  • It's hard for people to understand how much it hurts to see them like this, it's even harder to educate them, people think they know everything best. I think this show's hiw strong kids with cancer are. Before chemo, my sister would have cried her heart out at feeling sick, during chemo, feeling sick was nothing. I think you are amazing for helping others understand. Thank you.

  • @RIPkiddo

Thank you for your kind words of support. They are very much appreciated.

  • tomarkenfan83 if she wants to film her child when she is sick that is her choice. Sorry you lost your aunt to cancer but perhaps filiming how brave he is makes her feel good. I am not this woman's son btw I just have the same name as her.son.

  • Filming my son while he is feeling ill does not make me feel good. The purpose of my documentary films is to educate. These videos are a means of visual expression used in an attempt, in one fashion or another, to "document" our reality - the reality of living life with pediatric cancer. Research to find cures for pediatric cancers is severely underfunded. I am hoping through exposure, people will be moved to help in whatever way they can.

  • @familyinny You're doing a great job. I went through it myself. My mom was my best friend and my escape , my dad kept telling me I was going to beat it and made it almost like a game. Hard to explain. But you really are doing a terrific job and stay strong. I believe in positive reinforcement. I went through everything. 12 spinal taps , 2 marrow tests , shots , pills ..... I went crazy , but my parents brought me back. Stay strong and let the kid be a kid. Don't baby him.

  • @DarkBlueCaddy Maybe u werent babied? I would baby him all i can, he needs the support physically, and mentally. Actually I would be beside him 24/7 theres nothing worse than this he cant be any older than 6 sure doesnt look like it. You mom are doing a good job, and I bet you hurt alot! Be strong and keep moving on is all i can say, eventually you will both come out of this together!

  • omg i can't believe he went threw chemo, what a kid :)

  • hey zackary just hang in there buddy im will be praying for you. its sooo good to see you smile. u are a blessing lil buddie. just have good an laughing times. well u take care i will be prayin for you

  • poor little guy. yall are in my prayers.

  • No offense taken. I am an activist for pediatric cancer awareness. The videos I post of my son are meant to help raise awareness about what life is like for a child living with cancer. I am not looking for sympathy. I am hoping that those who might be in a position to help with funding research to find a cure will be moved to do so.

  • With all due respect, you do not understand what I am "trying" to do. Unless you have a child with cancer, you cannot say you understand. This is not about sugar coating something distasteful this is meant to give those who don't live this life an opportunity to see what it's like to live with pediatric cancer AND to be truly thankful and appreciative for all their blessings. I also hope that it perhaps motivates those in a position to help to do so. Peace and thanks for your good wishes.

  • i completely get why you are filming these moments, i understand and agree with you. im 16 and was born with a congenital heart disease. i am certain that if people could physically SEE rather be TOLD some of the stuff i've been through, awareness would be raised, funds would be raised, knowledge would be raised, and ultimately a cure may be found. continue to spread the word, the fact that you are inspiring people is taking something good out of an unpreventable bad, and thats all you can do x

  • what a sweetheart! you take care!

  • I am balling like a big baby right now, I'll have you know! Please stay strong, things will get better!

  • keep a positive attitude!

In This Time's a Charm; Lessons of a Four-Time Cancer Survivor, Donald A. Wilhelm tells his real-life story from a patient's perspective about surviving cancer four times. His intent is to give his readers a true depiction of what cancer, and its treatment, is really like. He intends his eBook to parallel an old Chinese proverb that says: "To know the road ahead, ask those coming back."

  • Oh dear Zachary. I juat want to say that you being there for him is so wonderful. I remember throughout my chemotherapy my mother wasn't there to comfort me. Though I was ninteen, it still would have been nice. How far along is Zachary? He looks good.
