL CLEAN IT , I THINK DUFFY HAVE A GREAT STYLE FOR SING BUT HIS VOICE ITS LIKE HEAR TO SPEAK THE 3 PLAYBOY MANSION GIRLS AT THE SAME TIME, LOOKS GREAT BUT IT DESTROY THE BRAIN, AND COME ON!!!! LINDA IS ONE OF THE GREATEST FEMALES VOICES OF ALL TIME...

  • Duffy is way better, She sings like she means the words in the lyrick. I don,t think Linda do that so much.

. And i am old enough to not like Cyrus or Beaver!!

Sorry for insulting " the soul"

  • @anitacathrine You gotta have a soul first.

  • @adcan45

It,s a matter of taste. I happend to like Duffy better of the female singers, others like Linda better.

    Regardless, rhe song is awsome!

Wish you a great weekend :O)

  • @anitacathrine I would like to personally and publicly apologize for my glib, and silly comment to you. You are right--to each their own. No excuses, but Linda is very near and dear to MY soul; like she, or even Duffy, need us to defend them! PEACE to you, and yours. :')

  • @adcan45

Thank you so much. You Are like sunshine on a cloudy day!

There is so rear to Get a Nice Word.

And so true, they Are bout great, and i do understand why Linda is close to your Soul. I do liike her woice, and she have other amazing songs.

I wish you and the one you love a great summer, filled with joy and happy memories.

    Anita :0)

  • @anitacathrine RIGHT IT ONE MILLION TIMES AND MAYBE SOME IDIOT THINK IT THE SAME WAY, BY THE WAY WHO OR WHAT IS "DUFFY", JAJAJAJA. IF YOU DONT LIKE IT PLEASE GET OUT OF HERE!!!! HI

  • Id bet Cat Stevens was always proud of Linda for this version>>>>>

  • the tempo is fast and im not into the motown backing singers

  • at the end, she is just so cute! that sweet "thank you", and that little run she does... reminds me of how darling a lady she is! and why i fell in love with her to begin with!

  • @Likeadiamondsnake I was thinking the same thing. Her actions were like that of a little girl. So cute and so feminine. I never realized just how petite she is. She really did have the combination of cute and sexy going on at the same time. I am so madly in love with her.

  • A good performance in a country style. P P Arnold is still the Princess where this song is concerned. Just listen, close your eyes, loose all loyalty. Well done Linda but PP rules.

  • The combination of power and beauty has never been matched. The only person I can think of who has a little of this magic is Kelly Clarkson, but unfortunately she's associated with that mess of a show.

  • @jondavwal As a long time Linda fan, your comparison to Ms. Clarkson is understandable. I may be one of the few people on the planet who has a NEVER watched American Idol, but I know of Kelly.

  • @adcan45 I've barely watched it. I didn't watch any of it the year she won but went back and watched some of it on youtube. I wanted to hate Kelly Clarkson but you just can't. Her voice is too good. But Linda was the greatest voice I've ever heard live and I started going to her concerts in 1976. As I said before, the combination of sheer power and unbelievable beauty has never been heard before or since.

  • You are good

  • why cant these wannabe women these days be way more like this Woman.

  • @TheCagefree Because nowadays they're wannabe men: wanting all the adult priveleges that males have had while hiding behind their girliness in order to avoid the extra responsibilities that come with it.

  • I can never get tired of this!!

  • Love this video!!!! back in the late 70's I think. No one ever heard this song. And she belted it out. You go Linda!!!!!!

  • Linda is as good as it gets. Sheryl Crow? Give me a break. Only other female singer that comes close to Linda is Ann Wilson.

  • This is the standard. What power and emotion.

  • Crow isn't in the same PLANET as this lady! Quit kidding yourself.

LR is the textbook singer with tons of emotion!

  • Nice to see Herb Pedersen playing guitar on this song !

  • WOW!!!

  • Sheryl nailed it.

  • who's with Sherlie Matthews back there pleez?

  • sheryl Crow version is better

  • @Alfonsomarisol Sheryl WHO?

  • @attra91 Crow.

  • @Alfonsomarisol A bird?

  • @Alfonsomarisol In MY opinion Cat Stevens & Rod Stewart is better, does this mean this is NO GOOD?

  • @357HFC of course not , i do like her also. Is only my opinion about this version

  • Incredible i loved it, i loved it and love her!!!!

    Long live the USA!!!!!!

    Viva Mexico Cabrones, AAAhhhhuuua!!!!!!!!!

  • Oh this is an old song. I didn't like Sheryl Crow's version and then I saw Duffy sing it on youtube which I liked so much. But Linda SANG it! Love it!

  • Wow, what a heartless, and bland version of a beautiful song. So sad.

