As a Miami Dolphins fan, I thoroughly enjoyed this Super Bowl. As the 1985 Miami Dolphins were the only team to defeat the great 1985 Chicago Bears!! And to me it was great to see the New England Patriots getting their asses handed to them by "DA BEARS" I loved watching the Patriots get a taste of their own medicine of fumbling the football. The Patriots were so high on themselves, after beating the Dolphins and the Raiders in the playoffs. Only to be smashed 46-10 in The Super Bowl.
Once Tony Franklin kicked the field goal that gave the Patriots a 3-0 lead, was the 1st points the Bears gave up in the playoffs, the Bears got pissed off and the rout was on!!
I doubt it would've mattered, but I always wondered had The Patriots scored a TD on that first drive if the game would've been any different.
I have this game, myself. I always loved The Coke commercials with McMahon and The Fridge.
I was 9 years old when they played this game. I remember not understanding the big deal about Walter Payton at that time. This was really the 1st game I saw him play, and he didn't have a good one.
Looking at his career now Man I wish he scored a TD in this game
@GialloHorror ... smfh, I'm seeing you on every vid now ftw ... You must be doing what I'm doing .. Looking up past Superbowls on tape and looking at the good ole days lol .. I wish I could have seen these SB's live.
@GialloHorror ... lol thats pretty dope how you have them all on tape and stuff also ... Yea I was in 4th and 5th grade for Denvers SB wins :( ... Remember them real briefly but wasn't as diehard. 1st SB I remember a lot of tho is the Titans/Rams SB. ... good stuff tho .. Funny cause I didnt know you were really in to football. I always thought you were just 1 of Boogish's psychotic horror friends. LOL at that.
@GialloHorror The Patriots decided that, come hell or high water, they were not going to let Walter Payton beat them. That's why McMahon was able to pick them apart.
@jdb316 I know that now, but when the game originally aired I had no clue about the history of The NFL, or Walter Payton. It was the same with Reggie Jackson. When I first saw him play, in 1985 he sucked, and I didn't understand the big deal, even being a Yankee fan.
At 9 years old, you're just learning, at 35, there's not much I don't know lol
I remember watching this game with our family in our living room. I was 12 years old. Never forget Fridge thundering in for the TD! Whole family roared!! Being from Illinois, of course we were pulling for the Bears. Also recall the Bears "Super Bowl Shuffle" being one of the biggest hits on the radio in the weeks prior to the game. Those of you too young to remember....boy....you missed one of the greatest, if not THE greatest team in NFL history. Haven't seen anything like them since!
@busarider29 The reason that the 85 Bears are considered one of the greatest teams in NFL history, is primarily because, they were a one-hit wonder...plus, the fact that, the 85 Bears played in a decade in which, no one wanted to play defense, is what made their acheivements all the more remarkable...had the 85 Bears played in the 1970's, their defensive accomplishments wouldn't have been all that impressive...
The '85 Bears were arguably the greatest team in NFL history. No other defense dominated opponents as much as they did. If McMahon had not gotten injured the following season, this team would have been a dynasty. We'll probably never see such a defense again.
@loafer81 there are companies out there that will convert it for you. Enter "Home Movie Depot" in to a search engine. There is also a "in home" device by sony called a DvDirect that can convert from VHS to DVD.
@BarracudaKing1 That's funny. I was only 8 months old myself. This 1985 Bears team is the second greatest NFL team of all time IMHO, right behind the 1972 Dolphins.
@MrMferg240 It's not the 72' Dolphins fault that their opponents couldn't win many of their own games. Also for the record, The 2011 New England Patriots defeated only 1 team with a winning record, and that was in the playoffs vs The Baltimore Ravens.
Thank you so much for uploading!! I wasnt alive to witness this but I can relive this moment!! Thank you so much!!!

If only Buddy Ryan never left the bears as a dc. The bears would have been the greatest dynasties in the 80s.

@jtfourlife they would have just lost to the redskins in the playoffs anyway

@drkthms7 why do you say that?
jtfourlife 5 days ago
@jtfourlife Joe Gibbs was the coach who figured out the 46. Gibbs used to beat him all the time when buddy was the coach of the eagles,
