The one thing is, I don't know where you get the figure 12%. 15% is an average tip for okay service. 20% for great. Thats what I look for, and when I go out I tip 20%-50%. BUT thats for good service.

At the end of the night, if your tips don't equal at least 15 % of your sales, it's time to move on to another restaurant...Believe me...It can be a quite lucrative business if you work in the right place...take care sweetie!

The immediate consequence is short-term unemployment, but nobody who willing to work will be out of a job for a long time. The positive long-term consequence is that you start to see restaurants with better management and labor practices and, in turn, this ends up being better for the customers, servers, and employers altogether. You just have to let the free market run its course. It's evolution.

springs131 i totally understand and agree with your points, but i want to make something clear. i put in orders immediately and the orders don't come out first come first serve. the orders come out based off how long the food take to cook. another factor would be how busy the restaurant is. you would have to be a server to know the complete ins and outs of the order process.