  • @PtolemyJones Got wax in your ears?

  • @adcan45 Wish I did, I'm sure I would like this almost as much as you...

  • i never knew it was by cat stevens.

  • I don't know how anyone can say she lacks emotion, out of all the singers I've heard, Linda's voice always seems to express emotion better than anyone else.

  • @LovableDramaQueen You are so right! Most times, I try to ignore those baseless comments. I tell myself "to each their own". And then again, I won't waste my time looking up videos of artists I don't care for, just to make negative comments. Maybe some people just need attention in that way? Sad.

  • There was another clip around this time of her and she's wearing a big glitter teardrop on her face. It was to hide a pimple, but Bowie was doing glitter makeup back then so it fit right in. I think the song was "Tracks of My Tears". It may have been Midnight Special.

  • Powerful version, she rocks it and so do the back-ups. I think she did this song on "The Midnight Special" too.

  • @BarkleyConners It was on ABC's In Concert series which ran around the same time as Midnight Special.

  • What a hottie!

  • This video broadcast was lost (even by the network) until julianpineirua posted it here for the world to enjoy so we owe him a great debt of gratitude. Linda sang two songs on this TV special. This one was the second. The first one led into this one and is another Cat Stevens song called Fill My Eyes. It is also available on youtube. Check it out. Thanks again to Julian!

  • @robtempe Thanks for the tip--Thanks Julian!! As a Ronstadt fan, I will always be grateful for your posts!

  • To all LR fans: Do yourself a favor and Netflix the Johnny Cash concert at Folsom Prison. LR guest stars at the very Zenith of her early exploding stardom, and sings her 4 top hits and absolutely KILLS it! She TOTALLY STEALS THE SHOW! It is the very best performance and quality footage that I have ever seen of her- Without question. In the program she does for the prisoners, all the music, wardrobe and dancing is perfectly planned out and you see precisely Y she became an ultra superStar!

  • @centerice Thanks for the tip! Can't wait...

  • I love music that has black girls shakin tamborines in the background!

  • The tempo is wrong, and her voice lacks any emotion. Just because she is loud doesn't mean she is expressing any emotion.

  • @dnmurphy48 wrong tempo? have you heard the original? lacking emotion? how old ARE you? the soul is incredible. I know she's not highly cyrus or justin beaver but NEWSFLASH: this IS how it's DONE!

  • @rubyred0039 amen!

  • @rubyred0039 ok get off your high horse lol she was than this is now lol

  • @EmoDeathStar121 well if being on my high horse means I can differentiate between truly talented artists, and everyone else - I'll happily stay put, thankyouverymuch. In fact, why don't you join me? The air's great up here....

  • @rubyred0039 HAHAHAHA "highly cyrus or justin beaver" TOO FUNNY!!!

  • @rubyred0039 - It IS at the wrong tempo, compared to Cat Stevens, she sounds like Diahrrea, she isn't putting much emotion into it. Any old person will tell you all of this. Chump.

  • @Alex11710 agreed. couldnt have said it better

  • @Alex11710 Show us how YOU would do it then...put up or shut up!

  • @adcan45 - Not now, I'm busy.

  • @rubyred0039 I could't have said it any better! This song is an astonishing testement to real, honest, heartfelt, soul stirring music!! I'ts sad that some people dont get it.

  • @rubyred0039 A true artist does not follow what was originally done. they call that making the song your own. or puting your own stamp on it. Artistry!!!!!

  • @Huntinbear she never recorded this song for an album, only sang it in this concert which starred Cat Stevens. And obviously it isn't the EXACT same way Cat sang it...she even changes a few of the lyrics. Still Artistry!!!!!!

  • @dnmurphy48 linda is a famous singer and you are a douche i never heard of, who gives a fuck what you think tempo and emotion dipshit

  • 15 people don't like music

  • @aajj1144 Or got wax in their ears!!

  • Great singing from a great singer. The current group of pop-tart singers should never be mentioned in the same paragraph with Linda Ronstadt.

  • Ah linda linda you were my queen

  • Great video of this song, she really gets in to it. I don't understand why she's not in the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame.

  • Anyone who did not stand, after that performance, should be shot!

  • I'm seeing a girl who looks just like her! Lucky me!!

  • @shendrick12 not much use if she can't sing like her, huh? ;) j/k hope you two share a happy life and love together!

  • i love her sweet voice

  • cat stevens blow both of them away lol

  • @tiana1017 iam so glad you prefer that muslim cat stevens

  • @ampworx1972 And what is your warped religion? Dont tell me you are a "christian"?

  • I just listened to Sheryl Crow sing the same song, no comparison what so ever. Linda you are and will always be number one, the best voice ever!

