Well, I'm glad you didn't turn toward the AGW myth, there. The temperature went up a full degree and a half in the last century. At that rate, it will be several more centuries before we even see the temperature seen in the Medieval Warm Period. That's what a lot of the "scientists" promoting the AGW myth fail to cite. I'm betting that in the next few decades, we will start to see a global cooling. This won't change a thing, though. It will be like the cooling in the mid 1900s.

Global Warming was never Human made but it was mostly Human nature that caused it. Global Warming is natural along with Sea level rising. yes the see level will rise and is rising, when you have billion ton chunks falling off. Snow reflects 94% of light. Ocean water reflects only 30% and absorbs the rest. When a slight increase in temperature occurs, huge chunks of ice fall off, melt, and create a darker environment which makes warming more rapid. This is a positive feedback loop, and it is VERY dangerous when one considers that the world that we live in is DOMINATED by negative feedback loops which keeps everything in check.
Yet you fail to make the point that the expanse of snow surface area acts as a positive feedback to cool. So neither extreme is good. Yes we are dominated by negative feedbacks, many of which we know little about or have not yet even discovered yet, these have kept and will keep positive feedbacks in check.

At that rate, it will be several more centuries before we even see the temperature seen in the Medieval Warm Period. That's what a lot of the "scientists" promoting the AGW myth fail to cite. But plug-in cars would only be an effective improvement if the electric power source was clean coal mined in the USA. Any urgency for these steps should not be due to proposed human-induced climate change, but yeah energy independence and less pollution are reasons I'll drink to. Not one scientist can know for sure the effects of emissions but just the possible planetary threat alone makes a worthwhile cause to promote. I think that Obama is going about this in the correct fashion as the USA has to become dominant developing these clean technologies. To do that their economy has to stay strong inorder to finance them. As much as I am worried about Global Warming, I seriously don't believe the world is going to be under water by then. The world is just too round and big. Even if the ice was to all melt, it's hard to believe that the sea level will raise that much.

People studying this stuff for their entire lives, with no monetary incentives are telling you this is happening. The people trying to create the controversies and say it is not happening get their funding from oil companies, who DO have a monetary benefit (a large one mind you...see Exxon mobil).

Uhh there is much more ill-legit money flowing through government grands and funds that were first catalyzed by mainstream scientists saying this is such a huge problem. If you actually look at the data the Earth has been warming slowly and steadily since the mid-1800s, meanwhile CO2 has been increasing exponentially. The climate models that are the basis for this hysteria were initialized poorly and are horribly inaccurate. The Earth if anything has cooled the last 10 years.

yes the see level will rise and is rising, when you have billion ton chunks falling off. Snow reflects 94% of light. Ocean water reflects only 30% and absorbs the rest. When a slight increase in temperature occurs, huge chunks of ice fall off, melt, and create a darker environment which makes warming more rapid. This is a positive feedback loop, and it is VERY dangerous when one considers that the world that we live in is DOMINATED by negative feedback loops which keeps everything in check.

Yes we are dominated by negative feedbacks, many of which we know little about or have not yet even discovered yet, these have kept and will keep positive feedbacks in check.

All scientific theories are based on facts and evidence, however they may not be complete. For example, the big bang theory. Evidence shows that the universe is expanding. Stars and planets are moving further apart from each other, this indicates that they were previously closer together and at one time possibly as one group of matter.
All the facts and knowledge are not there, but none the less, it is built on the facts available.
Facts produce theory and theory produce laws.

If you look at historical ice core samples you will see that the temperature changes pre-date the increase in CO2 emmisions by many years, which can easily be explained and proven.
You see the largest off-gasser of Co2 on Earth is the ocean, which un-coincidentally is the largest surface area on Earth. When the temperature increases, the ocean surface heats up and vaporizes into the atmosphere. Global warming is a farce to get our money!

Big business has jumped on the GW bandwagon for two reasons. (1) They understand the issue has gained traction with voters and have decided to join in to be able to better effect legislation, and (2) it's a godsend. Think of how easy it will be for them to jack prices (on everything) through the roof. Their canned answer will be that higher prices are justified because of higher costs associated with going "green".

Clinton/Bush have too many ties to the evil companies that make profit and cause the global warming. They make money from the CO2 that is killing plants and make money from polluting. USA needs to vote OBAMA. He is the only person who pledged to eliminate CO2 from the atmosphere and will stop the warming...before its too late!

Windmills will never produce enough energy to meet the energy needs of 200+ million people. And more pollution is produced from making ethonol, solar panels, batteries, etc. than making gasoline and they will never be enough. Not even close.

solar generated electricity looks very promising for meeting the demands of that many people. In fact, think of some of the areas in the southwest, like phoenix- some people have called it "the middle east of solar power". Ive heard that overseas companies are buying plots of land there to build solar farms. If thats all true, i wonder if the local gov. & power industries are properly investing in that land as well?
