You also need to realize the real and relevant differences between 'Nam vets and vets of the current wars - 'Nam vets by and large did not sign up, they were drafted. They did die in vain, but that's why they deserve our sympathy - they died in vain fighting a war of imperialist and ideological aggression, and they were given no choice in the matter.

Western reconstruction efforts as a whole are economically exploitative and politically imperialist.

In my opinion Afghanistan war was justified and necessary because they were harbouring Al Qaeda terorists and Talibans are there. But, in contrast to the Afghan war, Iraq war was illegal, immoral , barbaric and was completely based on lies and deceptions. Do some research. Iraqis never attacked us, they never harmed us. We've killed more than million Iraqis,destroyed their infrastructure and everything.
