In a sense, it was premeditated simply because he was mad Other OS was removed and was willing to compromise everything to get it back, and by allowing distribution of the keys, he was an accomplice and also the originator of this whole issue.

@hellohi1995 Sony have updated with patches in attempt to fix the issue but they are not able to because of the information Geo disclosed to the world is basically the bare bone of the PS3 system. He didn't really make any attempt to make it where ppl can't pirate, he just didn't put in any feature for pirating. It took somebody else that use Geohot's finding and just add the extra. Ultimately, giving the skeleton key to everybody is a matter of what the people will do with it: piracy & hack

@ParityProductionz Dont be angry at him, he did the jailbreak for the intentions of getting it to run homebrew again, something sony made it able to in the first place but later took that out. He hates online game hackers just as much as everyone else he even said that. if you people would just take the time to look at his side, then maybe you would agree with me. dont hate him, hate the douchebags who created the hacked lobbies and "patches" for the games.

Sony made the changes to online, not Geroge Hotz. Geroge Hotz may have opened the door for hackers and home brew modders, but he never made anyone go through that door. Why should he be liable for other peoples decisions?

It was other people's fault for your useless online experience, not geohot's. Geohot did not create this to fuck up your online experience. He was simply giving more functionality to the PS3. @hellohi1995 Firstly, whether his intentions were good or bad, he may have broken the law. Secondly, everyone with half a brain knows that when you hack/jailbreak a system cheaters will use it to mod to their advantage. If he kept it to himself you could argue against that but he made it public knowing that people would use it to cheat.
I agree that we should be mad at the cheaters but Geohot deserves to be in this situation and he gave thousands of cheaters the means to mod games.

he gave the jailbreak, he never made them mod games or anything and he shouldnt be getting yelled at for chaos on PSN. they take the jailbreak and is it to mod games online. Like if someone went walmart and bought a gun and went on a killing spree, you'd be mad an them for killing those people not walmart for giving them the gun. The jailbreak wasnt meant to do what people have been using it for, just like guns aren't meant to be used to kill the innocent.

@hellohi1995 Geohot may not have made mods to allow piracy and hacks, but he was well aware that Jailbreak will inevitably lead to them. He saw it coming. In a sense, it was premeditated simply because he was mad Other OS was removed and was willing to compromise everything to get it back, and by allowing distribution of the keys, he was an accomplice and also the originator of this whole issue.

@hellohi1995 Sony have updated with patches in attempt to fix the issue but they are not able to because of the information Geo disclosed to the world is basically the bare bone of the PS3 system. He didn't really make any attempt to make it where ppl can't pirate, he just didn't put in any feature for pirating. It took somebody else that use Geohot's finding and just add the extra. Ultimately, giving the skeleton key to everybody is a matter of what the people will do with it: piracy & hack

@hellohi1995 It's illegal to sell a gun to someone when you know they are going to kill the innocent. Just like it's legal to buy actual explosives but people have been imprisoned for selling hair bleach that they knew was being used for bombs.
He knew that if he made it public people would use it to mod. It's obvious that sharing the keys with a few friends would result in it becoming public eventually but he deliberately distributed the keys all over the world.

Hotz himself didn't hack MW2 or any game for that matter. Why not try and blame the hackers who actually did the action rather than the guy who just made it easier?
