Flight Unlimited 3 Beechjet Flight

My FU3 ran on a PII 233MHz, 64MB, with a Nvidia Pre-GForce era IDE port graphics adapter and a Voodoo accelerator card, and looked similarly well and ran smoothly! -That makes all others look like waste of resources, somehow. Why did they ever stop the development of Flight Ulimited?

youre right Shokalion press the star button to the left of the minus key

(2nd right from numlok) for revese thrusters. thats on my desk top

Does anyone know how to make FU3 run on Windows 7 Home primium cos i've installed it and all that happens is you here the menu start up aircraft sound and a black screen with half a couple of menu buttons and you cant mouse the pointer or anything. Does it need a compatibility patch or something? help :)

@joshs1uk yep you right click properties then go to the Compatibility and check the box to run it in compatibility with Windows XP SP3 I am doing this on x64 windows 7 home premium for ages now.

I had a feeling it was the * key on the numpad that unlocked the reversers... It's definitely a numpad key.

i noticed you had auto-pilot on on takeoff thats just stupid and a cheaty way to get a perfect flight.

No, if you look at the green lights above the main autopilot switch then you'll see that the autopilot was armed but only the flight director was active. The autopilot didn't take over until 1:56 into the flight and was switched off for approach and landing.

Such a shame they didn't sort out showing shadows properly in this sim, before they released it & patched it..

It's long overdue that they should make this open source, so that it can have fresh life breathed into it... Heck the original developers are long gone & the publishers who hold it, don't care about it...

well flight unlimited 3 is quite and old game, the graphics are crap, the planes are crap, pretty much everything is crap. but its still good fun. FSX is a 15 GB ultra-high graphics simulator which tries to be as realistic as possible. thats the main differences

You need to alter your graphics card settings, i.e. change anti-aliasing and filtering from Application Controlled to whatever manual setting (4x, 8x, etc.) work best for you. You probably need to create an FU3 profile for these settings, so you can swap between them when you need to.

Aeroflop, have you tried breaking both the wings off and the tail without damaging the gears, then taking it onto a long flat plain and putting the engines at full throttle?

You can go at 300+ knots :P

There isn't a speedbrake as such. The Beechjet uses 'spoilerons', which double as ailerons and speedbrake. The spoilerons are the long 'strips' at the rear of each wing.

No, the only patch I know of was released shortly after the sim was released, to fix some bugs. Try the FU section of Avsim Forum - some of the guys there might be able to help.

Nice landing.. i been learning it in about 2 days on the nice weather with relax winds on 2-5 mgh. but been flight throght the bad weather with very dark and thurm. so then my engine r turned down. and too hard to land when it too much winds. lol,

Drop-off point should be Looking Glass Aviation. If you hit Alt_F12 then you should be directed to your destination. I think that your 'passengers' will tell you where to go?

The wind noise at cruise speed was the only annoying thing about that plane. I loved the sim but that whoosing sound got so loud it drowned out everything else. Never found out how to change it.

Use keypad / for the spoilers.

Use keypad * to deploy the thrust reversers.

Use can also deploy the reversers by clicking the small levers mounted above the throttle levers. Easier to use * though.

Not without more info. What do you mean by 'bad'? What resolution are you running at? What's your hardware (graphics card, etc.)?

well the ground and the arport runways are really bad, they look like cartoons. not like urs. the resolution is 800 by 600 pixels and the colour quality is 32 bit. but how do u find out ur graphic card's info??

You're not flying in the outer region are you? The outer terrain has very poor scenery and very few models. Only the Seattle region has hi-res scenery.

In FU3 pressing Alt&F12 gives a visual aid for taxiing to the runway. Not sure if this works in FU2. I doubt you'll be able to download FU3. It's very cheap to buy and can stil be found in shops and on Amazon.

Lots of practice! Nail the glidescope, get the trim sorted, set power to about 50% or so (depending on fuel level and weather conditions) and the rest is easy!
