When I buy a performance sport compact vehicle and put 12k into it, it will most likely out perform more expensive vehicles...just like a $1000 honda can be made to do the 1/4 in 7 seconds. For those that hate on the engine, it has won more races as a pecentage of entries than any other maker and has more finishes as a percentage of entries than any other maker due to reliability. Quote all the BS you want to about reliability but, facts are facts, the rotary is more reliable when proper maintenance is done to it.

I have invested over 14k into my sentra and I am not just talking big on the internet. I did all suspension work first. I have a half roll cage in it for Christ's sake. Of course it is going to handle very well! The Rx8 is a cool car; I wasn' bashing it. I am just saying I thought it would be better than what it was (stock) for how much it costs.
People hate on the 8 cause they dont want to admit that a little 1.3L engine just handed them their butt. The 8 is one of the best all around cars ever built. Its not the fastest but is fast, its not the best handler but, it is better than a vast majority, and it seats 4 comfortably and brakes as well as many supercars. nothing is even close the all around value you get when you buy an 8.
That is my Rx8 in the video it only has a turbo xs catback and a k&n drop in filter. it has a cat on it for the race but with the cat off i made 202 whp on a mustang dyno.
oh ya also! "and im sure it wasn't a stock rx8" thats what u said right? well dick mr know it all. i dont hear any bov, no sc and i highly doubt its got nitrous. So if u knew anything about rx8's you would know when they come out stock there pretty much maxed out u can not add any major horse power to that care with out it being forced induction. intake, pulleys, exhaust name it none of that shit adds horse on an rx8 if it does its like 1-2hp and i doubt its even that

I drove a 6spd '04 rx8 3 days ago and it really is not that fast. It has the 1.3 liter renesis rotary engine with 230hp and 159lb ft tq. You have to keep the revs within 2500 of redline to get any power from it. It isn't worth the money they cost. It looks sweet and the little suicide door is cool. I put my foot on the floor though and it did not do much. I drive an '02 sentra se-r 5spd that runs in the mid 14's and it is all motor. It is faster than the rx8 and handles better.

just an fyi look at the national auto cross and see what car has been winning since 05 when it got classed in b stock. i own a sentra with the qr25 and an rx8 i love my sentra and in a straight line my sentra would beat my rx8 but on a track the sentra cant touch my stock rx8 and yes there is suspension work done to my sentra. learn your facts better. the sentra with a full suspension would handle as well maybe just a little better then a stock rx8. but its sad when yours work is rx8 stock.
I have been to several scca events and auto x events and never seen an rx8 there...I have seen two turbo sentra's though...and what about Mini Coopers? Do they not handle well because they are front wheel drive? I have driven the twin scroll turbo mini and it handles like it's on rails. Mini's dominate the stock class for scca events.

They are unique. I like the suicide doors and they are smooth. But the other kid saying fwd cars cannot handle well is ignorant. You are right; for what it is the rx8 is nice. In the class rx8s are in in SCCA aren't miata's? Those things dominate SCCA as girlie as they are. S2000s dominate in SCCA events as well. I have honestly seen no rx8s in any. I would think their lack of torque would be a disadvantage as they cannot get up to speed in a short distance.
Money is low for many now and there are few that race. even my friend may not race at road atlanta next year cause of that. Fwd can handle well too. I agree with you. Its hard to take a car like the 8 and put the money needed to make it very competetive in this economy. Speedsource does it for endurance racing but, most are turning to Miatas as you can see.
The sentras that I saw were in B stock and D stock modified I think. The turbo sentra was killing it though. It was in first place in its class until it hit some cones. If you know of any SCCA events on youtube with rx8s let me know. I would like to see how one does.

Bad thing about rx8's is that they have ignition coils that suck. They tend to fail early and they can rob 10-15whp without you noticing. Since the power is all top end, it's hard to see if you really lost a lot. Only when you go to the track, dragstrip or just a dyno, you find out that there isnt much.
That's why I only have 164whp... if I upgrade my coils I might get around 185whp.
Spec V would have beat at the start if it wasnt a rolling start, and if the driver could shift

Yeah that is some bad shifting. The gearbox is very notchy in those sentras but is no excuse for that. haha
