Logging in from Wellington, New Zealand. Yes this is one of my favourites from way back then. I used to thrash this on my portable mono record player way down here down under. Those were the days! Thanks for the posting and the memories.
This brings back so many good memories. Look at the young Ray Brooks and the lovely Angela Douglas...Jet and Tony made some great records around this time. So sad to hear today of Jet`s passing. R.I.P. Jet.
Great to hear this Jet Harris track again after first hearing it on the juke box in my local coffee bar in Norwich circa 1962? Never thought Jet had a great singing voice but he more than made up for it with his bass playing - Nivram- brilliant! Besame Mucho, Main Title Theme etc. What a cool guy!! Does anybody know who played lead guitar on Jet's version of Some People? I think he used to be backed by the Jetblacks back then, but would love to know who played lead on the record.
@bmg1948 Always a pleasure to meet someone who remembers these great songs from the time. 'Besame Mucho' has to be my favourite by Mr Harris. Even though this is the version I first heard, Valerie Mountain & The Eagles did the definitive version of this for me - that 'steam piano' makes it for me. This is more of a 'La Bamba' style.
God, I feel so old !! :) Didn't this movie have something todo with the Duke of Edinborough Trust or something ? Seem the criticisms of kids hasn't changed mush over the years !!
There you go,showing my age once again, now you know its not just kids who get on youtube.I think that the last time I saw Angela was in one of those terrible Carry On ,shame,as she was nice on the eyes.
You're right of course, my two endearing memories of her are as Princess Jelhi (Carry On Up The Khyber) and Lady jane Ponsonby (Carry On, Follow That Camel). She had a classy, attractively soft demeanour.
Whilst I cant say I was really ever a fan of those Carry On movies,But the actual personel involved certainly helped,Angela always came across as a lovely person.
Agreeing with what I said top right, or have our great minds independently come to the same conclusion? Angela Dougals also a strangely masculine voice!
@SirBasildeBrush I never saw the film myself as I was in a remand home (in need of care and attention) not far from Bristol at the time. But we digged the song and it was amazing how many of the jds who knew people who had been in the film.
Anyone know what that white guitar on the left is?

Very very sorry to hear about Jet.
I always feel that Jet was let down by the rest of the Shads.
Ok so he had his drink problem, but he sorted himself out, and went on to have big hits.
I think that he should have been on the final tour in 2009.
Rest in peace Jet........Star.

Met Jet in 1976 when he was backed by The Diamonds. Him and Tony will be making great music in the great studio in the sky.

Havn't heard this since the late 60's. Takes me back to the good times which will never really be repeated.

Angela Douglas was a lovely English rose, then I think she went and married Kenneth More.
yardbirdmackay 2 years ago
She was, and you're right - married for 14 years after meeting on this film! Never realised that.

And did you get those winkle-pickers? Now THAT was a fashion style! Well remember crushing my toes into a pair of them back in the 60s!
hrpman 2 years ago
Never mind winkle-pickers - do you remember animal-trackers?
SirBasildeBrush 2 years ago
Er ... no. Mind you, the only animals you were likely to track in the back streets where I grew up were mangey dogs and asthmatic pigeons.

early "Blondie," ??? Seems like Angela can dance in only one area...by the keyboard player...they seem too clean to be American teens!!!
