I'm new to dancing, so I get confused with the difference between lyrical and modern. What I had gathered was that this would be more modern since the feet are flexed. Is it lyrical only b/c it tells a story? I thought it needed more ballet in it to be considered so. Could someone who knows what they're talkig about explain this to me?
The choreography is beautiful, but aggressive and seems to pull a long line of contemporary dance. Perhaps the search for classical ballet technique and the Martha Graham's technique leave the coreography less agressive and more lyrical.
