  • Well I'll have to disagree with you as we are forced to pay in for other things examples.

I pay my bills online yet my tax dollars pay to subsidize the post office.

I have no children but my tax dollars go towards public education.

If someone doesn't own a car they still pay taxes for roads, bridges.

You pay for old people's SS & Medicare.

Your taxes pay for fire & police services.

Lots of things we are forced to pay into, I view healthcare as no different as those listed above.

  • Yes, you're right that you have to pay into these things. Which is why we have to fight about it.

The founding fathers would be rolling in their graves. They were mad when they had to pay for the stamp act, and the taxes on tea. Why aren't we mad about all of these ridiculous taxes? They're stealing our property.

Healthcare would also be a stealing of property.

  • Out of all of the things above, the only Power that is allotted to Congress is paying for the post office. Fire and Police are local decisions. Everything else is unconstitutional. Yes, unconstitutional. (U.S Constitution, Article 1 Section 8).

Healthcare, education, SS & Medicare are unconstitutional. They are not listed in Article 1 Section 8, and they are not natural rights.

  • Well I think that's how you look at the Constitution, some look at it as the 10 commandments & should not be added to or interpreted while others look at it as an expanding evolving documents.

I prefer the latter, as I believe the founding fathers meant for it to be expanded on, otherwise they would of said nothing should be added to the Constitution..

I look at the US as a community & I know there has to be some decisions made for the benefit of the community.

  • I know a highway system benefits the community, that having a military protects the community from invasion.. That some regulations like not dumping toxic chemicals into the nearby water supply is a good thing..

Its just a differing views of opinion on what the Constitution is & it has been argued over the last 200 years.. I just feel if you look at it as a holy piece of paper you can not change then teh 15th ammendment would not have been passed giving blacks rights.

  • Again, freedom lovers know that a right is a right is a right, and they wanted the federal government to see that no matter what color your skin, you are a human and you have rights. You are not a piece of property.

This is the difference between a right and a privilege. Blacks were thought to be a piece of property, and did not have rights, but were privileged to eat and live, which is not natural at all.

  • I am truly a strict constitutionalist, in that the powers delegated to congress are specifically laid out for them. The problem is that the Congress doesn't abide by it, because they think that it's just a guide, and not the supreme law of the land.

It can be expanded. But if they want to secure a human right, they must amend the constitution.

So, strictly speaking, right now SS and Medicare and medicaid are unconsitutional, because they are not a right, and not a Power delegated to Congress.
