  • i like them both there equal

  • NOW i would have to say

    1. Reyes

    2.Tulo

    3.Hanley

  • This year Jose wins at the best

  • handly all the way

  • I'd have to say Reyes is doing better than him in the 2011 season...

  • videos>slideshows

  • Jose reyes all the way, such an electric player, he causes havoc on the basepaths

  • Hanley Ramirez way better fuk outta here!

  • Keep Jose a Met! Go to payjose.com and sign the petition!

    payjose.com

  • hanely is a overall better player but im a mets fan

  • Hanley is much better... Plus he can stay on the field. When is the last time Jose Reyes played for a whole season with good numbers. Hanley all day.

  • goooooooooooooo rrrrrrrrrrrrreeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyeeeeeeessssss

  • I'm A Mets Fan But I Honestly Think Hanley Is An Over All Better Player.....Just My Opinion..

  • hanley fashooo

  • Lol guys no question here. Jose is plaqued right now with injuries and Hanley is only entering his peak and is younger. He's a five tool player and reyes is not, but I do like reyes as a shorstop not an above average leadoff or number 2 man, he doesnt walk enough to be very productful up there. Hanley can virtually hit anywhere in the lineup and how many times have you seen a shorstop who has 5 tools and can hit 30 homers bat .300 steal 50 and electrify an offense? If youre Miamiyouare ecstatic!!

  • hanely is a better hitter n hes alright with his glove but jose is faster but hes more of a show off

  • Reyes by far. He always hustles unlike Rameriz and isn't a whiney little bitch. When he's on base he makes the pitcher nervous and therefore can cause him to make mistakes. He has a surprising amount of power and is by far the better fielder, plus he did well in the postseason showing he can play under pressure, whereras little Rameriz has never played in front of more than a dozen home fans... Reyes wins easily.

  • Hanley all day baby!!!, not that reyes aint good but hanley is a beast

  • Hanley wins

  • Watching Jose Reyes Play is like watching an ADD Workshop his head is never in the game great talent , but not enough Mental Capacity, ill take Hanley Ramirez 1 hundred times over Jose .

  • hanley ramirez. he was chosen over jose reyes on the dominican team to play short stop. but even though hes a 5-tool player.

  • Jose Reyes? No the talk is who is better:Albert Pujols OR Hanley Ramirez.

  • jose reyes is always in injury cause he all ways is trying to do too much

  • im a huge mets fan but hanley is just a way better hitter but for fielder big time reyes i mean he is the best fielder right now so i say there tied or hanley is a little better but go mets and go reyes

  • hanley

  • sorry i spelled hanley wrong

  • it is clear that hanlet is better,he is the best shortstop in the MLB and jose looks like hes wearing lipstick

  • Hanley wins, hands down.

  • Hanley is alot better. Hanley has gotten alot better at fielding with his errors going down year after year. Hanley is also a contact and power hitter. He is fast but also hits homeruns. Not to mention that he's the NL Batting Champ last year.

  • @TaylorTV5 utley on first..... howard hits it to Dan (forgot last name) throws it too Reyes for first out Howard is about 8 steps from first Hanley DOES NOT THROW! but reyes missed second base once

  • jose reyes is a better fielder but hanley ramirez is a better hitter, but ramirez is also bigger so its almost guaranteed that he'll have more power but reyes is faster so i'd say overall they're kinda equal

  • @BoltsRamsFan2128 wat the hell he is not faster

  • @MrKylegordon are you high? tell me when hanley stole 78 bases in a season and then talk to me.

  • hanley ramirez is no doubt better than jose reyes... jose reyes is completly over rated. hanley ramirez is one of the best young players in the MLB.

  • how is her overated prove it with facts & dont talk shit

  • the only thing that jose reyes has over other people is his speed. He can't hit, hes an average 9 hole hitter at best. He's nothing special at shortstop, he just doesn't make a GREAT player to me.

