Apologies to all the 6 Pence fans, just not my thing. Praise the lord that they're covering such a great song, but, at the risk of making myself sound dated, I prefer the style of the original, and other rock and metal from that era. Just not into any modern rock/pop/metal, not old school, just old!
sixpence is one of the best bands ever... they remake songs so artistically. this song is one example. another one is there version of "it came upon a midnight clear." it's so good and nostalgic, it was used in grey's anatomy's christmas episode in season 2.
Thank you for posting this... i used to have the cassette tape of this compilation and lost it. This is the one song I loved from that tape. Once again, thank you.
THIS IS WONDERFUL. I used to play in a band down in Texas and one of the bands were were great friends with were Christ Taylor and his band Love Coma, Matt Slocum's former band. We used to play with them at festivals. The singer from six pence..is from New Brounfels Tex. This sounds true to Petra.
@OXAXCO Meh. This version is lacking compared to the original. To quote a friends album title, I'm not old school, I'm just old. The 80's version is so much better than this... whatever you want to call this. Praise the Lord it's still to praise Jesus, doesn't mean I have to dig the music. blah..gonna go listen to the original. and then some Saint, Bloodgood, Rez, and other music from back when people knew how to rock. No offense. Not my thing.
@smn3675 share this version with a teen gal you know (or older even) then say...hey wanna hear the original, it's more folksy...nah! tell them Petra is the Word ROCK!
you seemed so down. I just wanted to encourage you, I just shared this with a 46 yrold gal I call sister.

I love Petra and Sixpence for a long, long time. When I bought this album, this one showed iself to be the most impressive.
Sixpence captured the essence of the message and make an already wonderful song into something epic.
