Happy Birthday HENRi MATiSSE born on this 31st day of December in 1869 ~ 1954. Matisse was brilliant with his use of colour, this collection of colour & composition is an inspiring way of looking at the world :-)
Matisse e as cores y, as cores e Matisse, sempre forón collidos da manciña. Este Matisse penso que tiña un coñecemento moi amplio e profundo da cor. Por certo, alguén podería decirme de quen é, esta música fermosiña?? . . . dan ganas de bailar. . .
Does anyone know the name of the following painting of his : its of a rather fat woman lying down with besides a cup of tea and sourcer, on a table... the background is yellow and the lady is wearing a mint coloured shirt..... anyone??? i desperately need to know the name.... reply back if anyone knows... thanx
matisse is a wonderful artist, i am curently oing an art project onhim and i cant find some thing on the net, can anyone help me in finding the value of his paintings then (in his time) and value now? help will be very appreciated
I work at the Baltimore Museum of Art. We have over 600 works of art from Matisse. He truly is a master in a class all by himself. I love that I get to look at him on a daily basis. We have an exhibition going on right now called Matisse painter as Sculptor. If anyone is in Baltimore area you should check it out.
Briliant, brilliant brilliant! I love old Matisse. His drive to still explore colour & composition on his sick-bed, when he couldn`t paint but used coloured, cut-out paper instead is just inspirig.
Matisse really has become of my favorite artists. I tend to appreciate him more with age, and I'm not that old. His color schemes are in a class by themselves. I always favored artists like Monet and Cezanne, who reveal bright but earthy palettes. Primary colors seemed too "loud" and artificial. But I have changed my mind. Matisse creates a canvas with an agreeable orchestration of colors in a world which only Matisse could express.
many of my favorites from the Barnes Foundation. One cannot talk intelligently about Matisse and not cite works from the Barnes. See the originals when in or around Philly. Go to the Barnes in Merion, PA
Creativity takes courage - Matisse GREAT video, thankyou : D