  • Ok he cant hit ? are you serious your an ignorant person , when he was fully heathy in 2008 led the NL in hits with 204 , hit 37 doubles , led the league with 19 triples hit 16 homers & drove in 68 runs , & had an average of 297 & stole 56 bases , & a 9 hitter at best ??? the guy SCORES TONS OF RUNS & GETS ON BASE WTF ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT

  • ummm no he has'nt he plays 150+ games every year

  • -_- NO HE HASNT

  • okay look it up

  • he played 36 last year...... stud

  • ONE YEAR HE WAS HURT , hanley missed a ton of time because he was hurt

  • hanley ramires es mejor ke jose reyes , y tambien ke hanley no se lesiona tanto como jose reyes , es mas consistente y mejor pelotero.

  • CULO lol

  • Hanley and Reyes are Great in there own ways. look people i live in florida nn a huge marlins fan but Hanley Ramirez Has tons of power, aggresive, could play shortstop like a beast. And jose Reyes is Fast as crap, Has an arm, has alot of contact, wat i hav seened jose reyes dose not stike out, nn knws how to play the game. So in my opinion, there both probably the same but in different ways

  • hanley ramirez is better if you look at the stats you see that hanley is better

  • jose is the best hand down

  • shame hanley didnt win MVP

  • actually im not sure, both of these guysz r my favorite playersz but i tell u this.....jose hasz speed and hanley hasz da contact fielding,im not sure i would say jose though....hard choice but i kno hanley isz better than jose in battin because if u look closely, jose has been in da mlb longer than hanley like a good 2 yrsz and hanley still hasz about da same amount of RBI`S and of course has more homers.

  • @broldan94 reyes is a leadoff hitter thats why hanley bats 3rd reyes gets paid to get on base for guys like hanley lol

  • Hanley...no doubt...Fish rule...mets suck!

  • @Dexflorida fish suck your a poor ass team

  • Yeah, that "poor ass team" beat you in the standings. If the Marlins suck, what does that say about the Mets?

  • because we had half the team on the DL homo , but every year we've finish in front & now we have Jason Bay we getting stronger while your poor team cant barely pay for cody ross hahahahahahhaa

  • I'll just assume that this is directed towards me.

I'm not a Marlins fan. I am a Dodgers fan. Nice try though.

Every team has injuries. Your enormous payroll (second only to the Yankees) should've more than made up for all of your injuries. Your pitching staff sucks, even when they are healthy. With the exception of Santana, they are inconsistent. Bullpen sucks (K-Rod is massively overrated), and your lineup isn't that great outside of Beltran, Delgado (sometimes), and Wright.

  • ok ok let me stop this ,our lineup isnt great we got Jose reyes an allstar short stop who hits arounf 300 smack 16-18 bombs drives in 50+ and steals 50 bases 19 triples 40 doulbes , luis castillo Hit 300 last year a great year , david wright a gold glove 3rd baseman who hit above 300 and hit 300 homers and drives 100 , beltran is a 5 tool outfield one of the best , & delgado sometimes ?? he hit 38 homers and drove in 115 last year he's alway produced , & we got jason bay

  • Reyes has only hit "arounf" .300 twice. He's hit over 15 home runs twice. He's gotten 19 triples once, has never hit 40 doubles, and averages less than 55 walks a season. His career high in OBP was .355. That's terrible, especially for a leadoff hitter. Luis Castillo also posted a below-average OPS+. David Wright, by his standards, had a terrible season last year. Delgado is very injury-prone. He also posted his career low in OPS+ with the Mets. Reyes and Delgado are terrible defensively.

  • Ok but he's hit 16 triples the year before that . david wright will be back to norm & degado injury prone ?? he's played 140 + games every year w. the mets except last year fucking idiot , here one stat they dont keep when reyes plays the mest win . Reyes isnt terrible at defense kiddo . this is why i agree w. former mariner SS harold reynolds Baseball is more than numbers When these guys play they win & we proven that look at the 06 NLCSWE BEAT YOUR SUCK ASS DODGERS

  • Wow, someone is living in the past. You're going to talk about the 2006 NLCS? Seriously? Well, I guess all Mets fans can do is live in the past. Whatever.

Harold Reynolds was a fucking second baseman. It amazes me how dumb you are. Reyes is terrible defensively, he's 26 fielding runs BELOW average. That's terrible.

And what has Reyes won? Absolutely nothing. Nothing at all. God, you are fun to bully.

  • He also played SS jack ass

  • No, he actually didn't play one inning in his entire career at shortstop.