  • Unbelieveable! I can listen to her all day!

  • I fell in love with my wife Laurie at a Linda Rondstat concert back in 1980. Unfortunally she died suddendly of a heart attack in 2001 at the age of 42.

I still miss her everyday and watching this video brings back so many good memories. That beautiful girl could sing too

  • best cover of this song What a voice!!!

  • OMFG WHERE in the world did you find this???

This is from the 1973 ABC In Concert Cat Stevens "Rainbow" show that I literally begged Dick Clark years ago to restore and release to the public. The concert has been released in snippets as part of Cat Stevens-related video compilations but to this date hasn't yet been restored in its entire state..what a pity! In the concert she did a splendid version of "Fill My Eyes" that really brought a smile from Cat!

  • @Babyhowdy233 Wow, it's the "Fill My Eyes" that I've remembered all these years. I'd forgotten this one! Thanks for resurrecting it.

  • Thanks for the time after the song to hear the applause and to see Linda come back out. She is still the finest. This song is one of her best.

  • this voice never fails to bring a tear

  • multibaldeagle ur fucked in the head.the ones u mentoined are good, but thre's only one linda thank you very much.

  • lady ga ga isn't in her ballpark.come on get real.

  • I liked the little mousy thank you at the end. lol How do you go from huge booming confident singing voice to that is lolz worthy. Love ya Linda!

  • Man what a great track. "There are good singers, great singers and there's Linda" Well said. Great range at the end.

  • Beautiful woman with beautiful voice.

  • soooooooooo beautiful ....

.. and the song is pretty good tooo !

  • I'm talking about a CD track.

  • I searched, but it seems Linda never recorded this song. Too bad.

  • @Gordon102554 I found a recording of Linda singing this song. Not only audio, but video too. Can you guess where I found it?

  • Estimated friend, if you want to listen again this song and an endless number of successes of the love I suggest you to visit Radio MUSICA PARA MIMOS - looks for his direction URL in Google ( search Musica para Mimos in Google)-. best romantic music of all the times in Internet, is great, is very good ...!!!

  • So I was browsing Youtube for P.P. Arnold's songs. She's a quite good singer that was active in England. And she sings this song quite well. In the comments, someone said that Linda sang it too, so I listened to this version.

Yeah. There's no comparison between when Linda sings something and anyone else sings it. Linda's ten times better. Every time. This time too.

  • LINDER RAINSTARTER COULD SANG - YEP!!!

  • @forestroot Oh i feel so bad for your comment, coming from someone of your stature, but again please Who are you?

  • Wow I never knew she did this song. She makes it sound so great. You could tell why so many artists chose to sing her music, she really does have some of the best.

  • love it.

  • I just can't get over that ringing huge angelic voice coming out of that little brunette! I guess I never will!

  • I AGREE WITH CWEBSTERK SHE IS FROM GOD !!

  • never heard this before, wow she's amazing. Always liked her song, but was too young to remember her name...

  • never knew she performed this one -- excellent!

  • lady ga ga puts her to shame !!! Now that is " real " talent !!

  • @forestroot please tell me you are joking! Ok I get it, you were joking. Ha ha. Thank lady gaga! whew that was close.

  • I never knew she did this song! Where was I? Wow! Oh... '73... that explains it. LOL... I always loved her voice and yep, she did it justice but then, so far, I've never heard a bad version of this song.

  • People seem to forget sometimes that Linda Ronstadt can SING!! Then she shows to your town and blows you away!!!

  • She lives her music on stage with all she has. Impressive and so volnarable.

  • Little girl with a big voice :) I used to have that haircut and those clothes, too.

  • @Borderpc Yeah and your opinion is worth S h 1 T

  • @Borderpc got wax in your ears? go listen to justin bieber then...

  • @forestroot can we hear you sing?

  • @forestroot And still so f n unbelievably AMAZING!!!! Isn't she awesome???

  • i absolutely love her. she's the best there was, is or will ever be.

  • wow that is pretty much beyond awesome

  • Look at a list of who is in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. You'll notice that neither Ann and Nancy Wilson nor Linda Ronstadt are in there! What is wrong with THIS picture? THAT, my friends is a crime in and of itself!

  • @MultiBaldEagle RnR HoF is a joke--IMO, it became a joke when Madonna and Abba were admitted before the ones you mentioned...

  • @MultiBaldEagle I checked and it shocked me. I was under the impression that Linda wasn't in due to some political reasons but Heart? I mean, who rocked harder?

  • @soaringvulture Politics shouldn't be allowed into the picture!

  • My Heart Is Unhinged

  • What is the orig source for this? Is it available in a DVD format?

  • She has the most amazing and unique voice. She would bury any of the female vocalists today if she was still singing these songs....
