I hope to be a cabin crew in emirates and hopefully I can achieve. I have only 13, i´m from argentina, but I dream that can be part of a big airline like this
@ajithpatrick Not at all, Emirates is a wide body airline only. The amount of people they carry, they would have no use for them. Short haul flights are done with all types, including the A380.
@BettinaFromBrazil well once u get ur commercial then u have 2 build some flight experience by teaching other studens and, working 4 a commuters good luck, all i can say study very hard !
So im just gonna use Air Canada to get my flight hours...and then move to Emirates...i thought Air Canada was a dream...i guess i changed dreams.. Im gonna fly for them someday ..
@12Bhutto In Toronto if you fly for Air Canada pilots still have to pay for parking but the fact that you are picked up and provided a home which you dont have to pay for a tax free salary ... that beats air canada by a mile...but either way to fly for emirate you need like 5000 hours thats just which mean i would fly for Air Canada either way to get them.
are you kidding me Captain Abbas Shaban? Considering you are the chief pilot, shouldn't you be wearing a more appropriate attire, other than that al qaeda uniform inspired outfit?
I wish to know how many hours do you need to apply and what kind of experience, I mean can you go there if your last asrcraft was a F100 or maybe the a320`s family?
@jorgemdllin You can see in the emriates web site in the career section. I remember you need about 2000 hours of experience atp licence, its not as difficult as most people think.
@jorgemdllin You would need a certain amount of hours on your license along with a Long Haul Rating. See Emirates website as i think they have all the requirements on there!
@HeathrowSpottingHD thanks for your answer man,I saw it already on the emirates page,is not as much hours as I thought,I dont remember right now but if I`m not wrong is about 5000 with some requirements.
@jorgemdllin No problem! Yeah something like that. I think i'm wrong about the Long Haul Rating as i think you get that with Emirates if you don't already. I'm starting my CPL/ATPL next year and doing my PPL in September! Can't wait.
@HeathrowSpottingHD You don't need any long haul experience to work for Emirates, in December the requirements were 2500hrs on 60 tonne plus jets. e.g 737/A320 I think they have reduced it now as there are a lot of US pilots flying CRJ's that don't meet that original requirement. Long haul is not a rating, just different type of flying.
@jonny96 Nope your completely wrong, not sure about going into EK with a long haul rating but my uncle flies the 767 F/O for BAW and had to get a long haul rating on it before doing flights 4+ Hours.
@HeathrowSpottingHD I'm not arguing with you mate, just saying there is no such thing as a long haul rating. I don't have one and I managed to get from Dubai to Cape town and back a few days ago without one! I was on a 737 before at Jet2.com (check my channel) and we did 4 hour plus flights with no other rating. There is a thing called ETOPs which is extended twin ops, but thats only if you go 120 mins from a suitable airport. Might be an internal BA thing they do, not at EK.
@jonny96 Fair enough, I'll ask him when I email him next. I think EK is one the only airlines you can dive right into Long Haul! Airlines like BA,Qantas they work by seniority so your position on each aircraft & pay goes up over the years. I know Virgin etc you need around 5,000-6,000 hours, to be honest every airline is mostly different :)
@HeathrowSpottingHD Yeah your right there, BA and Qantas especially, very seniority orientated. There are 737 guys going straight in on the 747 right hand seat though at BA. EK is sucking a lot of euro pilots up, Ryanair in particular! I know Jet2 alone have lost around 30%+pilots to EK. EK only fly long haul aircraft, but you get to fly them on the short flights round the middle east and the longest flights in the world e.g SFO/LAX 16 hours over the north pole! Thats why is so appealing
@jonny96 Yep! I'm moving to Los Angeles in 7 days from London & start my PPL end of September then do my Frozen ATPL etc next year, i want to get in with a smaller airline then get some experience then maybe i could end up in EK! I'd love that but i don't like thinking to far ahead. I'll want to get on the 777 for sure!
@jorgemdllin Yeah you need 2,500 hours on a Multi Engine Aircraft so a 737 or something. Or even if you flew for a small charter airline with aircraft that are Multi Engine!
@Mr19851990307 Yes I think so, although I'm not sure you can get a CPL in the EK Aviation College. You can get a dispatcher's license, cabin crew training, mechanic training etc. Although with the current situation you don't really want to be in Emirates. First off they will never hire you with 200 hours just finished training. They hire First Officers with valid ATPL's, and to hold one. you must have been a captain in a previous airline you've been. Which means over 5000 hours of flying.
Tu fais quel genre d'etudes?
Why did I apply for Qatar? :(