  • But when you look at his player profile it says 2nd/SS

  • I don't know what "player profile" you are talking about, but look at Baseball Almanac or Baseball-Reference or any website and you will see that he never played a single inning at shortstop. He played 1,374 games in his career. 1,339 of those came at second base, seven came as a DH, and the last one came as an outfielder.

Go ahead, keep thinking he was a shortstop.

  • DUMBASS ANY 2ND BASEMAN IS A / SS FAGGOT

  • That doesn't even begin to make sense. Apparently you do not realize that SS and 2B are two completely different positions.

  • 2B and SS are obviously different but have you seen Any video game player profiles anything just about most of the 2B have the short stop is their secound position not sayin that they play SS but saying that they can

  • It doesn't fucking matter what a video game says. Harold Reynolds played ZERO plays at shortstop in his entire career. He never fielded a single ball as a shortstop in the major leagues. Not one.

Besides, he sucked as a player and he's even worse as an analyst, so I would really avoid using his as an example. Who do you want to use next? Joe Morgan? Are you going to label him a shortstop too? How about John Kruk? Was he a shortstop too?

  • No Cal ripken was & Barry larkin & he thinks reyes is on of the most exciting players in baseball & your beloved Vince scully thinks so to .

  • are you retarded? you are comparing real life to a videogame.

  • Wtf are you talking about dipshit

  • okay you wanna talk stats? okay, Hanley ramirez: .342 BA, .540 SLG 106 RBI's, 42 2BH, 24 HR, .410 OBP :)

  • and thats still what his 7th season??

  • Reyes is still a all around better player , he gets his job done he gets on base & scores runs , Hanley may win with power , but reyes wins with defense , Speed , Clutch ability , & being a everyday Player & now he is going to bat third he is going to Drive more than 100 runs

  • if hes batting third, good luck having the mets be good for a long time. and the whole "everyday" player... try about "60" game player

  • GET YOUR FACTS HE HAS PLAYED IN MORE THAN 150 games IN 06 07 08 -_- ass

  • Ok and no team not even the yankes could of overcame all the injuries we had jackass , Our bullpen sucks so bad we lead the majors most of the year in bullpen ERA . Krod isnt overrated he had a good year he just didnt have allot of chances to saves games , besides mariano rivera krod is the next best . Our rotation had probles because again the injuries & when were healthy i didnt suck mike pelfry had an awesome year in 08 perez did great in 08 & jhn maine was an up & coming star until injuries

  • K-Rod is next best? Sure, if you want to ignore Trevor Hoffman, Jon Broxton, Papelbon, Joakim Soria, Joe Nathan, Heath Bell, Brian Wilson, and Ryan Franklin. Then, sure, K-Rod is next best.

Pelfrey's 2008 season was decent, a 113 ERA+ is not "awesome", it's good but not great. Oliver Perez posted an ERA+ of 100, which is league-average. He led the league in walks and posted a WHIP of 1.402. I guess your definitions of "great" and "awesome" differ from mine. John Maine is inconsistent too.

  • You want to talk about teams lets talk about your dodgers , Who's your best starter ??? you have no ace & you've lost two great pitchers , your bullpen is nothing just a closer who throws 100mph & gets rocked when he doesnt throw it , the dodgers are overrated you guys almost chocked to the rockies last year look it up

  • Chad Billingsley and Clayton Kershaw are two of our best. Kershaw was in the top five in ERA, K/9, and HR/9 and led the league in H/9 at the age of 21. Billingsley had an off-year but is still one of the best young pitchers in baseball (posted ERA+s over 130 in 2007 and 2008). Both are potential aces.

Bullpen is nothing? Broxton, Troncoso, Belisario, and Mota all posted an ERA+ over 115. No Mets relief pitcher with 65 innings posted a 115 ERA+.

  • they are good young pitchers but they arent in the same talk ass guys like Santana , Halladay , Lincecum , Haren . and your proud that your relief pitchers pitch that many innings that means your starters are going deep in the game

  • 65 innings is not a lot. 65 innings is a normal amount of innings for a relief pitcher.

