  • Back on the East Side of Manhattan on Ave D. This song was always on someones radio, reminds me of when I met my wife at the Chez Jose up on 77th St.. they always played this and closed with Frank Sinatra The Summer Wind.. those were the day. Rest In Peace Anna this is for you

  • Growing up in the Bronx in the 50's and 60's, I remember hearing this song on the radio so many times. The velvet voice of Jimmy Sabater on lead vocal. Many years later, I had the privilege of meeting him and performing with him several times, even doing backup vocals on this song. Jimmy Sabater - truly one of the best.

  • this song is such a classic. it was the song in new york city radio airways during this era of the late 60's...if you want proof, look at the movie "A Bronx tale" and this song is playing in the background during the scene when the main mafia guy talks to little kid in the alley while the club door in open with music playing.

  • MAN IS THAT GOOD . GREAT LYRICS. I THINK JIMMY SABATEAR WAS SINGING LEAD I SHOULD SAY GOLDEN VOICE.

  • One of the greatest of all hipster love ballads. Brings me back to Symphony Sid: "A little Latin, a little Jazz."

  • now that's how you beg! beautiful god bless brother Cuba and brother Sabater; a true NYC love song...

  • I like this version so much better than the 1970's disco version.

  • You have great music man. I'm only 29 but love all the oldies. As a conga and bongo player I like to study the roots of Latin music. keep it up.

  • Thank you soooooo much for this. I think I must be the 9000 of the views, I have played it so many times. Love it. Agree with post below. Thank you for hipping me to Joe Cuba, but especially this oldie.
