@Schapiku That would be a shame. But I fear you're right. Jerry Marotta also did a great job until '86, then came Manu Katché. Now Manu's gone..... :-(
@1Boodyman1 It is a shame because his *extended* (more drums & small cymbals) "Peter Gabriel"-drum set, and his playing it, is awesome and just beautiful!
God gives EVERYONE OF USE gifts, what Garbarek and friends do is remember there are gifts to catch, inside and outside of us. When you love a song, it's your body and your soul that it's making it possible, along with what's outside, WOW ILLLLLOOOOOVE this music!!!!!!!!!
I don't understand... Please listen to Jan's sax, it will make you feel alive! You don't need stars, but God. He will set you free! From the top of a valley to the bottom of a mountain...Your search for truth will never end until you learn to listen to Gods Music.
I was asking 1boodyman1, to really listen to the music. Gabarek is not God, but a humble musician. God gives some musicians true gifts, which Jan has received. I feel that Gods music is one that inspires and lifts your being and soul to a higher level. When I hear ECM Jazz, Jan Garbarek and Eberhard Weber, I am lifted to a personal place of great reflection. A place of true Joy, kind of like God's Love for all of us...
Wonderful to see Eberhard Weber playing so beautifully. I only hope that he will recover from his illness and continue to play with his former inventiveness, great tone and originality.
Excuse my ignorance - that's a soprano shaped like the usual alto? How common is that?

Incredible musicians. I have seen Garbarek about 10 times but this seems to be a "super group" with Eberhard Weber, etc. Wish I was there.

I don't really get it? Are you trying to be religious or are you telling him that Gabarek is god?

I have enjoyed Garbareks music for 30 years...
But what was he thinking about hiring Manu Katche to play....totally uninspiring pop drummer.....sorry Manu..sorry Manu fans......This sucks....

Wichitaito-- when i heard Gabarek play that, i felt that peace and joy were possible... this was decades ago... I like how and when he evokes spirit.
I've never seen him before, so thanks for sharing this.