Ok, and Oliver Perez and John Maine and Mike Pelfrey aren't in the same talk as guys like Aaron Harang, Ricky Nolasco, and A.J. Burnett. Just because Kershaw and Billingsley aren't as good as Haren, or Halladay, or Lincecum, or Santana doesn't mean that they aren't good. Josh Johnson is as good as Santana anyways, and you forgot to mention him.

  • Aaron Harang sucks ass

  • So do Mike Pelfrey and John Maine.

  • Mike Pelfrey sucks ???

  • Given the fact that his career ERA+ is nine points BELOW average, and given the fact that he is 28-32 with a 4.58 ERA, 1 4.89 WHIP, and gives up 10 H/9 and only strikes out 5.2 per nine innings, then yeah, he sucks.

  • he struggled early in his career like any rookie thats like be saying oh manny ate the ass the secound half of the season so yeah he sucks stfu your a hater white boy -_- & he isnt a strike out pitcher he's a ground ball pitcher

  • Oh, nice. I'm stupid because I'm white. Thanks for showing your true intelligence.

  • i never said your were stupid because youe white i said your a hater

  • My race has literally nothing to do with this discussion.

  • And pedro feliciano pitched in 88 games thats preety good .

  • Fewer than 65 innings. He got about two outs every game, if even that. Not really all that great. He's just a situational reliever, like Nelson and Stanton and Lloyd for the Yankees in the '90s.

  • it's all good though because our bullpen has nothing to loose we just signed Kelvim escobar & if he's healthy like the mets say he is that will be a lights out 8th inning . & we signed a top closer from japan Ryota igrashi & whenever a pitcher from japan comes over they dominate ex Dice K

  • The Mets also said that K-Rod and J.J. Putz would be lights out. And Kelvim Escobar has been great in like one season. And he was a starter that year.

  • jj was hurt krod did fine if the team was 100% he would of gotten more save chances . & no kiddo he saved 40 games for the blue jays one year . & again Krod is one of the best

  • you know what im starting to think you a hater . your dodgers suck ass hate on that those guys are the true chockers right there

  • "Chockers"?

If you want to live in the past, let's go back to the 2006 postseason. The Mets went 97-65 that season, the Cards went 83-78. The Mets went into the ninth inning tied with the Cards and promptly gave up the two runs that won the game for the Cards. And this was at Shea Stadium.

Uh huh, we are the "chockers".

I like how you say the Dodgers "suck ass" even though they only a billion times better than the Mets in 2009. And the Dodgers also went 5-1 against the Mets in 2009.

  • thats not a Choke just a blown victory . chocke is being in first place most by 10 plus games then be 1 game away from losing first place in aug. sounds familiar yeah the rockies came all the way back against your wack ass dodgers

  • Ummm, the Mets blew fairly big leads in back-to-back years. Remember that? Your epic collapses?

  • 2008 was not an epic collapse . your dodger one this year was way way worse

  • This is by far the funniest thing that you have said.

You were up by 3.5 games on September 10. You then went 7-10 to finish out the season, and you did not win a single series. This includes losing series to the Braves (twice) and the Marlins. You couldn't even beat the Nats, who you tied, and then tied the Cubs in both four-game series'. You went from 3.5 games up on Sep, 10 to 3.0 games behind at the end of the season.

And how did the Dodgers collapse? The Phillies were clearly better.

  • No they really werent they took advantage of a bad slump , & DID YOU SEE ESPN AT ALL DURING THE SUMMER all i heard the entire month of aug was if the dodgers lose these next set of games this will be the worst collapse in MLB history . & you guys barley missed the collapse by winning 2 out of 3 from the rockies but still goo look at the standings you guys completely washed the rockies out the race & little by little they came back thats SAD

  • 5-1 AGAINST a team that didnt have its allstars thats like the mets playing the dodgers w. out Manny , either , Blake , Kemp , imagine that thats what the mets had to work w. games w. out reyes , Wright , beltran , delgado , putz , maine ,perez , nieve, niese , martinez , santana , Schnider if those guys were healthy the mest would of won the NL east & made it deep in october

  • Stop talking shit about teams sucking in the month of JAN. talk shit during the season & lets see if the Mets suck so hard like you say . & watch my boy Reyes this season Career highs just watch & Mike pelfry & watch Jason bay . i'll make sure i'll watch your teams BEST OFF SEASON MOVE EVER JAMMIE CARROL (:

  • sorry for the type-o's

  • das like super men fighting spunge bob hanley is d second best player after alex rodriguez

  • JOSE REYES just look at his career numbers amazing he is the most exciting player in the MLB

  • His career numbers are so far from amazing, it's not even funny.

