Simple way around this...jack the vehicle up, remove lug nuts,remove wheel along with "claw",replace wheel with spare. Apply the lug nuts,drive home,remove "claw" with hammer,chisel ect...FAIL PRODUCT.

Unfortunately I've gotta agree with the rest of the commenters who point out that the offender could simply pull their wheel off, put another one on. I don't see this device providing any real protection for anti-theft or parking enforcement.

You might think about labeling it as a deterrent only, since it can't actually stop someone.

@gymkhanadog, taking the time to jack up a car and remove the wheel is a deterrent itself, if you park in a good location. If someone is caught stealing a wheel with one of these attached, they'd have trouble claiming they were just fixing a flat. Picking a good parking spot and walking a bit (if a good spot isn't nearby) is one of the best defenses, anyhow.

Anything that makes a scumbag think twice is better than nothing. A fatalistic do-nothing mentality invites a lot of needless thefts.
