Why would you compare these two cars? My Mazdaspeed 3 beats the holy crap out of the Camaro SS in build quality and around a track. Keep it to the same or similar price ranges if you want a fair comparison.
@ThEk1dViC Rolling start for drag races 3 is faster, from 0 the Camaro takes it. As for a comparison between the two around a track, 2012 Mazdaspeed3 was a bit quicker around the Nurburgring than the 2012 Camaro SS. More tuning potential in the Camaro though and you get get RWD, but it's heavy. There are trade offs for all cars, I just happen to like light ones since the handle much better imo. I also run into people that cant drive manual to save their lives all the time.
i'll take the GTR, sell it , buy the best trim camaro ss , buy a hpe1000 package, and i'll smoke a GTR and a zr1 :P gtr looks alright but it looks like a retarded bug. but atleast compare it to something else , like a zr1 and a gtr . (answer is going to be zr1 as it's faster)

For the money it's hard too beat the looks and performance of the Camaro. I just bought a 2012 Camaro SS 6spd manual. Looks the same as the one in the video minus the stripes. It's a realistic car for the average guy and a bargain.

@dieselnew1 nononnonono, gtr is a MUCH heavier car. Some of the lighter vettes are around 3100 pounds, and the zr1 is under 3400. Gtr is around 3900 pounds, much heavier. and it doesn't exactly get good gas milage...16/23, zr1 gets 14/21 and z06 gets 15/24... It's basically the same. And no, the Skyline will not outrun a corvette. a Gtr will outrun a stock corvette, but it's tight with a z06 and zr1. I'd probably take a gtr if it was my only car, but please, read facts.

@TheLTXCamaro Well I do think we have estimates for 0-60 and quarter mile times, and the gtr got a 2.9 second 0-60 and 11.2 quarter while chevy says the Zl1 will do under 4 and in the 12's, respectively. top speeds are 193(for the old gtr) and 185 respectively. In a straight line, the gtr wins. Gtr scored a 75.4 mph slalom with 1.00g skidpad, and the camaro SS got 66.8 and .87 respectively. Even if the Zl1 handles better, it won't be that much better. Fact for fact, GTR will win.

I wouldn't drag btw, I would do circuit if anything. And adding boost is perfectly fair, as you have a boosted car in the zr1 as well. It does have a supercharger and all... And of course I understand how powerful turbos are. But just raising boost pressure won't cause more problems than an engine revving to 9000 rpm...
@TheLTXCamaro Zr1 on the other hand beats the GTR in a lot of respects like top speed and driver involvement, but you could definitely say that the GTR would be easier to drive, and would be faster in inclement weather. If I could only own one car, it would be the gtr because of where I live. If I had a daily driver, I would take the ZR1. Both great but different cars.
@purgatory13z umm you have the daily driver thing wrong. the GTR is more of a daily driver and it gets better gas mileage then the ZR1. and if you want to race on the weekends and still drive it everyday then get the ZR1 with full bolt ons(long tube headers, no cats, X-pipe ect.... you can run high 9's in a 1/4 with a stock ZR1 when you change the gear ratios, and full bolt ons. thats what makes american cars so great. you dont need a lot of money to make then supercar fast!!

For the money it's hard too beat the looks and performance of the Camaro. I just bought a 2012 Camaro SS 6spd manual. Looks the same as the one in the video minus the stripes. It's a realistic car for the average guy and a bargain.

Im not sure why so many idolize the GTR. But it seems to me that its mostly import fanboys that think anything thats NOT an American made car is just superior..
Its maybe a 6 or 7 out of 10 for looks.
Its maybe a 7 or 8 out of driver comfort/driving fun (been in it, havent driven it)
Its not very rare as I see one almost every day where I live.
To me an $80k AWD TTv6 should have more power and looks, but i respect it if I see one on the road. Though most that have 1 prob cant even drive it

@dieselnew1 nononnonono, gtr is a MUCH heavier car. Some of the lighter vettes are around 3100 pounds, and the zr1 is under 3400. Gtr is around 3900 pounds, much heavier. and it doesn't exactly get good gas milage...16/23, zr1 gets 14/21 and z06 gets 15/24... It's basically the same. And no, the Skyline will not outrun a corvette. a Gtr will outrun a stock corvette, but it's tight with a z06 and zr1. I'd probably take a gtr if it was my only car, but please, read facts.

@TheLTXCamaro Well I do think we have estimates for 0-60 and quarter mile times, and the gtr got a 2.9 second 0-60 and 11.2 quarter while chevy says the Zl1 will do under 4 and in the 12's, respectively. top speeds are 193(for the old gtr) and 185 respectively. In a straight line, the gtr wins. Gtr scored a 75.4 mph slalom with 1.00g skidpad, and the camaro SS got 66.8 and .87 respectively. Even if the Zl1 handles better, it won't be that much better. Fact for fact, GTR will win.

@TheLTXCamaro That's what I said, I'd take the gtr if it was my only car(meaning a daily driver) and the zr1 if I had a different car for a daily driver. I wouldn't drag btw, I would do circuit if anything. And adding boost is perfectly fair, as you have a boosted car in the zr1 as well. It does have a supercharger and all... And of course I understand how powerful turbos are. But just raising boost pressure won't cause more problems than an engine revving to 9000 rpm...

If I could only own one car, it would be the gtr because of where I live. If I had a daily driver, I would take the ZR1. Both great but different cars.

@purgatory13z umm you have the daily driver thing wrong. the GTR is more of a daily driver and it gets better gas mileage then the ZR1. and if you want to race on the weekends and still drive it everyday then get the ZR1 with full bolt ons(long tube headers, no cats, X-pipe ect.... you can run high 9's in a 1/4 with a stock ZR1 when you change the gear ratios, and full bolt ons. thats what makes american cars so great. you dont need a lot of money to make then supercar fast!!