Yeah, his career 101 OPS+ is really amazing. His seven fielding runs below average defense is amazing too. And so is his career .278 EqA.

Yeah, Reyes is the greatest shortstop who ever lived with those kinds of numbers.

  • @EricAnno a career ops of 101 is good for a lead of hitter , ops is for power hitting guys so if reyes is that hight its fine they dont pay him to hit bombs they pay him to get hits and steal bases

  • Wrong, moron.

OPS is a combination of slugging and on-base percentages. Any player, even non-power hitters can have high SLG because extra-base hits are also valued very much. OPS+ takes into account the league's quality and the ballpark in which the player play in. A 101 OPS+ is not good for any hitter, as it is one point above average. For the "great hitter" that all of you Mets fans claim that Reyes is, the numbers prove that he is just an average to below-average hitter with speed.

  • Reyes has a better OPS then ichro What does that tell you ?????

  • Wow.

Since when does a .772 OPS beat an .811 OPS? And Ichiro's OPS+ is 17 points higher than Reyes. Plus, Ichiro's defense is a thousand times better, and (even though I hate batting average), Ichiro's BA is damn near 50 points higher than Reyes'. I could get into Ichiro's enormous advantage in OBP too, but I won't. I'll save you the humilation.

But, just a thought for next time you want to argue, be sure tou get your facts 100% correct. Otherwise, you look like a dumbass.

  • im talking about career ops

  • So am I, jackass.

  • wow 17 points , thats like a basehit difference . OPS is a stat for Power hitters and OPS of 811 is not good either , ichro came 52nd in the league in OPS does that tell you something ? , Reyes is no Ichro but he's still one of the best SS in the NL if you fail to understand that your just a hater , reyes is better than your Dogders SS & your 2nd baseman >:]

  • A basehit difference? Are you high? A 17 point OPS+ difference is huge.

OPS is not a stat for power hitters, you moron. I don't know why you think it is. OPS is a combination of on-base percentage (judges how well you don't make outs) and slugging percentage (which takes into account extra-base hits, not just home runs). Any great hitter can have a great OPS, even if they don't hit home runs. And Ichiro is overrated as hell, so I wouldn't use him as an example. But he's a better player.

  • you fucking idiot LOOK AT THE GUYS WHO LEAD THE LEAGUE IN OPS THEY ARE HUGE POWER HITTER . & I HEAR THIS FROM PORFESSIONALS LIKE HAROD REYNOLDS . he doesnt like the ops stat because of guys like you who take this stat to the ass

  • He doesn't like OPS because he's an idiot and because his career OPS is terrible. Besides, he's a idiot and he likes molesting his co-workers. Yeah, he's a real "porfessional".

Six of the 20 players who were in the top ten in each league for OPS hit less than 30 home runs.

  • IF jose IS SO GOOD HOW COME HANLEY AND J ROLL WERE THE WONS COMPETING AND jose WASENT EVEN THOUGHT OF FOR AN ALLSTAR

  • hanley fan my ass i bet u jus like him cause he plays for the marlins i bet u a scrub i met hanley n jose they both beast but jose has way better speed but hanley better player over all i bet u never even met him lmfao

  • Reyes was in the allstar game in 06 & 07 , hanel has never been in the playoffs reyes has, hanley is a terrible fielder reyes is an above average ss ,

  • WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO HANLEY OH FUCKIN YA HES THE WORLDS BEST I LOVE HANLEY. P.S SUck iT JOSE. I AM THE WORLDS BESt HANLEY FAN HENCE THE NAME

  • Jose is super overrated, garbage on defense, can't push a ball, and paid way too much.

Hanley plays in Florida where he gets no respect but watch him, then you'll know baseball mets.

  • Jose Reyes all the way!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • JOSE! JOSE! JOSE! JOSE! JOSE! JOSE!

  • HANLEY!HANLEY!HANLEY!HANLEY!

  • jose is better at stealing bases n playing defense but hanley is a better player with the bat

  • Hanley Ramirez vs. Jose Reyes

    um... lets see

    Hanley ALL THE WAY!!!!!

  • I like Hanley more :)

  • jose stinks hanley rocks

  • hanley all the way hands down!

  • jose is faster but hanley is more powerfll

  • Jose!Jose!Jose!Jose!

  • Their stats are pretty similar but i'd choose Jose because of the excitement. The way he runs is so exciting.

  • jose is a beast

  • both are nice but jose reyes

  • Hanley, by far

No offense to Jose because he's very good, but Hanley is other worldly

The only bad part of his game was he didn't take enough walks and he ended up with 90+ this year, so that's that

    Complete player

  • Its really a push they are both great, if you want a great lead-off hitter with some power and game changing speed you take Jose. If you want a middle of the order hitter with great power and good speed you take Hanley. Jose plays better defense so that should be taken into consideration.

  • great vid

  • bottom line....All around talent, Hanley is way better than Jose Reyes.

  • Hanley ramirez...jose reyes is good as well but he is leadoff...hanley in few years could be like A-Rod and bat 3rd or 4th...even john miller said hanley is the best player in the NL

  • Hanley, but I'm totally and completely bias.

  • hanley better at the plate jose better in the field, i remember hanley wen he played in portland (maine) in AA, he was sick but then he got traded for beckett and lowell who are cool

  • hanley is better at everything reyes suck

  • jose iz better he leads the league in hits has a better average is faster steals more bases pumps up the team more he also akes less errors. reyes is a better lead of hitter leadoff hitters arent supposed to hit 30 or more homers they r supposed to get on base homeruns dont start rally's. jose iz much better

  • i'm a philly aand i both hate jose reyes and hanley ramiraz but jose reyes iz better

  • jose reyes is better hes faster hits more gets on base more and hanely is leading the national leauge witthe most errors he does have alot of homeruns hes a power hitter homeruns aint reyes thing hes a double and triple type of guy reyes leading the short stops in triples hanely still a good player tho

  • gets on base more? Hanley's OBP has ALWAYS been better than Reyes

  • go marlins

  • hanley all the way leas shortsstops with hameruns. 3rd in mlb in runs

  • Its close between the two, BUT, Hanley is deffinatly the better one offenseivley, and his speed also makes him a tad better deffensivley.

  • Still agree, but jose is way faster. Its just hanley has better power at the plate. I'm saying this as a marlin fan too.

  • yea, jose has the speed...but u don't need speed when ur hitting home runs, lol

  • bottem line their both good.

  • idiot D, hanley is fast and powerful

  • i know he's fast and powerful, thats why i think hes better than Jose...

  • well fuck it then D. we will never agree that hanley is better

  • Hanley is better!!!

  • D just admit hanley is better

  • Hanley is better than Jose!!!

  • Hanley Ramirez. Both are young and have potential but Ramirez gets more home runs and RBI's. Reyes is faster and has a higher batting average, but not by much. They both play defense equally.

  • awesome

  • both

  • both great but this year hanley

  • hr.26 hanley

    r.91 hanley

    rbi.54 hanley

    avg.296 for hanley

    sb.28 hanley

    j.reyes hr.12

    j.reyes rbi.50

    j.reyes avg 301

    j.reyes sb 38

    hanley all d way nigga

  • Jose Reyes, cool vid though

  • cool

  • Hanley Ramirez obiously.

  • Hanley Ramirez obiously.

  • hanley

  • el nino all day

  • jimmy rollins

  • They are both solid shortstops but Hanley has more power and he's just a better hitter. Only reason Reyes is so hyped is because he plays in NY. He's still a solid player though. Elvis Andrus will be better than both of them IMO

  • awesomeness :)

  • hmm....id probably have to say.....jose reyes. but they both rock

  • Jose Reyes

  • JOSE REYES Wins

    POWER: Hanley

    CONTACT: Jose

    FIELDING: Jose

    SPEED: Jose

    ARM: Tie

AGE: Hanley is younger by a few months

    Experience: Jose

    ****** JOSE REYES WINS *******

  • wins?

  • hanley= BEAST

  • hanley

  • hanley is better

hes a better contact hitter and stronger

  • sweet vid
